I know this is an Anita Blake Guild, but I thought we should have a place to discuss Laurell K. Hamilton's other series here as well. Please discuss anything and everything having to do with Princess Meredith here.

Seduced by Moonlight, is it just recently released? I saw it while getting some manga (TT Too much for my rents to buy me), and I was just curious. Has anybody read it and can give me a quick review of what happens?
And is Merry really in love with Frost? sweatdrop She say's she is but he gets such a small part out of all the Queen's men...I think Kitto even has a larger part

I am not even sure if Merry really knows who she is in love with. It has been a while since I read Seduced by Moonlight, but I think Frost gets more play in it, if I am remembering correctly.

Some people think there is too much sex in these books, but since one of the main themes of this book is how sexually driven the fey are, it just makes sense that there is lots of sex. And now that there is a competition between Merry and Cel to see who is the first with an heir, it pretty much seems the sex isn't going to get any less.
What do you guys think? Does the sexual aspect deter from the books?

I can only go by what I have read in the first two of the Merry Gentry books (the titles escape me) but even though she (Laurell K Hamilton) puts a lot of detail into the sex scenes in doesn't really deter from the story. You just need to realise that the series is very sex driven, that sex will always be a part of it.
That said, the Anita Blake series is almost heading that way and I'm not sure that I like that.

Narniakat I think alot of people are disturbed that Anita has followed in the footsteps of Merry. *Laughs* More gore, less sex! (*goes into the actual Anita Blake discussion thread to raise a point*)

I don't mind the smut in the Merry series because that's what it started out as...all the sex in Anita is starting to annoy me though but that's saved for the Anita discussion ^^;
The books are alot of sex, but with a pretty nifty backline to it too. The courts, the different type of fey (Whatever happened to Sholto(sp?) I wanted him with Merry...), the race between Cel and Merry...=P It sounds good for me. And since I'm quite a smut fan, all the added in yummy sexual guys is fun too ^^

I loved the scene in Seduced by Moonlight with the queen out of control! I won't give spoilers, but it was amazingly written.

OK, first I want to say that I had been putting off reading the Merry Gentry series because I figured Seelie and Unseelie courts wouldn't amuse me much. I was so wrong. I love this series just as much as I love the Anita series. I need to get my hands on Seduced by Moonlight.
I absolutely adore Frost and Doyle. Andais is pretty amusing too.
As for the topic of sex. It doesn't bother me that it's a big part of the Merry Gentry series nor does it bother me that it appears in the later Anita Blake books. I do fear that it will take from Anita's plot lines though.

Yes, I love how the sex doesn't take away from the good plot, but enhances it.

I don't mind the smut level in the Merry books, because as it's been pointed out, that's how the series started. Merry is supposed to be a sexual person, unlike Anita who spent the first few books as a little bit of a prude.
Of all the Queen's Men, I like Doyle the most. He's so much more interesting, and he doesn't get all angsty and pouty like Frost. I like Rhys as well and how much more he takes interest in somewhat modern things. And Sholto; I was hoping for something between him and Merry, too. Although he did turn up toward the end of Seduced by Moonlight, so he'll probably factor into the next book.

I don't mind the smut...*grin*...not at all
My personal faves are: Kitto (he's so cute!- kinda reminds me of Nathaniel), and Frost (perfect in his own pouty little way)
