Through a portal, only Mari and a chosen few can open, is a clearing in the middle of a vast wooded area. In this clearing is a small two story brick house with a porch on it. There's a tree to the left side of the yard with an old swing tied to it and to the right side of the house is two tombstones where her parents were buried. Around the grounds is a white tiger that roams. She's Mari's pet and her name is Blitz and is very over protective.
This home has been in the Star family for years and generations due to a family power that was best left hidden from the community. And as a reward to the family that had taken care of the woods and the creatures inside it, anyone and only those with Star blood in their veins could navigate the enchanted forest without getting lost. For inside the woods are mystical creatures that need protection and even a secret cave that holds a portal that will allow someone to travel to the past.
If you go through the front door of the house, you'll be in a small living room that has a fire place and furniture. There's a staircase and a door under the staircase that leads into the basement. You walk straight and it leads into a kitchen. The house is so small it doesn't have a dining room, so there's a table and three chairs in there. Off from the kitchen, as if you were going to go out the back door, is a bathroom.
Up the stairs are three rooms. One is Mari's, one used to be her parents' room but is now a guest room, and the third room is Maris' since he now lives there. There's a pull down ladder in the ceiling that leads to the attic, but not much is up there anyways.
Currently a friend of Mari's father lives there since Mari doesn't anymore. He takes care of everything and even Blitz. His name is Maris Mercurus.

Mari walked in through a portal and was in the clearing infront of the house. She put Byte down so she could look around. Tech and Smash walked in right behind her and the portal closed. On the porch of the house was white tiger laying down and a man sitting in a chair. Upon seeing the company, he stood up and walked down the steps over to them. He was an older man in his 40s and had dark green hair that was quite long. He wore a red headband and pretty much normal clothes of jeans and a t-shirt with a denim jacket.
He was sort of rough looking, but the smile he gave said he couldn't be that tough. "What's going on here? Two people I know and two kids that are..." He got a good look at the kids and kinda winced. He then pulled Mari over to the side and started to talk to her. Byte just watched as they moved away and whispered to Tech. "I don't think this is going to be a good idea..."

*while mari and maris went to talk he walked up to tech and byte and crouched down to their level*

Tech just looked at him and crossed his arms. "What do you want?" Byte just looked over as well and had a look of curiosity on her face. She looked at the porch at the tiger who wasn't phased by the company at all and then looked back. "Will that big thing eat us?"

Maris was whispering to Mari and they were talking. "What the hell are they?"
Mari just looked at him and answered his questions. "They're nightfiends... These creatures made out of darkness."
"And you brought them here for me to watch?"
"You're good with kids and they're actually something good. They're not evil... Just were told to do evil things."
"They're creepy as hell."
"Maris, stop!" She smacked his arm and they just continued to speak to each other about them and them staying here until everything was blown over, at least.

oh no no. she may look big but she's very gentil
*he looked down at the ground and spoke softly*
i'm sorry that i was so rough on you two. i didn't realize what you guys went through and i wish i didn't have to scare you two like that.

Tech just looked off towards the side and Byte just kept staring over at the jungle cat. Curious of what it was. Mari and Maris were still off talking. Seeming like they were coming to a conclusion. "Everything's been different since Kano took over. It used to be that nightfiends could just stay in the realm of darkness with no worries. He's pretty much a dictator."

yea. it seems like he's trying to do the same to our realm as well. but i'm going to kill him though. i just don't know where i can find him.

Byte walked over towards Blitz and the tiger just put her head up as she smelt something different come near her. She smelt Mari on the small girl, though, so she didn't attack. Byte sat down on the porch step and started petting the tiger on her head. "You're a big thing, aren't you?" Blitz just purred and sat her head back down. Letting the girl pet her head.
Tech just kept an eye on Byte incase that thing tried anything. Still listening to Smash, though. "If your next question is asking where he is, we don't know. We just get his orders and are sent out. It was our task to take over if Rave failed."

*he nodded and just lsitened to what he had to say. he was hoping for an exact location but he thought of a different plan*
i see. well what if you were able to take me to your realm? i could just drive him out myself.

After his question, Tech clenched his arm and gritted his teeth. He said in a mockingly tone as if the following words were once said to him. "We can't go back until our mission is done. This prevents us." Tech took off one of his gloves and there was a marking that looked like a branding on his wrist. It was a dark black and seemed like it was burned into his skin. After Smash got a good look at it, he put his glove back on and just kept his eyes towards Byte. She had one too. Her gloves were covering it just the same.

He just kept his eyes on her and his arms crossed. "We were born at the same time from the same energy. I'm her and she's me. She's the only thing I have. We're connected."

He just kept looking towards Byte and just let out a huff at his words. "Doesn't matter. Not going to get much stronger. We're never going to age. If anything, we'll get smarter, but not any stronger."
