Cirrus had spent the first day of escaping observing the girls her age around her as she rode the train to Kyoto and then walked around the city. She was scared. That much she would admit. But if Kayne had every right to make a life seperate from her, then she had every right to do the same with him.

It was now well into the second week. She had dyed her platinum hair so that she would not stand out quite so sorely, and had gone shopping to get a few things so that her clothes blended better as well. She had been hoarding her money for the last three years, only buying the bare essentials, and keeping it hidden in a locked case.

This had not been the first time the thought of running away had entered her mind. But everytime before, Kayne had been what held her back. Now that he was lost to her, she had found herself remarkably... free. She managed to find herself a hotel and make her way around the city without many problems. It was really quite easy if you just acted like you belonged. She was now sitting in a coffee shop, her legs crossed, a book in her hand, though she was hardly reading. Now that she was beginning to feel settled, her mind had begun to think. And thinking only muddled the way she felt about everything. Sighing, she dropped her book down to her lap and picked up her mug to take a sip of her coffee.

Shuhei couldn't believe his luck. He had spotted the girl in the Daimaru department store. It was definitely her, flipping his phone open he looked at the picture Jessie had sent him again. Smirking he put the phone in his pocket and continued to trail her at a distance.

The girl was smart, that was for sure. New hair, new clothes. She cried hiding. As she stopped in the cafe he watched her from a music store. She was hot too, maybe he wouldn't mind repaying this particular debt.

It was almost too perfect, the cafe was full. Grinning, he made his way over to the counter and ordered a coffee. Then he approached his prey walking up behind her and putting on a prize winning smile that had bagged him half the young women in Kyoto.

"Excuse me." He said in heavily accented english. "May I join you?"

Cirrus looked up at the unexpected question directed at her, and slowly set her mug down. Her silver eyes swept over the good looking young Japanese man and she shifted slightly in her seat to stall for time while she weighed the pros and cons of his question. Finally glancing around the crowded cafe, she figured that there was enough people around to keep him from doing anything unfavorable.

"Sure," she said softly, trying to curb her accent. Nervously she sat up a little straighter and tucked her dark hair behind her ear.

Shuhei took a seat and cupped his mug in his hands. Playing it realistic he reached into his bag and produced a folder and a textbook. Putting the textbook on the desk and spreading the folder out on his lap he worked for about ten minutes and looked up at the cute girl.
"Are you a-me-ri-ca-jin?" He asked slowly. He had his electric dictionary just incse he ran into trouble. Who knows, maybe the girl would have picked up some Japanese.

Cirrus had resumed reading as the young man settled himself in the seat across from her. She found herself glancing over the top of her book to watch him work. So he was a student. Judging by the looks of him, he must be in college, she thought. She resumed reading for a while, then glanced up when he started to speak again. Should she say she was American, or go with Irish. She figured American tourists would be less likely to stand out and dropped her book down to her lap to reach out for her cup.

"Hai," she said simply, raising the mug to her lips and taking a small sip. "Where are you from?" she asked him in Japanese, trying her best to keep her accent as neutral as possible.

A playful smile crossed his lips as she spoke Japanese.
"Your Japanese is very good." He said slowly. "I am from Osaka." He smiled across at her and picked up his mug with one hand.
"Why you here?" He asked in his faultered english. "Uhhh ... bushiness or pureasure? Are you a student?"

Cirrus barely gave him a smile at his compliment and nodded at his answer, glad that he knew to speak slow enough for her to understand. Crossing her arms loosely over her lap, she thought about that question for a moment. The thought to say she was a student crossed her mind, but obviously he was one and she wasn't familiar enough with the city yet to know what schools there were. There would be no way she would be able to pull off business, so that left only one option.

"Pleasure," she replied, trying not to think about how nice his smile was or give him one of her own.

Shuhei smiled back and leaned back in his chair. Briefly he looked out to the street. People walked by in the bright sunshine. Among them the odd tourist and foreigner.
"Do you like Kyoto?" He asked in english, always go for the obvious first. "It is my best city."

Cirrus uncrossed her legs and set the book down on the table, then reached for her mug again.

"I have only just arrived," she said, forgetting about her accent as she lifted her mug to her lips again. "What is your favorite thing to see?" she asked him.

Shuhei kept his happy smile up and took a sip of coffee.
"Kiyomizu temple." He said nodding his head in the direction of Gion and the hills. "It is very beautiful." He was taking his words straight from his old high school textbook. The shrine was one of his favourites which was a coincidental bonus. "Mmm ... did you go to .... temples?" He asked

Reaching for his bag he started to dig around in his bag for his dictionary.

Cirrus watched him rummage around in his bag with mild interest, wondering what he was going to pull out if he found what he was looking for. She glanced out the window in the direction he had nodded, then shook her head no, some of her now ebony locks falling over her shoulders.

"I have not been to any temples," she replied.

Grinning, Shuhei produced his electric dictionary. He opened it and started to type something into the tiny computer looking thing. He liked this girl she was sweet and obviously intelligent unlike his ususal group of cronies. It should be easy for him to spend time with her.

Finding what he was looking for he looked up at her and smiled again.
"Can I be your tourguide?" He asked rather nervously. He was worried that she would say no.

Cirrus watched him type on the tiny electronic device. She could see that he was reading something, then looked into his eyes when he looked back up at her. She finally rewarded him with a smile at his question. Tucking her hair behind her ears, she leaned forward a little and shook her head no again.

"Sorry... I don't go on tours with strangers," she said with a hint of playfulness.

Shuhei gave her a wounded look and smirked. He thought for a second and then gave himself a comical smack on the forehead.
"I forget number one lesson." He grinned, snapping the dictionary shut. "My name is Shuhei. I am twenty years old, I like movies and trouble. I am a student at Kinki university. And you?"

Cirrus laughed lightly at his comical antics and took another sip of her drink as he introduced himself, raising an eyebrow.

"My name is Holly. I'm nineteen. I like reading and travelling, and I'm a student at UCLA in California," she said, the lie coming naturally to her. She still wasn't sure if she should go around with him though. She wasn't born yesterday. Just because you put on a nice face doesn't mean your prince charming, she thought wryly.
