The Tonys are on tonight! I'm so excited. It hasn't gotten too much media this year (at least not that I've noticed), which surprises me, seeing as it's the 60th anniversary.
So what are your predictions? Do they match up to what you really hope wins? Which award's got you the most excited? Expecting any sleeper hits?
I'm personally excited about the musical revival category. I'm torn between rooting for Sweeny Todd and Threepenny Opera, but I'm pretty sure The Pajama Game is going to win.

Ah, I'm really excited! I can't really predict who's going to win what, because there always seems to be surprise wins/losses, but I'm rooting for Team Sweeney.

Wow, so the hit this year would appear to be The History Boys. I know absolutely nothing about it.
I was kind of hoping on The Lieutenant of Inishmore for more than it got, but I think we'll be seeing more of that play.
I won't talk too much about robberies unless we're going to talk about Sweeney Todd and The Threepenny Opera. I'm not going to get over that for a long time.

The Tony's this year really kinda... what's the word... sucked.
I was not looking forward to them much at all, but I was even more disappointed then I though I would be. I had only seen two shows all season that I liked. Three Penny Opera didn't win anything and Tarzan didn't even get nominated for anything but lighting (which it lost).
None of the performances entertained me... I want to see Drowsy Chaperone even less now then I did before. Sweeney Todd I would like to see, but my mother won't. Already saw Three Penny, and Cindy Laper still sucks. Don't like the music of the Four Seasons so no interest in Jersey Boys. Pajama Game looks boring. Wedding Singer looks cheesy and corny. Color Purple was the only thing that turned my head towards the TV the whole night and that's cus they just screamed "Hell no!" a lot and it made me laugh.
Didn't really pay much attention to who won what except best revival and new musical, cus I had bets going with my mom on them. She won both, I lost.

Kate the Curse I won't talk too much about robberies unless we're going to talk about Sweeney Todd and The Threepenny Opera. I'm not going to get over that for a long time. Me neither. D: I turned my television off and went to bed after The Pajama Game won best revival of a musical.

What happened with "Music of the Night"?
Poor Howard. How embarassing that would be...
Anyway, I thought the Wedding Singer looks God-awful, but I'd be interested in the Pajama Game.
LaChanze totally went to the school I'm visiting this summer. : D

I'd personally give it a chance. As for Pajama Game, no way. It lacks so much to me.

I agree: the cast of The Wedding Singer appeared to be having more fun up there than any other group that performed. Plus, that was the only vignette I saw that I really found myself interested in performing in. Granted, if I was in NYC auditioning right now, I'd go through everything, but that is the one I'd be most interested in actually making it into. The entire evening bored me, mainly because I knew almost nothing about this year's contenders and didn't make it down to NYC to see anything. I'm glad Hal Prince got the achievement award and hopefully next season will bring in some better shows. I can't wait for September for A Chorus Line!

Arawath Gah, Sutton didn't win! confused I guess the third time will have to be the charm... The shock of the night. Lapone was actually the talk of who was going to win. Everyone said that if she didn't win Foster would win. The girl from The Color Purple winning is the biggest upset. She basically is quiet the whole show. She plays the shy Woopi Goldberg part.

I though the Jersey Boys were great. It was a bit akward when John Lloyd Young came out and sang alone.. I was like "Umm.. we're not at a concert." But then he called for the other three 'seasons', and they rocked my world.

I was rooting for Sweeney and Threepenny
Who'da thunk that Nightcrawler (Alan Cumming) could sing?
You can tell that he dances, but not that he sings
Wolverine (Hugh Jackman), too
All these X-Men people who perform!
Anywayyy
I thought it was cool how the actors play the instruments in Sweeney
Although Patti, in my parents' opinion, didn't bring out the "witty lyrics" enough... I love the "the worst pies in London!" part x3
And Threepenny Opera is just plain cool x3
What musical ended up winning?
I wasn't able to watch the whole thing : P
