Demare watched the stars above twinkle in the dark sky, laying on his back on one of the thick branches of a tree near the edge of the park. His bandaged hands were resting under his head, parts of the flesh on his face and neck darkned in some areas, as well as his hands and arms. His body was still healing after the burns he had received from Loki in the fight from a few days ago, the rest of him pretty much fine now. Only a few aches and pains here and there, but nothing unbareable. Demian had found that the cool night air was soothing, some of the burns still feeling as if they were on fire; it helped ease whatever pain he was feeling.
As his blank eyes stared up at the sky, a part of him wished he could reach up and touch them, while another part of him wished they would just fizzle out and disappear forever. Even the moon was hardly there tonight, not even a quarter full, allowing most of the area not much light. In fact, had there not been the few lamps there were around the park, the place would probably only be dimly lit, and most things wouldn't be too recognizable. Well, whatever. The demon didn't really like being here, anyway. Clare must have been doing some thinking for one reason or another to have shown up here in the first place, and he was just too lazy to go somewhere else for the moment.

Alejandro had gone out for his nightly feeding. It was unspoken between he and Lafe that the other shouldn't come with him when it was time to feed. The pooka always understand and that was good. He just.. didn't want the other boy to see that.
He was flying low over the trees and the mortals below remained blissfully unaware of him. He thanked his mental abilities for allowing him to block himself from them.. though he was sure the flyers had ways of cloaking themselves (well he knew they did but he hadn't figured it out yet.. he was new to this!).
His coat fluttered behind him as he dropped down towards a local park. It was close to home and he wanted a few minutes alone, and maybe he'd find a small animal to snack on. He was trying to forget that life he'd taken. He knew he needed mortal blood now but it was too hard not to kill. He had to work on only taking as much as he needed.
It disgusted him.
This must have been how The First felt when he found out what his race had turned into. Alex sighed to himself and fingered the fang hanging around his wrist. The First.
He wished he could have known him.
Alex was distracted by a mental signature that seemed distant but familiar to his memory. He tilted his head and followed it, until he found his body blocking out the stars from Demare's view and looking at the boy.
Oops.
He really needed more work at this flying thing. He hovered there, awkwardly, not sure what to do. He looked familiar but this hovering above his head was sort of... invasive..
"Sorry.. Do I know you?" His voice was very soft and young, unsure.

Demare didn't notice the boy at first, in a bit of a trance as he was lost in thought. As the voice filled his ears, however, he snapped back to reality, and nearly lost balance. Quickly grasping onto the branch before he fell completely, he managed to pull himself back up as he scowled at the strange child. Flying freak!
"I don't know what you're talking about..." he grumbled, taking a seat on the branch again as his wings stretched and flexed a little bit, his feathered wing ruffling its feathers. He thought about it again for a moment, however, thinking that the boy felt a little familiar. "Hmmm... It's hard to say whether or not I met you or if my other side did, but... something about you seems familiar. Musta been a long time ago."

Alex watched the other boy and tried to think. His other half? Maybe he means.. like Lafe is his other half? Sort of?
Alex lowered himself to stand on the branch. He was very petite and had impeccable balance on the branch. His lavendar eyes glowed in the dark like an animal's would and his white skin glowed ethereally in the moonlight.
"I was gone for a long time. Sort of went away." He ran the lowest of mental scans on the other. It was something he did to everyone now though he tried to keep it as inconspicuous as possible. He never knew who could sense such things.
"We may have met. At... that place." The headquarters. "I am Alejandro.."

Upon seeing the color of the other boy's eyes, something triggered in the halfling's mind. He HAD met this one before... He'd felt an odd aura about this one, as well. That's right... He was the one that reminded Clare of For'mir.
"I think I remember now... It really WAS a long time ago," Demare told him, quirking a brow a little bit. "You were with that.... fox thing. Anyway, the name's Demare. You met my other side back then."
The earlier thought crossed his mind again. This one really did remind him of For'mir... The coloration of their skin, the intense eyes... Flying without wings. He wouldn't put it past that Alex even had fangs.
"You never have seen the light of day, have you?"

"His name is Lafe." Alex's eyes narrowed. He didn't like anyone calling Lafe a 'thing'. "He is a pooka. Not a thing." What was soft in his voice hardened for just a moment. He had a bad temper, but he controlled it enough to relax once more.
"Other side?" He didn't understand. "Yes.. Yes I have seen the day. And the sun. When I was younger."
Not anymore. Alex fluffed his hair, a nervous habit, and moved closer to the trunk of the tree. He was glad he had eaten, because being in the park with the animals and even Demare.. He could hear the heartbeats all around him. It was tempting.

