Is couldn't be happier. She was still having her nightmares, but ever since Giani had stayed the night with her, they had become fewer and far between and not as hard to handle. She had gone down to the studio in hopes of catching Giani there painting, but had found the room to be empty and his easel and canvas missing. She wasn't sure where else to find him, as she couldn't think of any other haunts he might have, so decided to go start at his room and work her way from there. Hoping up into the dorms she walked down the hall to his door, knocked, and waited with a bright smile.

The door was not locked, nor was Giani about to answer it. He was sat in his room, huddled against the wall and muttering to himself in Italian. Everything was crap, useless. What had made him think he could acomplish such a painting, to attempt to capture the beauty of a girl like Israel. It was all s**t. He offended paper by drawing meer stick men.

He had been sat like this all night. In hid pj bottoms and little else. On the wall, brush water from a smashed glass had dried to a grey stain of drips. In his painting corner the easel lay on its side, Israel's half completed painting face down on the floor.

"Idiot." He mumbled hugging his knees and digging his nails into his palms. "Worthless idiot."

After several long minutes passed, Israel's smile had faded. Chewing on her lip, she reached out and tried the doorknob. When it clicked open, she glanced down the hallway. Maybe he had just left it unlocked on accident, she thought. Well... sitting in his room and waiting for him to return was a much more productive plan than searching the campus for him, so she pushed the door open and walked inside. She closed the door behind her and walked straight over to his room. She opened the door to be greeted with an unusual sight.

"Hey Giani," she smiled softly, glancing around the room. "Did you not hear my knock?" she asked, walking inside and letting her bag slip off her shoulder to the floor. Her eyes were on the toppled easel as she walked over to his bed, but she tore them away to look down at Giani as she stood next to him, concern heavy in her eyes.

Giani looked up at Israel's soft voice and shook his head. Tears welled up in his eyes. He didn't want her to see him like this. He couldn't control it and he didn't want her to be upset.

"Leave me dolce." He sniffed shaking his head. "It's all useless." He released his grip on his palms and looked up at her. She was so beautiful. He didn't deserve to even be in her prescence. Putting his head on his knees he muttered to himself and put his hands to his hair.
"You should just leave me." He said, hoping she would go away. She couldn't see him like this, he didn't want her to.

Israel wasn't sure what to do at first. She watched him for a moment, then glanced around the room again. Chewing on her lip she crawled onto the bed and reached for his hands.

"I'm not leaving Giani. What's wrong? What happened?" she asked softly.

"I'm wrong." He said looking up into her eyes. She shouldn't touch hi,. He thought. What if his lack of talent rubbed off on her. He would never forgive himself.
"I have no skill. My work is like a three year old who cannot draw." He sniffed as tears rolled down his cheeks. "I am useles dolce. You shouldn't be near me."

Israel looked down at his hands and frowned at the nailmarks he had dug into his palms. She looked up at him at his answer and dropped his hands to wipe away his tears.

"How could you say that Giani? Any of that? You're a great artist and I want nothing more than to be with you all the time," she smiled softly, moving closer to him and wiping away fresh tears that rolled down his cheeks. So this is what he had feared, she thought to herself. She wondered what on earth had sparked this from her happy, carefree, smiling Giani.

"Why are you saying you have no talent?" she asked softly.

As she wiped his tears away Giani looked up at her. Such gentle, fond gestures. He didn't deserve them. Sniffing again he wrapped his arms around her ahd held her tightly.
"I don't know why it happens." He said swallowing. "Sometimes I wake up, I look at my work and it looks terrible. I hate it. I can't bare to look at the picture, because it seems so wrong, as do I."

He shook his head. "I can't explain."

Israel let him hold her and listened to him. When it seemed that he had stopped, she reached up and gently pushed herself a little ways away from him so she could look up into his eyes. He looked so sad and lost. It nearly broke her heart to see him like this. She reached up and ran her hand through his mussed hair, straightening it out a little.

"It's okay Giani. You don't have to explain it. So you're having a bad day today. I can help you make it better. And don't try to tell me no and make me leave. I won't do it," she said with a bit of a stubborn glare.

"I don't want you to go." He said in a small voice. "I just don't want you to see me like this." He sniffed again and pulled her back towards him. He hadn't had one of these days for a long time. Maybe it was the stress from school, paintings. Or maybe it was just nothing, there was no reason for it.

"I hate not understanding." He said, screwing his eyes shut and burying his head in her thin shoulder.

Israel rested her head on top of his and ran her fingers through his hair. She tried to think of what she could do to make it better for him, but she really had no clue. Not when it seemed to have started of it's own accord. She shifted to lift his head from her shoulder and cup his face between her small hands.

"Come on... we're getting out of here for a bit. You're going to take a shower and then we're going for a walk. I won't have you stay cooped up in this room. Not like this," she smiled slightly. She kissed his forehead and took both of his hands in hers to try to pull him to his feet as she pulled away.

"O.k" He said. Standing though he wasn't sure why. He knew she couldn't help him, but he could do with getting out for a bit.
Letting go of her hands he grabbed some clothes and dissapeared into the bathroom.

He took a long, hot shower. Washing his hair and standing under the running water for a little extra time trying to shake his negative thoughts.
When he was ready he towled himself dry, dressed and stepped back out into the room. Forcing his lips into a smile.
"Let's go." He said quietly.

Is was encouraged by his willingness to listen to her and when he disappeared into his bathroom, she looked around his room again. She walked over to one of the walls and ran a hand down the dried watered down paint that seemed to have exploded onto it. Her foot crunched on something and she looked down to see broken glass. She glanced over at the bathroom when she heard the water turn on and went to the kitchen in search of a broom, dustpan, and dish cloth. She returned to his room and cleaned up the mess for him.

When she had replaced everything where it belonged she returned again to his room and stood over the toppled easel for a long moment with her hands on her hips. She was almost half afraid to look at the canvas that was lying face down on the floor. Glancing over at the bathroom door, she bent down and righted the easel. She then knelt down and picked up the canvas. Slowly she turned it around and blinked. It was her portrait. She knew it was missing from the studio, but hadn't thought he would bring it up here to work on it. It was only half done, but it looked amazing. She couldn't take her eyes off of it. Slowly, she rose to her feet with the canvas in her hands and turned to the easel. She placed it on the wooden structure and sat down on the end of his bed to look at the painting from a bit of a distance.

She had been staring at his work for a long while when she heard the water turn off in the shower. She rose to her feet and slipped her hands into her back pockets as she faced the bathroom door and waited for him to emerge. She gave him a warm smile. He looked slightly better, but the forced smile didn't do him justice. She walked up to him and slipped her arms around him. She hugged him tightly for a moment, then pulled away and took his hand in hers.

"This will make you feel better. I promise," she smiled up at him as she led the way out of his bedroom.

Giani looked around the room that Israel had straightened out for him. His eyes skimmed over the painting but did not linger there. In his eyes it was still terrible.
"You are too good to me dolce." He said as she held him. When she took her hand in his he squeezed it and followed her outside.
"Did you have anywhere in particular you wanted to walk to?" He asked removing his hand from hers and slipping it around her shoulders.

Is wrapped her arm around his waist as his arm draped around her shoulders.

"No. I really don't. But that's okay right? So I can't whisk you away on a nifty motorbike," she shrugged and grinned up at him. "I'll just have to create my own adventure to cheer you up within walking distance," she teased and rested her head against him. She thought for a minute of where a good place to go would be and looked back up at him.

"I'll bet you haven't eaten all day. Is there anything you would like?" she asked.
