I thought it would be nice if we had a thread about electronic gadgets 3nodding , or technological innovations. We could put our opinions about anything from iPods to RFID tags blaugh .
For starters, RFID tags - Radio Frequency identification. Radio Frequency IDentification (RFID) is a method of remotely storing and retrieving data using devices called RFID tags/transponders. An RFID tag is a small object, such as an adhesive sticker, that can be attached to or incorporated into a product. RFID tags contain antennas to enable them to receive and respond to radio-frequency queries from an RFID transceiver. Neat, huh? xd .
So... - What is your favourite electronic gadget (if you have one?). - What do you think about the gadgets brought up. - What do you think should be invented that hasn't been invented? 3nodding .

Heh. I have a creative zen mp3 player. I do a lot of walking where I live since I don't have (nor do I want) a car. Vast quantities of portable music keep my sane. (well, as sane as I can be, anyway.)

You're not paying for the hideous amount of whoring--er, advertising Mac does. Plus, the one I have acts like a removable disc. I don't have to use proprietary software to transfer music to it, just drag and drop.

I did like the click wheel innovation. And with the correct software, you can also drag and drop with an iPod.

darkphoenix1247 eek There's student discounts for IPods?!?! There's student discounts for anything if you know where to look. And if anyone is buying a Dell online anytime too, I can get you an extra 10% off ^-^ Oh, and Phoenix, no one likes Macs because they suck. All they have going for them is the fact that they're very stable, pretty easy to use, and they have super flashy super shiny interfaces. But last time I checked you either can't upgrade, or upgrading is expensive because you can only use mac hardware.

Hmmmm... How about linux? I wanna try the Ubuntu 5.10.i386 OS and check it out. I heard it has built-in WINE simulator allowing it to run all the Windows applications smoothly, as if it were in a genuine windows OS. It's definately stable, and I like it how the code is free, open, and constantly upgrading.

Try out knoppix too, it's cool. You can burn it to CD and boot the whole operating system of the CD, over windows. That way you can see how you like it without reformatting. Also, if you go for it, I recommend partitioning your harddrive, so you can run both windows and Linux 3nodding