Demare shrugged at the correction, not really caring what Lafe was. That one, after all, he had no interest in. At the second comment, the halfling lifted a bandaged hand to tap his cheek, underneath his left eye.
"This one," he stated, referring to the white part of him, his feathered wing ruffling its feathers a little bit. "He may not have any problems simply bluttering out everything about us to everyone he meets, but I do. I prefer to leave it at... hm. I think humans call it 'multiple personalities' or some such... At least, until I feel someone can be trusted."
As Alex began to walk near the trunk of the tree, something else blurted out of his mouth, hardly able to stop the question. He didn't understand why he was even bothering with it. It was as if something deep down was being stirred up... and he didn't like it.
"What is it like... to live off of the living?" he had asked, the child quickly turning his eyes toward the ground. It's not like he actually cared. Maybe it was simple curiosity.

Alex turned his head sharply to the question and narrowed his eyes. Apparently this one knew of vampires and recognized Alex as one of them. He was a little paranoid about it though, about what people would think.
"I.." He sat down and fluffed his hair again, "It's.. just something I need to do. Like other people need to eat. I do to. I don't kill though." He said the last part quickly. He didn't want people to think he was a killer.... even though he was. He had.
He didn't want to deeply get into how it felt. Like drunkenness almost. That was... personal. He barely knew this boy.

"Welcome to the club," the child couldn't help but grin, deciding it best not to explain why he said that. "Don't get me wrong... I live with someone who has to eat the same way. That's the only reason I even know. He won't... tell me anything about it, though. Probably for the best."
Demare turned his eyes up toward the sky again, watching the stars for a moment again.
"You live with the fo--...I mean, Lafe, right?" he said a bit idly. The thought of Chrys had returned to him for only a moment. "That means you know Wren, right?"

"It's sort of a personal thing..." Alex looked away a moment. "You say you know another like me?" He'd met a lot.. but it always excited him.
"Yes I know Wren.." A;ex fiddled with the fang on his wrist. "He's like an adoptive parent. Why? Do you know him? And his wife Halo?"

"Yeah..." he muttered, not moving his eyes at first. "His name's For'mir. We haven't seen him since winter, though. He tends to hide out somewhere until the colder seasons."
It actually made him a little sad. The vampire happened to be one of his favorite people in the house, and he rarely saw him anymore.
"I remember Wren... The name Halo sounds familiar," Demare sighed, wincing as he rested his hands down on the branch, the blisters underneath the bandages stinging a little. "Just haven't seen him in a long while. ...When you see him, can you tell him I said hello?"
The demon had really wanted to see the other, in all actuality. However, he felt something big was going to happen fairly soon, and he wasn't sure if he'd get the chance to meet with him again before or after that.
"I'd appreciate it."

"Sure I will.." Alex tilted his head and looked at the other wince. "You're.. sortof like him. I can tell." He had learned to read people's mental signatures.. at least a little. He couldn't identify them all as certain things but he could sense they were similar. Wren was mixed, so was Demare. Halo was too.. they all had a little bit of it. Alex hadn't asked. Curiosity killed the...
He looked away a little, he realized he'd been staring. "Is your arm ok?"

"We kinda are," he said after a moment, hesitating slightly. "At least... half of me is."
Demare pondered over whether or not he should answer the question. He could lie... Alex didn't exactly warrent any information about himself quite yet... However, he couldn't justify any reason to NOT say anything. What good would come of lying to someone he just met, anyway? Alex wasn't annoying like some of the others he'd met, much more tolerable than almost every girl he'd met. Besides... if he knew Wren, maybe he could be trusted as well.
"No... not really," he finally said, his eyes lulling half closed as he turned them toward his left hand. That one in particular had been hurt the most, having deflected the fire more with his left than with his right. "I got... burned pretty bad a few days ago."

"I've been burned before.." Alex tilted his head and once more fluffed his hair. He did that alot. He sat on the branch and held his knees. "But.. that's cause of the sun. I was.. pretty bad once. What happened? I found out some things to help. You know like creams and things."
Alex was being a bit nosey, but he was never around more people than Lafe usually. he didn't normally want to be. Some were nice.. some were annoying. Demare seemed ok.

Demare narrowed his eyes a little bit, wishing the memory would go away. Normally, he never regretted the things he did, and took pride in that fact. This time, however... This time he wished he'd never been there in the first place to let what had happened happen.
"I... I got in a fight," he said, lifting one hand to stare at the bandages for a moment. "My right side is more accustomed to high temperatures, but even that side got burned. My left, however... We'll just say I'm not so lucky when it comes to my left side."
That ********... fire RAT. Sometimes he thought Loki deserved to get bit the way he did. Other times, he wanted to find a way to get that copper taste out of his mouth for good.
"He's a little fire brat," he muttered, closing his eyes for a moment. "I paid him back 10 fold, but my body is still going to suffer."
