Darsais Name: Darsais Name Origin: As far as anyone can tell? It's a variation of Darcy picked to look fancy on paper Designation: Walse Stage: teen Status: single Generation: prototype Height: 1.6 meters Weight: 110 lbs Hair: purple (with dyed pink, green, maroon, gold, and blue streaks. Subject to change.) Eyes: purple Skin: light Personality: Darsais's turned out bright and confident thanks to her skills at DDR. She gets along well with basically anyone and has recently gotten involved in the J-Pop scene, particularly because the colors and bubblegum sound enchant her greatly. She's basically optimistic and almost never gets mad, preferring to just laugh things off. She's known as a troublemaker at school, primarily because of numerous clashes with the vice principal over her choice of clothing. Likes: Shojo manga, J-Pop, cute things, seizure-inducingly bright colors, sweet foods, animals, Dislikes: Sitting still, rap music, spicy food, soccer

Silverah Name: Silverah "Silvy/Rah" Age: 15 Height: 5'7" Weight: A lady never tells Hair: Pink naturally, but usually dyed brown. Occasionally purple. Eyes: red Skin: dark Personality: Silvy is very sarcastic and, sorry to say, a little bit of an exhibitionist. She has a habitual streak of rudeness developed from being the only child of overbearing parents. (They thought they were excellent selective breeders, having a child with pink hair, dark skin, and red eyes. Silvy came to resent them.) She also has a habitual streak of maternal caring, especially for children who come from inanimate objects like computer chips and jars.

I am a teenager and perfectly capable of writing my own opinions on people, Mom.
Other family members
Nereida (o3o project Sidhe) My sister and absolute best friend in the WORLD. She's been there as long as I can remember, and I know that even though we're really different I can always fall back on her.
Friends
Doc Albert - (human) He built me. Does that make him my father? Or my creator?
Sophie - (human) Alia's creator. She helps out at the lab, and she's like, crazy or something.
Yvette - (human) Peaseblossom's mom. From what I remember of her, she's crazy, too.
Peaseblossom - (kybernetik) Another kybernetik, kind of like me. She's got red hair like Kluster and I think she's about the same age as me, but I haven't seen her in a while. But she's really smart and a real sweetheart.
Kluster - (Kybernetik) He's got red hair like Peaseblossom, but I don't think they're built on similar models. I know he's a prototype, like Alia and I, but I think he's a coding prototype and I'm a mechanical prototype. Or something. He's nice.
Alia - (Kybernetik) The third prototype, with Kluster and I. She's nice to hang out with, but she's a little out there. I think her circuits are messed up, but it's impolite to say that.
Jack - (Kybernetik) It's Jack Sparrow! He and I were just little kids when Nereida took the redwood out in a storm, but that didn't stop us from being there. I haven't seen him since. I think he and Gage and Dierdre moved away.
Will - (Kybernetik) Ran into him at the movies. Not much else.
Gage - (030 project Sidhe) Jack's brother. He lives down the beach from us. Nereida kissed him, but I think they moved away.
Deirdre - (o3o project Sidhe) Jack's sister. She likes ballet and fashion and we hit it off right away, but I haven't seen her lately. I think they moved.
Ronnie - (human) (AKA VOrcot) Jack, Dierdre, and Gage's mom. I think they moved away. I don't know her well.
Sei - (Fa'e) At first I thought he was a kybernetik, like me, because of the wires, but it turns out he's not. We met at the arcade. He was playing street fighter, but after we talked for a while we wound up playing DDR. He's really good for a beginner! Maybe we'll make it a regular thing.
Teagan - (Eden) I played against him in a DDR tournament and won. He's really good though. He almost beat me! I'd love a rematch.
Taji - (IOTS spirit) Taji is absolutely one of the coolest little kids I've ever met. I mean, I don't think I was this cool when I was her age.

Journal entries from Chiptime
5/25 Today my neighbor, Dr. Brune, gave me an interesting object. It's a computer chip, as far as I can tell, but he swears he'll turn it into a child next week. Me? I'm not sure if I believe him, but I guess I'll go along with it. He told me he'd been calling the thing Walse, but I don't think that's a proper name for what will apparently become a little girl, so I'm calling it (her?!) Darsais.
Doc told me she can hear and see... a little (I don't see how. She's a computer chip.) In that vein, he told me to talk to her. I feel a little silly, but okay. Guess I will.
Here's a picture of Darsais as a chip. (Isn't she the cutest colors?)

