It was late afternoon by the time Ra finished his biology project. A slow painstaking process of typing the whole thing up one handed. It had taken him over a week and he was finally done. Free to enjoy tea and crap TV.
Yawning he made his way out into the shared area to put the kettle on. It was hard getting used to doing things one handed but he seemed to be getting the hang of it, it just took twice as long.

Scarlett returned home after another morning spent at the dance studios. Thanks to a tip from her instructor, she used the showers in the locker rooms instead of having to trek across campus all smelly and sweaty. The weather was certainly warming up recently, but the house folks were still reluctant to turn on the air conditioning. What a bother, she thought, keying into the room.
Opening the door, she saw an unfamiliar sight: her roommate home, outside of his den of doom, and in the kitchen. Dropping her bag on the floor near the table, she caught sight of his hand. Her eyes widened with panic, but she knew better than to harass him about it.
"Hey there, stranger," Scarlett smiled, leaning against the door frame. "Mind if I join you for a tea break. It's been ages you know. Want me to give you a hand with that?"

Ra looked up at his roommate and smiled, grabbing one of the tea boxes from the cupboard with one hand. The awkwardly shapped box slipped from his grasp crashing to the floor and spilling tea everywhere.
"s**t." He said shaking his head. "Sure you can join me, and a hand woud be good." He said beding down to pick the box up and try to rescue some of the tea.

Scarlett picked up the box and carefully laid it on the counter. Taking a couple of paper towels and a bowl, she handed half to Ra, and began scooping tea up off the floor.
"Either you've been playing sports too hard, or Chii's been roughing you up again," Scarlett smiled, trying make Ra do the same. "I'm I going to need to tell her to be gentler with you. You're so delicate, Ra."
She giggled, hoping that he would take her playfulness lightly, and not overreact. It had been the first time in ages since they've seen each other, and Scarlett quite happy to see her suitemate again. She sighed lightly, it was a shame to see all that tea go to waste. Wondering what they would do about it, she continued. "Look at it this way. We'll get to try a blend of tea that will be a complete surprise. I don't mind the 10 second rule if you don't."

Ra smirked at her assumption of his injury and grabbed two cups from the cupboard.
"She's out of town actually." He laughed watching her pick up the tea. "I got involved in an argument I shouldn't have and came off worse for it. "He explained gesturing to his arm. He wasn't sure if he wanted to tell her the whole story. He didn't want to scare her with the details.
"My grandfather always says tea without a little dust and dirt is not true tea." He smiled, spooning what was left into the box into a teapot. "And he's an expert so we can take his word for it."

"Oh really? I wondered why I hadn't seen her in class lately. I hope everything's okay with her," Scarlett nodded, listening carefully. Her eyes widened when Ra mentioned a scuffle. "I-I'm glad that you're okay. Well, if there was the possibility of things being worse that is. If there's anything I can do for you..."
Scarlett knew better than to offer help to an independent guy like Ra, who proved that he's very capable of handling his own affairs. She couldn't keep herself from offering help, even if she wanted to. Seeing someone close to her injured make Scarlett worry terribly, but she knew that if Ra wanted to tell her the truth, it was best to let him do the talking and not bother nagging him until he broke.
"You're grandfather and mine are in agreement then," Scarlett giggled, wiping up the unsalvagable tea dust with a cloth. "He says the same thing about grilled food. 'Gives it a more earthy taste. Makes you strong like horse.'" Scarlett chuckled to herself, thinking about her grandfather's crazy ideas and impersonating his thick accent.

Ra shook his head at her offer of help.
"Nope, I'm fine. Well, unless you have some kind of healing powers I don't know about." He smirked as he poured the boiling water into the teapot.
He carried the pot over to the sofa and sat down. It really had been ages since they had last spoken.
"Been up to anything interesting lately," He asked sitting cross legged and easing back into the cushions.

