Dark talons flexed, digging into the soft earth, stirring up dust to taint his white paws. What a glorious place this was, filled with death and destruction, he could also smell the blood of the dying in the air, and he revealed in it, intoxicated in the sense of evil that radiated through h is entire being.

A tail flick, ears twitched, the demon was suddenly startled out of his revelrie by the sense of something, something familar. His eyes narrowed maliciously, a snarl parting his jaws, he knew that presense. Someone was nearby, someone he knew all too well, someone he hated.

Dark talons dug into the earth, his tail lashing behind him, an infernal fire burning in his one good eye. So he was here, his sworn enemy, his rival, his..brother... Well if he was looking for trouble, the white lion would be more than happy to oblidge.

Mrost had been lounging in the graveyard for most of the day, observing the comings and goings of the mortals that lived there. He didn't watch them because he cared about them, he simply watched and waited for an opening to stir up something, anything that would result in battle. But now it was growing late and those he observed were settling down. He moved finally, pulling himself up from his reclining position to sit, stretching his featherless wings and yawning. He found the graveyard boring, choked here by the smell of mortality, the dust of pathetic ages gone by. No warriors were strewn here, united by war. Only beasts who had lived out ordinary lives locked in combat with nothing more than life itself.

It disgusted him and made him feel like he'd have to bathe, and soon.

But surely that feeling of unease he now noted was not all to do with his dislike of this dry and dead place, there was something more, something definately familiar.

His slitted eyes narrowed and he got fully to his feet, the low beginnings of a growl bubbling in his throat.

This wasn't his turf, what was he doing here?

Suddenly snapping into action he slunk down from his perch upon a vast whitened skull and headed towards the shard in his mental map.

It had been a long time.

Extended talons sliced into the earth with every step, large fangs barred menacingly; his gate was stiff, tense, muscles coiled like springs, he was ready for the attack.

As he drew closer to the source of his hatred, his fur stood on end, hackles raised, the feeling of hatred growing with every step. A mortal looking on might have thought that the air had suddenly grown darker, more stagnet with death tinged with the mettalic scent of blood.

At the sight of electric blue fur, Tanaka's snarl grew broader, his growl louder. He paused in his steps when he was in view, drawn up to his full height, his aggression show in every part of his posture.

"It's been a long time....brother."

His voice was a growl, words falling from his jaws dripping with disgust and detest. His hatred of the blue lion could not be put into worse, and given the chance he would have torn him limb from limb.

Mrost's hatred for his brother was equal with Tanaka's hatred of him, however it was not in his nature to overtly express this fury. Anger could be used against you. He choked back the growl and assumed his typical predatory stroll, walking on a knife edge caution-wise but showing none of it. He didn't meet Tanaka's aggressive stance with his own but smirked infuriatingly instead.

"Indeed it has. Though if I do say so, I do wish it had been longer."

He swept a stray bang of his mane out of one eye, setting his leg armour clanking, then he observed his sibling critically, his tail curling and uncurling behind him along with his thoughts. His gaze lingered for just a second on the other's ruined wings and his cold smirk tugged a little at the edges.

"How have things been for you? Still "flying straight"?" the small talk was trivial and meant to get a rise out of the white lion, Mrost knew their relationship was far from at the chatting stage. In fact they were probably much nearer to "kill on sight" than "reminice"

Still it was so fun to tease.

His tail lashed furiously behind him, talons clicking on the bones at his paws as he flexed them in anger, his brother's words and actions only serving to intensfy the rage and hatred within.

Judging from Tanaka's pose, it seemed it would only take the slightest trigger for him to charge. But the white lion was not foolish, and he had not become blinded by his rage yet. But he did not let his guard down, nor did he relax his posture, he was poised to attack, and that is how he would remain.

"No amount of time would be long enough."

Tanaka growled low, but he bite back the snarl that Mrost tried to entice from him. Oh how those words infuriated him, but he would not give his brother the satisfaction.

"I see you finally escaped from that...what was it you were trapped in again?"

Malice dripped from his fangs with every word. It wasn't a question, his words were a taunt, meant to provoke the other.

The blue lion was amused, his fury translating into his usual irritating demeanour.

However, Mrost's smirk seemed to drain of it's humour in the face of Tanaka's comment about his being sealed away and that growl threatened to rise again in his throat. But no, that wouldn't do. He couldn't afford a battle right now, especially not one of the magnitude that would be sparked if they were to clash here in this place. He feigned indifference waving a paw dismissively.

"You of all lions should know that /nothing/ can hold me for long."

He quirked a brow slightly and asked.

"So what brings you to this dismal place anyway. Seeking a second-hand pair of wings for yourself?"

Though Mrost was a good actor, Tanaka hated that along with everything else about the blue lion. It infuriated him, and he could feel his rage growing with every moment his brother was in his presence. For a moment he thought of throwing something, and his paw curled around a bone on the ground as if preparing to do so.

"How unfortunate."

Tanaka's smirk faded, replaced with that menacing snarl. This was a familuar place, even as cubs they had hated and despised each other, their fights and arguements echoing through the heavens, a war that would never end.

"Oh but you're the great god of war, surely you can figure that out for yourself."

Tanaka's tone was beyond mockery, it was malicious and cold; if sarcasm was a river they would have surely both drowned in it.

Charge me you b*****d, give me a reason to kill you.