5/26 I've spent the whole day feeling silly. I've been carrying around a computer chip, talking to it, and almost expecting an answer. The Doc assured me they can't talk at this stage, but I keep wondering.
As I went about my day. Darsais close at hand, it dawned on me that in a few weeks I'll be gone for a while. Darsais will be in her young child stage by then. I have to wonder if that'll mess her up permanantly. Like, if I'm not there, will she be traumatized?
Doc's apparently having a big sale of these chips tomorrow. I guess Darsais has a head start on growth, then. smile
5/28 I'm getting a little anxious to see what Darsais will look like. I know she'll be a little girl, And the doc explained to me that the colors on her chip represent her skin, eye, and hair colors, but I'm still clueless. Since I don't think she has purple skin (I hope not!), I guess the light body of the chip tone is her skin color. It's a little pinkish! Maybe in her actual body it's a little more tan?
I guess her hair and eyes are purple, though. But I can't be sure until I see her, I think.
I hope she grows in time for us to get to know each other before I have to leave for the summer. I mean, I know that we have time now, but I can never tell if she's listening. What if she just tunes me out every time I start to talk?
I shouldn't be so insecure.
Goodnight, Darsais.

More journal stuffs
5/29 Darsais and I got a present today. In return for some certist work, Naeodin, the owner of 030, sent me what looks like a vase. The note with it says that it'll turn into a faerie child. So it seems like Darsais is going to have a younger sibling and I am fast developing a magnetism for children that grow from inanimate objects. Or inanimate objects that grow into children?
Anyways, we put a vial of seawater in the vase since the note said we had to give it a gift, an Darsais seemed to agree it was a good pick. So now we'll see about what happens.
Doc sent me a letter today. Maybe about her body? I wonder if it'll be waterproof?
-Silverah
5/31 My second day with Darsais as a toddler. We went shoping in town and tried on funny hats. Then we headed over to the lab, but everyone was leaving when we got there. We saw a boy with red hair, though - maybe he'd like to be friends?

In which Darsais Grows...Quote: And now I attempt to RP with myself! Without account hopping! Green text is the doc. Silvy continued up the walk and into the lab. "Doc?" she called, smelling coffee. "Doc?" She headed towards the break room, where the scent seemed strongest. "You said you wanted me to come by?" The Doc, who was hunched over his coffee, looked up at Silverah. "What? Oh! Yes! Do you have Darsais with you? Yes? Good! Come right this way."
All thoughts of coffee long gone, Doc lead the young woman into the lab. he had work to do! Silvy shrugged and followed the Doc. "What's this about? Darsais's body?" They headed into the lab, past all sorts of complicated machinery and computers until they faced two child-sized gurneys draped with white sheets. Doc approached the slightly smaller of the two and whipped off the sheet. Lying on the platform was a small, pale girl clothed in jeans, a sweater, and a rediculously long scarf. Her short purple hair fell back from her expressionless face.
"Meet Darsais," said the Doc, taking the chip from Silvy. There was a tangible apprehension in the air. The doc flipped up a panel in the child's scalp and slid the chip in. There was a mechanical whirring and then...Slowly, Darsais awoke. The ceiling spun in and out of focus, and the flourescent track lighting on the ceiling danced. She'd been here just a moment ago, hadn't she, but now it was much clearer...
Her fingers twitched - wow! This was new! Since when did she have fingers! and legs! She had legs, too! Torso? Arms? feet? Head? Yes! All there!
Voice box? Yes, she discovered, just not programmed. She'd figure that out later. Who were those people? Doc and Silvy. Had to be. She'd heard them just a minute ago. "May I?" Silverah whispered to the Doc. The scientist, knowing what she meant, nodded. Silverah hurried over to look at the child, helping her to sit up. "Brilliant," she said, picking her up and being surprised by the lightness. "Brilliant."

RP 2 - in which Darsais gets a bedroom
Silverah returned from the lab with Darsais asleep in her arms. For being constructed of metal and wires, the little girl was surprisingly light and warm. Doc had explained that Darsais's body was programmed to go into sleep mode when low on energy in order to metabolize various sugars she took in during the day. Possibly her most complicated internal system was her digestive track, which converted carbohydrates to electricity.
Fumbling to put her keys away, Silverah flipped the hall light on and opened the first door. She'd decorated Darsais's room by reasoning that if the robot behaved, thought, and learned like a child, she'd might as well have a room like one. There weren't any toys, but it was colorful and warmly decorated and had a great view of the yard.
She carried Darsais over to the bed and set her down.
"Good night."

