if you could take back the last few Anita Blake books.....would you? Many of us think that there was too much sex in the last few,if you had the power to make LKH to rewrite them would you?

no....not really....I think that I would've added some more action in ID though and may've had Asher make an actual appearance.

I would take back ID. It was WAY racy and WAY too much sex.

As much as I b***h about the extra sex and lack of plot I wouldn't take them back. There's been some nice character development for characters like Nathaniel and Jason in the past few books. Not to mention the addition of all the new characters.
On the other hand I would totally rewrite Incubus Dreams. Not even Richard and Jean-Claude getting busy could've saved that book (If the stories continue on this path I so see that happening in the next few installments ;p). Shame too since it was a fairly decent plot as far as the Anita Blake series is concerned.

Not to mention the addition of all the new characters. My thoughts exactly. If we changed the books, they just wouldn't be the same. It's not an expression of how WE think the characters should be: it's an expression of how LKH thinks they should be. Besides, if we changed them, what would we have to gripe about? blaugh

Neko_Kitsuni it's an expression of how LKH thinks they should be. Or What will make her money. She really didn't wait long to pump this book out. I have a feeling it was for money, and not for the enjoyment of writing. She is going to kill some people off in the next book, I bet you anything.

I Think there's a point to every title to every book, including the last one Incubus Dreams.
Afterall what's an Incubus/Succubus? Someone who feeds on sex. So it makes sense why there'd be so much sex in the book. Or am I the opnly who sees that?
I haven't noticed a whole lot of sex in the other books either...then again I read romance novels for the hell of it too....-.o...

She writes because she feels that's what the characters would really do, not because she needs the money. Besides, she already killed off a character. Remember Phillip?

I have a question. Why was the book 'Cerulean Sins' called Cerulean Sins??? There was no club or anything with that...I just rememebered LKH saying cerulean blue a lot in the book (or am I being a dumbass right about now? sweatdrop ) Skyler Daratrazanoff made me think about it. Was there a place in Incubus Dreams called Incubus Dreams? (can't remember. I have yet to read it again seeing that I'm on Lunatic Cafe right now!)

I have no clue why Cerulean Sins was named the way it was. I can barely remember the story. I understand the connection between most of the titles and the stories but sometimes I don't think Laurell puts as much thought into her titles as some of us may believe. I could go on and on with an explanation for ID, but I doubt she'd agree with it. Maybe she just writes a book, picks a word and shoots for something that catches your attention. Whatever the method is it works. I'd read the back of a book named "Cerulean Sins" before one that said "Musette Does St Louis". Ok, maybe thats a bad example but you get what I mean xp
And I don't think just because a book has "incubus" in the title that there should be tons of sex involved. Not without some more freakish events. It would've been better [maybe] to see Anita hunt down or be hunted by a demon with an insatiable sexual appetite. At least then I could've accepted such a pitiful ending.
