Pumbaa was alone. Lonely. Afraid sometimes. Not really afraid right now. Just. Lonely. He walked, his tail dragging, his beady black eyes dull and his long ears drooping as if rain fell and made them heavy. His belly, still large but was not as large as it once was. He lost a little weight (literally) when his buddy left. Actually vanished. Pumbaa had wandered hours and hours trying to find his long lost meerkat buddy. The one who did not mind his smell. The one whom was so nice to him. The one who-
Pumbaa had to stop and rub his eye on his foreleg before he sat down, his head lowered. He had to get himself happy, but even with the nice creatures he had met, he was still lonely for that company. That feeling of a best friend. A good friend. A figure to look too. Now, all Pumbaa looked foreward too was eating the next juicy bug that came by to supress the sad-empty feeling inside.

Nytoa's nose twitched. Something...different was around, something that she hadn't come across before. Not ususally wanting to run into others, for fear of them ganging up on her, she usually kept her distance...but the smell of this thing, obviously not lion, made her a bit curious. She pulled herself up out of her lying position, from where she was only just watching the world go by, as normal.
She slowly padded her way around, not sure just where the scent was coming from. Her tail drifted just above the ground, her stance one of caution, her ears picking up all the noises that it could. Just where was this...thing?

Pumbaa did not feel he was being followed or bombarded or what ever that feelin was when someone interupted ones sad, existance. He blinked, looking about and not really seeing anything, but not caring to see anything either. His ears flicked slowly though, for he was curious. "Is anyone out there?" He asked, his tail twtiching slightly at the end. He let a tear roll down his cheek.
He was lonely and when ever someone came upon him, it was usually 'eww you stink' which made him cry more. if he cried any harder, he'd dry up.

Nyota forze, her ears flicking this way and that. Someone was out here! Good, her nose wasn't freaking out. Which would be quite a comforting thought.
She paused before letting out a call, hoping that whatever she found wasn't hostile. It certainly sounded upset, but you never knew...
"H-hello? I'm here...though...I don't know who or what you are..." Her nose twitched. Yes, definately a different smell.

Pumbaa himself looked about nervously for a moment, before his attitude towards everything took its toll and he lost intrest in being afraid. "Oh, I am just a warthog, nothing to fret about. I am nothing but a big stink" He said, shaking his head slowly side to side sadly.
He was not sure if there was anything to say other than that; what would a stranger want to do with him ?

Nyota's ears flicked forward, catching the voice of this self-proclaimed warthog.
"Stink? Maybe, but that doesn't mean that you're nothing..." Nyota's compassion for alienated strangers was starting to come out. Her had little bits of different personalities, but it seemed that her kindest, and not so scared one, was coming out.
She moved just over enough to see that indeed, he was a warthog. "Goodness, thank the gods you're not a lion." She flopped on her belly, not scared of this warthog at all. "Lions scare me..."

Pumbaa blinked quietly, looking at this stranger; one whom did not seem offened by his apperance or smell. It was about time. He sniffed the air, seeing if the scent of anyone else was with this female. None. He relaxed, his tail falling limp to the ground with a sigh. "Eh, I suppose it depends on what my intent is... to be friend or food." He said, scratching behind his ear with a hoof.
Pumbaa watched her flop down; and thought for a moment. "Well, i'd say the same to you.. but... I seem to have good luck with lions. As long as I get a word in edge wise before hand." He said with a smile. "They seem to like talking to me more than stalking to me... er... stalking me" He said, attempting to make a witty rhyme... but only shook his head wiht a smile.

Nyota's chin was resting on the earth, but she glanced over to look at the warthog.
"You may have luck with lions, but they scare me. A lot." The lioness shivered lightly, her scrawny form low on the ground, covered with bits of grass, and such a mess.
"Smells are one thing that shouldn't be bothersome, not when you're used toe ating out of rotting carcases...." Her tail swished on the ground, puffing up a light cloud of dust mixed with dead grass.

