Randee stood at the beach, staring out to the horizion. The sun was setting and the sky was beautiful shades of pink, orange and yellow. The ocean reflected this beautiful image on this perfect day. A breeze blew by, blowing Randee's hair into the wind.
Randee turned to look at her companion and best friend, Leah, but she wasn't there. She had probably gone out to look for food. Randee thought nothing more of it and continued to look out into the sunset.

Alona's feet suck softly into the sand. She was looking for her son Moki and at least hoped the footprints in the sand would lead her to him. But when she reach the end she was wrong. It was a mare, with strips zig zagging across her body. Alona gave her a smile.
"Hello" Alona said in a soft voice not to startle her by sneaking up.

Randee jumped a little, suprised.
"Hello, sorry," said Randee, embarrassed at her reaction. "I'm Randee, have you seen a white mountain lion with black spots?""

"I'm sorry I am afraid I haven't, I have been looking for my son Moki, my name is Alona" she replied simply with a smile as her her eyes darted across the beach to see if any other soquili was out.

"Sorry, Alona, but I haven't seen him," said Randee. "Moki, what a beautiful name."
"What does Moki look like?" asked Randee. "Maybe we can look for Leah and Moki together?"

"Hmm... he is dark brown with black and white up his legs.... with a lighter brown mane and tail tipped in black.. and he is very agile" Alona said with a have thought as if trying to imagine her son in her mind.
Alona gave a small chuckle "I guess it would be better if two looked for two" she said with a nod.

"Okay, I'll keep my eyes open for him," nodded Randee. "We should probably check somewhere else, cover more land."

"Yes that would be best" Alona said as her soft brown eyes darted once more around the beech before she headed in a direction.

Randee chased after Alona.
"So, Moki is your son?" asked Randee. "That's amazing. I hope to have children someday myself."

Alona gave a small chuckle.
"Yes Moki is my son. Children are a wonderful thing, the sad thing though is watching them grow up and leave but sometimes it is all worth it... do you have a mate Randee?" Alona asked out of the blue.

"No, I don't," said Randee. "And you? Do you have a mate?"

Alona gave a small laugh. "I have mate named Cyrus, he is male leader of my herd and one of my closes friends" she said with a swift nod. "I am sure you will find a mate though you are a pretty mare" she said with a smile.

Alona stopped for a moment to think. "Love..sort of felt like a flower that had just bloomed on a sweet midnight, the fragrance sort of lingering but with a strong sense of desire to be with there, in a way love is sort of like a strong emotion of wanting to be with that person and caring about them, when you start to see you care about somone alot and always wanting to be there with them that is when you know" Alona said very dreamily.

"Well, I feel something similar to that with somebody," said Randee, blushing. "I just don't know if its love. Only time will tell, I suppose."
