A simple, cramped arrangement of around a hundred bunk-beds per room, and a few random crates around to be used as makeshift seats for sitting around and chatting with the friends that are still alive.

Mendez flopped down on his new bunk and looked around him. Twenty-three other ODSTs were either taking naps, cleaning rifles, or playing cards, trying to get their mind off of the hell they had just left. His head sank back onto the pillow and instantly, he was asleep.

The armored SPARTAN silently wandered through the maze of beds, heading towards one in a far corner out of habit. He didn't feel a need to distance himself from the others, but also didn't care where he slept, especially since he rarely got the chance. He stopped en-route to where he was planning on resting, and swiftly checked a small pack he had taken from the depths of that ring when they decided to fall back. He checked its contents and examined several different dog tags, having forgotten he had picked them up at some point during the Flood attack. Thinking he should first deal with these before resting, he spun around on his heels and headed out of the room once more, attempting to think of the last time he slept soundly.

Michael walked out of the elevator and into the room. Some of the Marines looked up at him but most just kept on with their business. His head hurt as he tried to take in all of the happenings on Theta Halo. His mind was in a constant replay of the Marines comming out of the structure. What a horror that had been. He moved over to the side and walked down the path made by the barracks to near the back where his was. He threw himself on the matress and stared at the ceiling. His armor and helmet weighed him down but he could hardly feel it. He was used to heavy loads by now. Michael felt for his pistol on his hip and found it, releasing a comforting sigh.

Mendez woke up to be staring in the face of an ODST. "New huh?" Mendez nodded. The marine extended his hand. "Name's Eric, Eric Nyhammer. People call me Klick though, Snipin' and all." Mendez offered a small smile. "I bet I can outsnipe you anyday." "Oh, is that a challenge?" By that time a group of ten or so ODSTs gathered around and followed the two of them as they went to the range.

In the corner of the Barracks, Gunnery Sergeant Ranu Blackheart sat down heavily on his bed. Alpha Squadron'd been his hard from what he'd heard. Would Bravo do any better? His eyes slid fearfully around the room, If it did fail. He'd make sure not to come back.

The SPARTAN silently entered the barracks, casually glancing towards several Marines in a nearby corner who were crowding around a viewing monitor, probably busy watching the ring be blown to hell again. They were going to be playing it back again and again for a while now, since they'd been waiting so long to see the ring be destroyed. He knew he'd see it eventually, so he didn't truly need to see it now. He'd be patient for the time being. He was curious as to who would still be interested in the ring's destruction, but simply shrugged it off. It could be several people who had lost friends down there, which is probably true since they'd lost about sixty-three Marines from the original platoon on the ring's surface. It could also be others from the second platoon, who didn't have a chance to set foot on the ring, and remained undeployed. He didn't care either way, but found he thought about these things often without much reason as he wandered toward his own bed, failing to remember the last time he'd slept as he did.

The marine walked in from sickbay, a blood stained bandage wraped around one arm adn noded at the SPARTAN in the corner. She made her way to the small bunk near the corner, ignoring the cat-calls from the others. Brushed a raven lock of hair back behind on pale, almost blue ear and floped back on the bunk, remebering. Grabed her assult rifle and cleaned it, needing to do something even though it was always clean and always ready for battle.

Nick and Lorena moved through the barracks to a corner and sat down together. It had been a long day and either wanted to get in a fight with someone.
"You know, it gets depressing not being able to save everyone even though I try," said Cloey easing back against the wall,"But I do my best and save lives and that's what matters."
"If I have to look at another tactical screen again today I'll scream," replied Nick also sitting back, he spent the entire day almost sifting through old battles and studying the movements of different enemy fleets. He had then marked down on paper how the tactics had changed as the war progressed, but doing it for fourteen hours and spread his patience to the limit,"How about we talk about something else."
"Like what?" asked Cloey sitting up with a lopsided grin as he looked at him.
"How about Earth? The last time you got shore leave to see it," replied Nick as he looked back at her and soon both were talking about the places they'd been and the things they'd done and remembered.

*Linda walked by and gave them a smile smile.* "You guys just got back from the planet fighting?"

"No, we just got assigned here to help out," replied Nick as he looked over at her.
"Yeah, we were helping out on another planet and we got the orders to come and assist you guys whether it be land or space, so we're here. What about you?"

*Pulled up a chair and twisted it around so the back was towards them even though I was still faceing them.* "Navy stationed me out here a year and a half ago. Reach was quiet and they needed my piloting skills out on the front. Best scores in the Navy, even above most SPARTANS. Increadible reflecis, no idea why though. *Flexed the long slender fingers thoughfuly then turned my attention back to the two men.* Anyway apperently they thought my aim was good 'cause I've been fighting on the ground every other mission down."

Much had occurred in the past weeks. Theta Halo's destruction was certainly something that made you stop and gasp for those who watched it in the confines of their ships, Covenant and Humans alike. Nothing but space junk was left of Theta Halo, scraps sent whirling the frictionless space, in all directions. The Armengald wasn't much to behold now though, skeleton crew was all the kept it going...
Captain Twombley let out a irritated and some what reluctant sigh. Hopping off his own bunk, that was only his now because its former owner was killed in fighting, though he had still been listed as MIA. The Captain made his way out of the barracks, treking towards the bridge.

Lorena looked at the girl then thinking it was safe removed her cap to let the hair fall down a good six inched past military length for girls,"I hate wearing it tucked up but I don't want it cut, the only other people who've seen it like this are the ones I've saved so they aren't about to complain." Laughing she layed back and looked around,"It must be amazing to be a pilote, I've never tried. Is it really about being able to feel how your ship works?"
"I work as a tactician for the bridge as a CDR but I'm glad I'm break because I'm been studying the battles from the past for what seems like days, I spent 16 hours looking at all those battles and taking notes," said Nick as he pulled out a box from under the bunk and removed a drink from the inside,"Don't worry its not alcoholic, that would get me in trouble, its a type of drink my dad made, sweet and cool, but not really sure what it is." Laughing he took a drink and passed it to Lorena who took and drink and handed it Linda,"Want to try it?Its not bad and doesn't really got against regulations."