Umo chuckled, since this lioness was after all, A lion. He blinked for a moment, then looking too her curiously. "Don't you live with Lions?" He asked, his head cocked too the side, his tail twitching. He had never heard of a creature being afraid of their own kind before. Let alone, not minding his smell. Wait... rotten?
"What do you mean rotten flesh?" He asked, looking confused. "Where do you stay?" He questioned,

Nyota gave a questioning look to the warthog, before wrapping her tail around her side. "No...I don't. I...don't like other lions very much." She gave out a sheepish smile before continuing. "It's hard to like your own kind when even your family disowns you..."
She cleared her throught, and then gave out a little brighter smile. "I did meet one lion that was okay...but only 'cause his son was very kind to me." It was the only time that she could really remember that she felt absolutely comfortable with an adult lion around. Of course they didn't stay, they were only passing through the lands, but it was still a nice memory to cling onto.
Her ears perked forward, then laid back onto her skull. "Oh, sorry, I didn't mean to say you smell rotten. It's just...after a while, your nose doesn't work so well anymore...I guess."
She gave him a questioning look, then glanced around. "I umm....live wherever my paws take me..." She shifted her forepaws a bit. "Wherever there is no one else, too..."

Pumbaa nodded his head in understanding. He had not seen anouther warthog is soo long, he was not sure if he could relate with them anymore. He shrugged his shoulders, looking deep in thought, before he looked back to her. "Well, I can understand. I was also, cast out from my family as well." He said sadly. He sat thinking again. "So, you do not have a place where you live... I mean.. like all the time?" He asked.

Nyota looked like she was pondering on the idea, the question he gave her. "No....not really. Sometimes I sleep in the same places, but not for too long. I just don't want to get found out."
She gave off a small yawn, and looked back at Pumbaa. "So have you been around here long? I have never see you here before...though I sometimes see your kind."
Nyota was sad herself about things, but...it seemed unfair that this warthog was sad too. So perhaps she could help cheer him up, and get him on his way. There was nothing in the Southlands for him, most likely. Well, time will tell, along with a little more conversation.

[colore=red] Pumbaa cocked his head listening too this lioness. He wondered if she got lonely, she almost had too. After all, Lions were pride creatures. They lived in groups and slept in groups. For some reason, it made him sad to think of her sleeping all by her lonesome. He bit his lip, his long ears twitching. "Aww, I don't think I could sleep alone like that... course... I am alone alot these days." he said with a sullen look, his hoof digging into the ground. " I do not think I would like it..."
"W-well.. I sort of walk around now but the jungle is my main home. I don't really wander anywhere else usually though. I am too afraid too." He said with a laugh. He never really liked wandering, but the jungle got lonely. A lot lonely. So, he just walked for a bit... yeah."

Nyota's ears perked at the mention of jungle. She'd never heard the word before but...she didn't feel like bringing it up.
"Well, you get used to sleeping alone, really." Her tail swished thoughtfully. "It's not so bad when you find good places that only you can sleep in." Her words drifted off softly.
"Of course, it's nice if you can find a little critter to curl up with." Her eyes shone a bit with an idea. "So you say no one can stand your smell, yet I have? I'm sure you'll find someone who will put up with you. Some sort of companion."

Pumbaa nodded his wide head with a smile, though he was not sure if he should be smiling or not because he was not liking being alone though he didn't really have a choice cause he... well.. didn't. "Eh, I am such a heavy sleeper that I usually zonk out quicker than a snail down the gullet. But... I suppose osme places I sleep better than others.." He said with a shrug, He lowered his head to snuff at the ground with his wide nose... weaving side to side. He lifted his head after he was satisified, before looking too her.
"Well, I had a companion... but... he left..." He said with a shrug. "His name was Timon... he was my bestest buddy in the world and he... wanted to leave I guess. So he did." He added sadly.
