 The snow white cub laid in the shade of a few trees by the water, she hadn't much to do and had been avoiding her family. Her stupid brother, he was a problem and her cousins, from what she had seen none had been amazing.
She wouldn't forget her last meeting with lions, she saw a strange male and for some reason he had been playing on her mind. She wanted to know what he had been plotting.
She shook her head and rested it on her paws, closing her golden eyes. She was still aware that was going on around her small body but, for the time being, what harm was there in resting her young eyes?

A larger lion seemed content with traveling towards the waters, his form clearly a juvenile amongts the onslaught of newly born cubs. Naraka knew his age was larger, and his power as well as his influence was stronger. That much was clear with his easy acceptance of the elder cub. Now, Naraka and his brother had to figure out where the gods were. Once they found the gods, his assumed they would be blessed for their wise choice in choosing the elders instead.
As soon as they got close to the water, he got a strange feeling in his gut. With a silent command for Ra to stop, the younger brother looked around with his trained eyes. Only a moment later, he caught sight of the female from before, and could only snort before glancing back towards Ra.
"Keep your voice down...these new cubs love to listen in on conversations that are not their own." His voice was smooth and deep, clearly he had been practicing. Wishing for the same control as his mother, Naraka was getting close to perfecting his emotionless mask. Yet, his eyes still held his emotions, a trait gained from his father.

 Ra, despite only being a juvenile was already beginning to show the faintest signs of his future stature, the jet black male was only now beginning the slow proccess of sloughing off his cub fat and building up the muscles that would serve his cause in the years to come. Despite the obvious rise in his strength, the elder male of the two was still somewhat deficient in terms of his mental capacity and relied very much on Naraka to guide their plans.
He too froze as his brother did and followed the other's gaze to the white female by the water. He smirked irristably, his first thoughts being how he could possibly ambush her and drive a fight out of the encounter.
His thoughts were interrupted by his brother's words. No, he wouldn't let anything slip. "I hear you." His own voice was far from smooth, rarely used for talking, more likely to be used in a snarl or a threat.

The little white cub heard them approaching but stayed where she was. She wanted to see them not knowing who it was but what would be the point in that? Surely it made more sense to just sit and listen, it taught her most of the things she needed.

Sending one of his very rare smiles towards his brother, Naraka let it fall not a moment later. It would not do to show weakness. Soon enough, he moved back towards the task they had on hand, drinking the rare water that sat within the pridelands. The oasis was the same where he met most pride lions with his mother, and where Baku talked to them. With newly grown claws scratching across the stoney surface, he finally got to the waters and silently lapped at the liquid.
As soon as he lifted his head, he trailed his eyes towards the dark form of his brother, the smirk crossing his mask showing that his mind was slowly starting to get to work.

Ra returned his brother's grin and followed him over to the water's edge, as always making an effort to keep out of the sun, his dark coat absorbing any sunlight that came at it. He took his fill of the water, all the time keeping his gaze on the unfamiliar female. Who was she?

This was boring her somewhat and she stretched her legs, rising her small body. She didn't open her eyes straight away but just stood and let out a yawn. She then tottered down to the water and lapped up the liquid before opening her golden eyes and letting them rest on the brothers, one of which she already recognized.

The silence was grating on Naraka's nerves, though he refused to be the first to say something. Forcefully keeping his maw shut, he rolled his eyes and turned away from the female as well as his brother. The elder sibling was doing nothing to solve his irritation, though Naraka hardly held that against him.
With his tail draging in deadly arches, like a deadly snake, Naraka moved past the white female, murmering a soft snort of disgust before continuing back towards the sands. Maybe if he was really rude, she would give them a reason to have some fun that day.

Ra disliked quiet, it made him edgy, and though he was a lion of few words, some silences were just made to be broken. He eyed the white female critically for a bit before stating. "You are white. Why?"
And then padding over, he sat down just glowering.
"What's your name?"
Almost everything the black lion said seemed to be an order.

She looked up at the one who spoke. She didn't get ordered around but yet she could answer questions. "If you wish to know why I am white then I suggest you ask my parents, same as I would if I wanted to know why you are black."
She watched him as he got closer, she had ignored his brother, she wasn't one for starting fights. "My name is Nyeupe'Moto but if you wish to call me anything, its easier to call me Ny. Can I know your name and your brothers?" She ignored Naraka as he wasn't the one who was speaking. She had no interest in him right now.

"Only those deserving learn of our names." Naraka said quickly, cutting off any responce Ra could have said. He sent a warning glance to his brother, one showing he held no trust in the female. Turning, he settled down and shook his head to move his large mane out of his eyes. It seemed as if growing just made life harder, in his opinion. But at least he was closer to gaining the size his father held.
"And, dear brother of mine, she is white because she lacks strength like true Firekins..." He held his tongue, but his eyes told it all. She makes up for it with wisdom. His eyes still warning his brother, he waited to see what would happen next. If Nyeupe wished to gain their names, she must earn their respect, just as Damu did weeks before. But every day, it was harder for others to make it into his circle.

Ra was about to reply to the female when his brother cut in. He rolled his eyes slightly at being unable to start a fight but complied muttering. "'on't see what's so fancy 'bout our names anyway." However, he looked the tiniest bit hurt as his brother went on, examining his own pelt for a moment.
"But...I'm not all red either.." It was a quiet complaint and he did acede to Na's wishes, nodding. He knew now what they had to do.

Ny looked at Naraka sharply. "What is your problem? Just because my parents can't create the right colours, I could say the same about your own. Your brother is black as he just said. You have weak comments but yet you make yourself look strong." Her golden eyes stared at him momentarily forgetting about his brother.
"I am not stupid to pick a fight with you, two on one would instantly kill me. I don't understand though, you like my cousin, Damu dont you, though he acts like my father. Strange. You must have different tastes then your mother." Her father had always complained about Nuri and told Ny to keep away from her and her cubs, but there was a small part of Ny that just didn't like doing what she was told.

Naraka just watched his brother silently, not saying a word as he was trained to do. However, he was well aware of the hurt that crossed over his brothers eyes for a split second. Letting out a very low groan, he moved to stand and padded slowly to his brother, and nudged his playfully with a microscopic smile. At the moment, Ny was completly forgotten.
"Which makes you stronger...black is a mixture of all the colors...you should be honored brother for the blessing you have recieved..." From what Baku had told the two, there was another goddess that was black, one that was strong like Ra was becoming. And Naraka envied his brother for his blessing by the goddess. He just wished Ra could see his fortunes.
However, his little moment with family was broken by the sharp interruption of the female to his side. Turning his deep red eyes, he just blinked at her assumptions, before cold laughter flowed from his maw. It took him a minute or so to stop his laughter, and he shook his head before turning away.
"I like Damu, but I don't really like you." And with that, he sat down and pondered what to do next, forgetting why else the two had traveled to the oasis.

Ra was reassured by his brothers words, at least a bit, though that uncertainty still remained. He recalled the goddess that Baku had spoken of, deciding that perhaps there was some truth in those words. Perhaps he had received a discreet blessing in the form of his pelt. It allowed him to relax slightly. Still, he couldn't yet bring himself to dislike the female. She had displayed a degree of poise and perception he found admirable so far.
He couldn't help but reply to Ny with a boast about his own fighting prowess. "I could take you on one on one and have the same result you know. Fighting is what I do."
