Listen, I know Heroes wasn't really the BEST game, but one thing I did know is that the new Metal Sonic did look cool. (not the monster version, the one with the cape version)
So does anyone have any art of him? And any idea what his name was? I remember reading something on Sonic Cult that it was "Metal Sonic XVII" or something like that....
Any ideas? Or pictures for that matter

Just Metal Sonic. The big dragon-like final form is Metal Overlord, but his regular upgraded appearance doesn't call for an extra name.
Can't say I've ever seen any artwork, apart from that neat drawing they had over at Sonic Cult's Sonic Heroes section.

I've not seen any myself. I personally prefer the look he has when you beat Overlord (but hey, I think SH is an awsm game!)

Well, note that the guy appears for all of 6 seconds in the game itself, it's really hard to get a look at him. There is quite a bit of fan-art sprinkled around the net. Best, in my opinion, comes from a gifted artist called Solly. Alas, the specific picture was made specifically for a website called Sonic Cult (Which is a pretty adult rated site, and is not work/school safe) so the only way to see it would be to go to that site and look in the Sonic Heroes area.
There's no official art for Metal Overlord, though. All of Heroes' art is CGI, and they never made an image for Metal, which is just aswell because all of the original CGI Models were posted on the net long long before Sega intended them to be.

I barely played Sonic Heroes. I was really disapointed with the way it played. I'd be really interested in seeing this Metal Sonic though. Maybe he'll show up in the comic?

From what I'm told, Sonic X is going into a Heroes adaptation. Perhaps you'll get sight of him there.
As for art of the spiky fiend, try nosing around deviantART or SheezyArt. It shouldn't take too long to find some there. Bear in mind though that dA hate you and don't want you to use their built-in search unless you're a subscriber, but fortunately you can get round that in google with site:www.deviantart.com (Search text) without the parentheses.
Also, getting a good look at him in Heroes is way harder than it should be, but that's because Heroes's special stages were, frankly, rubbish. It wasn't the look or anything, it was the glitchiness. Such as that which would make Sonic and co turn round in the middle of the tube and run AWAY from the Emerald. Seriously, WTF mates?
Anyway, that's all I have to say on the topic.

Personally, the Heroes version simply reminded me of the Red Chaotix version, in terms of the general head desing and the look. Not the same, just... similar. Anyone else think so?
