My best friend just got me into Final Fantasy IIV. I'm a noob sadly. If you have any advise to help me, please give me a Pm or post. My favourite charater so far is Clould. So post anything that would help out. Please.

Hmmm...tips for a newbie, eh? Hmmm....leveling up is always a good thing. Always equip the best things you can and set your materia in certain patterns that will help you in a jam. Utilize rows effectively. If you can get your hands on equipment with Double or Triple materia growth, USE THEM. Always stay well rested at inns and keep your potion and phoenix down stock up. EXPLORE EVERYWHERE AND TALK TO EVERYONE, sometimes more than once. And come back to past places if possible after major events, since people may have something else to say after them. Hmmm...thats all thats on my mind right now. If anything needs to be explained, ask me. Ill post if I can think of anything else.

id advise level up where you can and when you can, strive to get ariths 4 limit brake its well worth it.

Soadshuyin you forgot something....Save points are placed for a reason, use THEM!!! It normally means a Boss Fight is about to happen.

yea use aeris until you cant and if you want to get bahamut zero: before doing the rocket thing go find the code for the lock thingy or you wont get it
also if you want odin dont look for the combo just go get it on the internet unless you are a diehard
only way to get vincent is by getting odin
dont go to wutai unless you dont like ur materia thats all i can think of

Theyre really easy to find. And Wutai, you get your materia back afterwards, just beware that during your entire passing through that area, you will NOT be able to use your materia, and that does include a boss fight.

Found em all fine. I think that one is by the treasure chest in the room nextdoor to that. I remember the last one being a b***h since it was kinda invisible and you had to get lucky in searching for it. Haha, who woulda thought it was right where the clues all were told of, just as an extra option below.

yeah where the last clue is was very clever of them in my opinion.
but any way when you go to wuti for yuffies sub-quest if you have enough materia you sumtimes have a few left over (usealy the close to mastered/mastered stuff) as yuffie only steals so much. (and yes i found this by accedent on one of my play throughs and yes it was on disc 1)
and the sub quest is worth it as it gives you mp or hp absorb (cant remeber which) and the liviathan materia (if you succsefuly climb the tower with yuffie)

Dont be afraid to back track some of the weapons/items/abilatys/and materia can only be found this way (especaly the E-skills)

I personally prefer doing thw Wutai quest on disc 2. The characters are that much stronger, and can handle themselves more easily during the fight with the Don's second beast. Plus, once you get Yuffie back, it'll be so much easier completing the pagoda.
It's well worth fighting Mystery Number to get Odin and Vincent. Odin has one attack used against multiple enemies, chancing a one-hit kill. Against a single opponent, a powerful early-on attack.