Mrost's tail froze in it's casual curling as Tanaka made a move to pick up the bone, his gaze moving to it for just a split second. Anything could shatter the sumounting tension, he knew and there would be no way he would tolerate the indignity of having things lobbed at him without reacting with force. The white lion was one of the very few creatures in the whole world who knew how to rub Mrost all the wrong ways. He prided himself on his smooth, casual demeanour and only his brother and enemies on the battlefield had ever witnessed him in a true rage, his mask left behind.

"The movements of fools are a little beyond my understanding, conflict." he spat the words, his ears flicking back, lip curled in the beginnings of a snarl. His facade was cracking and despite his best efforts, his anger was becoming apparent.

He dropped his tone a little and pointedly eyed the bone.

"You throw that thing and everything will go to hell." he narrowed his eyes "You especially."

It was Tanaka's turn to be infuriatingly calm and taunting, choosing for the moment to ignore his brother's words, or perhaps it was because of those words. The white lion picked up the bone, holding it in his paw, testing it's weight. He looked over the bleached surface, as if it was far more interesting than the blue lion before him, a mocking grin on his maw.

"Oh really, you must have a terrible time understanding the thoughts in your own head then."

The smirk fell, leaving only large white fangs that threatened to rend anything in the lion's path. He had previously decided not to throw the object, that was far to primitive for his tastes. But Mrost pushed him exactly the write, or wrong as it were, way and the temptation was too great. Tanaka had had enough and the tension between them was about to explode in a violent fury.

"You're too late brother, for I have come from hell to send you back!"

His words were punctuated with a snarl, his paw reared back, he flung the bone at his brother as the last words fell from his jaws. The moment the bone left his paw, the lion charged, talons and fangs bared, the smell of blood behind him as a demon from hell.

Mrost's slitted eyes dialated as the bone flew through the air and he finally let the mask slide completely. He caught the thing out of the air and crunched it into pieces before launching himself towards his sibling with all the abandon of a beserker on the battlefield.

"I told you NOT TO DO THAT." he all but screamed, going from composed individual to a snarling, bristling lunatic. He would defend hmself but he couldn't let the fight drag on, after all, his powers were somewhat limited these days. Nevertheless battle itself was where his abilities lay and he was vaguely confident.

As the two of them clashed, he let out a snarl of effort, lashing out with a taloned paw while trying to defend his back with his bladed tail. "Hell?! HA. I'm already there!"

His words were snarled through bared fangs, tail lashing behind him as he surged forward talons aimed for his brother's hide. How dare Mrost even -think- that the white demon would ever do or listen to a thing he said, he of all lions should know he would do exactly the opposite.

Tanaka roared fiercely as talons slashed at his own hide, the warmth of blood staining his white fur as it flowed from the fresh wound. But that would not slow him down, another scar was nothing.

"Then it seems we have one thing in common."

Striking with his own talons, Tanaka aimed for Mrost's eyes, avoiding the shoulders and chest that were covered with mane, his blows were intended for the areas that were vulnerable and unprotected.
PostPosted: Mon Jun 12, 2006 12:39 pm

Mrost knew that his blow was merely a flesh wound and he'd have to do better than that to get any sort of traction in this fight. It was horribly frustrating, to be able to feel your strength hit a limit imposed by sheer lack of belief. Just as he set about trying to get his claws into some underbelly, Tanaka went for his face. The blow connected with his cheek and eyebrow as he just swung his head away in time, thanking whatever power it was that had trapped him in his helmet. Nevertheless the blood these gashes spilled made sight out of one eye nothing but a red haze, something he couldn't tend to right now. He considered for a split second going for his brother's throat but decided that with a mane in the way this was stupid. Instead he put all his energy into grabbing the white lion in an attempt to swing his tailblades into a flank.

"The only thing... I have in common with you.. is dislike."

But he knew he would have to shake the other god off soon, he couldn't deal with a full scale fight right now, and he could not afford ending up back in that darkness where there was nothing.

Tanaka caught Mrost's intent a moment before the blue lion struck, wrenching his body free of the talons and turning enough to deflect the blow with a mane covered shoulder rather than taking it to his unprotected flank. But even so the blow struck hard and blood flowed freely from open wounds, his mane turning red from the gash on his shoulder.

Snarling in anger and pain, the white lion's head turned, jaws snapping at the blue tail in an attempt to not only stop it's lashing but to pin his brother. Razor sharp talons fell hard, aimed for Mrost's hidequarters with punishing force.

And slowly growing to be uncomfortable. She couldn't believe how depended she was becoming on him for just his prescence. Kiuma pause as a sound echoed in the graveyard, the sound of snarls and heavy bodies colliding. Her stomach flopped sickening, dread flooding her. "Tanaka?!"

Spinning lightly on cream-tipped paws, the crimson lioness raced towards the sound, her muscled hunter's body flying over old bones right into a scene from her nightmares. Tanaka, bleeding, and some other strange lion with wings, were fighting. He must be another god, but oh... the hatred that covered Tanaka's face...

"Tanaka!" She cried out, frozen in place.

Mrost smirked in a satisfied manner as he felt his tail hit home, bearing in mind it was a bit off of his desired target. Tanaka was as slippery as always, impossible to simply pin, to simply depeat, always begeting movement and constant defence. He didn't deflect the blow as he was gashed across his hindquarters with such force that his-purple-red blood spattered the ground. Instead he made a move to take a snap at what was left of his brother's wings, hoping that would make a pause for thought in battle.

However, he heard the voice nearby and decided that no way would he tolerate another lion getting involved in this. Letting out another raucous snarl he tried to kick Tanaka off of him with all of his might, to use the possible distraction to break out of close combat. Generate some distance.