RP 3 - In which Darsais discovers stairs
Darsais stirred slightly as morning approached and sat up. She was in a bed - had mom put her there? It was much more comfortable than being stashed in someone's pocket, that was for sure - She could see a little of the room around her in the orangey light that accompanied the gaian dawn. There was a book case, and there was a dresser, and what was that at the end of the bed - a plant? Nothing important. Darsais rolled over and climbed off the bed (and for a little girl under three feet tall, that was an endeavor in and of itself.)
She toddled quickly across the room, scarf dragging behind her, and stared at the doorknob for a moment, giving it a look that kind of said, "What do I do with this?" With a small spark of intuition, she reached up and fought her hands around it. Then she began pulling and twisting the thing until...
With a click, the door swang backwards, Taking Darsais with it. She leapt off and landed on her knees.
Pain. This was new, wasn't it? She bit back a whimper and continued into the hall, which was just as dark and silent as her room. A sense of need was bugging her - she needed to know where Mom was. The first door on her right was a coat closet. The one on her left contained the eerie Jar. Another one further down was empty, and then there was the kitchen. No Mom.
She doubled back to the begining of the hall and looked up the stairs. She'd noticed them before, but had prefered to ignore them. Now it seemed like her only option was up. But they seemed so... long! And she was just a little kid!
The journey of a thousand miles begins with one step, she thought, though she wasn't sure where she new it from. Grasping the handrail, she lifted her leg high and put it down on the first step.
She giggled at how silly she'd been - this was easy!
Another step, and another, and another, and pretty soon she was at the top. Too easy, she thought.
There was another set of doors up here, but before she could explore any of them, someone picked her up.
"Hey, kiddo," said Silverah. "What're you doing up here?"

cross-posted with Nereida's journal, which is in a private guild. gonk
There was a crash downstairs. Silverah scooped up Darsais and ran down the stairwell two at a time. She skidded to a halt in front of Jar's room. The Jar had vanished, and in its place sat a small child with green skin, blue hair, and fins on its ears and back.
Silverah stared, stunned, at the child for a moment before analyzing the situation and springing into action. "Darsais, dim the lights," she barked at the small robot girl behind her. Darsais struggled to reach the dimmer switch, but eventually did so. Silverah hurried over and kneeled to be at eye level with the child, who had curled up with its face to its knees and begun to rock back and forth, singing to itself in a soft voice that sounded like the sea.
"Are you okay?" Silverah asked, brushing a few strands of blue hair away from the child's face. The black eyes were a little creepy, but she was sure she'd get over it.
"No," replied the child, in the same wind-like voice as its singing.
"What's your name?" Silvy asked.
"N-n-n-Nereida," it replied with a whimper.
"Where's your home?"
With a flash of green skin, it pointed out the window towards the ocean. Silverah sat back and nodded thoughtfully, puzzled by the child's seeming lack of gender.
Meanwhile, Nereida had gone back to rocking back and forth and singing about the sea. Darsais came over and fought her way into her mother's lap.
In about a week and a half, Silvy had gone from no family at all to being the parent of two unusual children.
Right about now, her head hurt.

RP 5 - in which Darsais gets waterproofed
Silverah made her way into the lab, two small children in tow. One was a purple-haired kybernetik with a scarf dragging behind her. The other was a green, finned water sprite.
The purple haired one was protesting. "No! Don't wanna! Don't wanna!"
Silverah turned around in frustration. "Darsais, if you don't calm down and get waterproofed, you will not be going to the beach this summer."
"Come on," urged the green child, "We can s-s-s-swim together!"
"Don't wanna!" proclaimed the purple-haired child. "'s gonna hurt!"
"Doc!" Silverah called into the lab.
Doc strides out of the lab and looks the situation over. "Ah, Silverah, are you here to have Walse's joints waterproofed? Very well, come along." Doc called most of the Kybernetiks by their designations, even though he knew their names. Somehow he found it easier. He began to head back into the lab but paused. "The water sprite has to wait in the lobby. Authorized only in the lab. Now, right this way." He led Silverah and the squawking toddler into a different part of the lab than previously seen and picked up Darsais to put her on the workbench. "This is just a little anti-rust sealant for your elbows and knees. It's not going to hurt."
He pulled a caulking gun off the shelf and held Darsais's arm rigidly straight. "Just like this," the Doc said, putting the caulking gun against the metal of her elbow and squeezing something in. "That wasn't so bad, was it? Let's do the rest."
About three minutes later, he was done. "Okay, that's it. It was good to see you two. Have a nice summer!"
Darsais is now totally waterproof.

6/8
I've been banging around getting ready to leave for camp on the 13th. I've discussed with Darsais that she'll be staying with the Doc, but I'm not sure she understands the concept.
We'll have a lot to catch up on when I get back, but right now I need a vacation.
