My friend has a really, really interesting book on myth creatures like fairys, dragons, sprites, brownies and things like that but it also has a section for vampires and ghosts and it's very interesting. It explains how the modern day view of a vampire came to be and why they say garlic is a good way to get rid of them. It was really interesting because it was saying the original tale of vampires was that they were more of a ghost type creature with no solid form then a human looking monster. If anyone would like I can get the book from him to get the whole story behind it.