"Me? Nope, no magical powers unless you count my cooking as one," Scarlett said, carrying the cups over on a tray. "Shall I get something dessert-type to enjoy with the tea?"
Scarlett mulled over Rashne's question. There was dance, dance, possibly something with Zavier, getting into Student Council, the debacle with Sora and Xel, and Astrology Club...and dance. Those were the only things that had been of interest recently for her, half of which she was certain Ra would have zero interest in. Figuring that club would be the safest of the topics, that's the one she chose.
"Did you enjoy playing that Festival of the Dead event in Astrology Club?" Scarlett said thoughtfully, still puzzled why her roommate suddenly switched seats on her when Jun sat with them. "The game was really intense. It's been ages since I played a game that interesting. Oh and Jun's just a classmate. No funny business going on there. I was worried you might think something was up since you changed seats so quickly."

Ra looked up at her as she mentioned the astrology club and shook his head.
"Not really." He said taking a cup in his hands. "It made Obie and I really sick." He shuddered at the thought of the headaches that had taken weeks to get over. "Though, I suppose playing it was kinda fun."
He frowned at her next assumption and burst out laughing.
"Why would I switch seats if I thought you guys had something going on?" He asked shaking his head a little. " I spotted Obie and I thought I'd go over and say hi. He seems like a nice guy though. Maybe you two should hook up." He smirked at her and took a sip of tea.

"You had bad headaches? I had all kinds of muscle pains, as if I ran a triathalon or something," Scarlett said, reflecting on sluggish she felt afterwards. "How is Obie? I havent' talked to her in ages. She's a really lovely girl."
Scarlett found Ra's suggestion amusing and she almost started laughing. Jun was sweet and really cute, but Zavier was the one who caught her eye and heart. "I-- actually met a guy a couple of months ago, but his name is Zavier. He's from the UK and really into tea, too." She wanted to mention the amazing sidekick, Dakota, which also stole her heart, but she had a promise to Zav not to say anything about him.
"There have been so many new trasnfer students recently," Scarlett said, thoughtfully between sips. "I barely see the people I do know, and suddenly there are all these new people too. I just don't know where to start, but I keep running into people in the Arts Academy."

"So that's where you've been hiding." Ra smirked at her mention of the guy. He hadn't met him, but then there were plenty of new students just like she said.
"Obie's fine." He said with a small shrug. "I need to give her a call actually. She's my lab partner and our bio report is due next week."
He looked up at the mention of the arts academy.
"How's your dancing going?"He asked conversationally.

"She's also tutoring me in history," Scarlett smiled, wishing she had a head for classes like Obie and Ra. "I haven't really been with Zavier much, but I also got to see Kenji in what felt like after an eternity. I've also been busy with getting acquainted with Student Council."
Leaning back on the couch, she pulled over a chair with her socked feet, using it as a foot rest.
"For some reason, I've been a little distracted lately," Scarlett sighed, thinking about her inbility to focus between sips of tea. "I've been branching out from the traditional ballet and flamenco into more modern dance. I need to be careful as there are some new dancers in the academy, and I worry about backstage drama if the department puts together a show. Some of the girls can be... divas..."

Ra smirked at her discussions of ballet and student council. He admired her drive to get involved. He would much rather take the easy ride through school and sit on the sidelines.
"Correction. all girls are divas." He laughed. "When you get a lot of girls together, diva is an understatement."
He took a sip of tea and looked out across the room.
"I know what you mean about being distracted." He admitted. "You couldn't pay me to focus at the moment."

"You think so? What does that make all guys then? Scarlett said, sticking out her tongue playfully. "More importantly what do you call a large group of guys?"
Scarlett set her mug on the table top, making sure to nab a coaster. Sighing deeply, it felt soothing to just sit and talk with Ra.
"I just feel like my daily routine is so... regimented. I feel restless. What about you?" Scarlett said thoughtfully, looking at the TV guide. "There needs to be something to liven things up on campus. I don't know what, but I'd settle for anything. A picnic, a field trip, hell even a sports festival. Just something to get every out of the dorms and off the books for a while."

Ra raised an eyebrow.
"Guys don't tend to hand around in big groups." He said with a smirk. "What do you think a large group of guys should be called?"
He nodded at her thoughts on the source of her restlessness.
"I agree. Things seem to have gotten a little crazy round here lately. i think everyone could do with a fun break of some kind."
