ah yes what is there that we as fans expect to see in the future of the oh so wonderful band? Do you want to hear something completely different from America Idiot? Or the old style like Dookie?
well let your imagination run wild!
For me I want to just watch them mature, with AI they changed the music quite a bit. But I would like their future music to be more of the early style of Green Day with a touch of their new lyrics style.

what makes me think about the future of green day, is that they are going to be a more known band in all kind of public, but yes , i would love to see a mixture between the old-school and their grown up style

I don't know what I expect from them, but I think it'd be really neat if they went back to spiffy lyrics like they used to have...and basically their older style, but with the recording style of Warning, Shenanigans, and American Idiot. (Those three albums have a different sound. Less raw, more processed...but I kinda like that. ninja )

I just hope that they can let mind run and maybe test with different kinds of instruments and such. I just hope that they don't run into rap and pop and such and are still their own rock legends

I'm actually joking with a grain of truth there. That would be really interesting to see. Just one song. As for pop, they already have a bit of a pop edge, so I don't think they'll go any further into pop.
Yes... where will Green Day go from here. Probably a cleaner (studio wise, not lyric or subject matter) version of something like Warning. I don't really know what to expect, and they probably don't know what to expect either.

I would LOVE it if they went back to "Dookie" style, or go as far back as "Kerplunk!".
As for them maturing, I dunno, I mean, I like Blink.... Yeah, so what?! and look what happened to them when they matured. Not fair, now they're on "infinite hiatus".
I think Green Day shoudl go back to their original sound.
While American Idiot is good, I prefer their oldies.

I don't care what it is they decide to do as long as they don't let the media control them. If they stay themselves and their music reflects it in whatever way they seem fit, I'll be happy with what ever it is Green Day does in the future!

Exactly! 3nodding That said, though, it would be really cool to hear them continue to experiment. It seems like every one of their albums has had a slightly different kinda sound to it, and I really can't see them settling down into just one sort of style. Oh yeah, and it would totally RULE if Mike and Tre' took lead vocals a little more. Tre' has a fantastic voice, and although I haven't heard Mike yet I bet he's pretty snazzy too! heart heart
