My best advide is to practice, and practice a lot. Learn sheet music, and train your ears. But most of all, have FUN. whee

Just develop your own stlye most important. Play with others not just yourself, I always seem to learn so much more when I jam with my friends or father.

That's cool. I wish so many people would stop learning the guitar though, and go for bass or drums instead. There's always a shortage (of drummers at least).

It took me three months to find a bassist for my band o.o And now, neither I nor the drummer can get within 100 feet of the guitarist's home o.o We have to wait until Feb 7 to practice >.<

Very true, I think many go for guitar because of its popularity. I'm trying to convince my family to let me go for violin. I think others should choose their instrument for the sound not the popularity.

That Feel Good Inc Song is fun on the bass though.

I'm learining the guitar for the opposite reason. There are only 8 people in my class (small, I know) and I'm the only one who is playing the guitar. The rest play drums, piano, flute and there is a battle going on as to who is going to play bass. I'll only play it for a little while, just to see if I like it, then when our class does band-like performances, I'll join that battle for bass!!! (Naughty me!) Its what I want to play, but I'm not fussy. Drums, guitar, whatever. My teacher said I have heaps of talent.... blaugh
