~Introduction and Navigation~

Ui Kinyomuro Lomaensu. In Commemoration of Romance. To commemorate romance is to hold it in high regards; to remember it. Without rememberance of what once was, the now would not be what it is. The same holds true for romance. The ancient traditions of chivalry and courtesy would have all been forgotten if it weren't for the few that carried them on. To commemorate romance may be one of the most important things ever done.

~Plot, scenario, and Setting~

A small town, perhaps only a few miles across sits on the edge of a dark, dense forest. It has been fifty odd years since the disaster, world-wide suffering is still common. This town is no exception. Dark times fell upon the entire world after The War. Countries split, alliances failed, war tore apart the plannet. Nuclear weapons were discharged and taken out, creating nuclear fall-out and rise to new species and mutations. It was a terrible time to live in, but even more terrible were the forgotten virtues of mankind.

This town, seeming so insignificant, held a secret. A group of survivors started a life here, all in between the ages of twelve and nineteen. They acted as part of the normal town unit, but they each and every one of them had a secret. The war had caused changes in them, both physically and mentally. Powers had been bestowed upon them, blessings and curses alike. It was because of these gifts that they stayed in hiding, fearing what people would do to them if they found out.

Long ago there had been more, but there was also a war between the "Gifted" ones. It ended in a split, a larger half fleeing into the forest that this seemingly peaceful town lay on the edge of. Now, few remain in the village, and dissapearances are increasing. Some think diplomacy is the answer, but some think they should just fight. It's time for a decision. Close friends will become enemies. Enemies will become friends. Feelings will change. Commemorations of the past will either hold strong, or falter and fade away into nothingness.

Plot

Dissapearences are becoming common. The Gifted Ones in the village must come up with a plan of action, or else their town will become nothing, and they themselves will be picked off one by one. A course of action must be implimented as to what to do. If you choose to fight, you may have to face your fears and venture into the forest. Diplomacy will have the same risk. Choose.

~Character Profiles~

In your profiles, be as descriptive and specific as possible. Also, no pictures when it asks for an appearance. We're literate and assumed seasoned role players, so I expect descent, descriptive appearance. Race must be one of four things. Human, Mutated Human, Vampyr, or Lycan{Werewolf}. On Ages, put your appeared and actual age. For weapons, please be realistic. I'm open to modern-age and feudal age weapons. Powers will be limitted to two. I'll tell you what you can and cannot have. When it asks for a Side, pick either "Forest", for the ones who fled into the village. We can call them the "Bad guys". Either that, or "Village", refered to as the "Good guys".

~Characters~

This is where the characters are put.
O:

Village

Username: Nephthys Assyria
Character Name: Mercutio Menzinius
Race: Mutated Human (He remains unaware)
Ethnicity: Caucasian [White...reeeeally white]
Age: 19
Side: Begrudgingly, Good guys
Appearance: Mercutio stands at average height, 5' 9" and is unusually skinny no matter how much he eats or execises in an attempt to change that fact. His skin is very pale and his a completely colorless white. Thanks to unusually long but entirely natural incisors, if he tries, (and he occasionally has), he can actually be readily mistaken for a vampyr, just so long as a real vampyr doesn't come along and disprove that fact.
Personality: Exceedingly smart and logical, he prides himself on being able to solve more or less any problem presented to him. He is fond of sarcasm, hates his glasses, and pretends to despise anyone who has a tongue and mind sharp enough to match his own, though in all honesty these equal rivals are creatures he strains for. Unfortunately, it seems there are very few left, anymore, as he constantly sharpens his wit and has few scruples about letting stinging insults fly. Inwardly, he is as emotional as anyone, but to all appearances he is cold enough that many people think he is a mutated human, his longer teeth, pale complexion and general distaste for human contact seems to support this theory, which he is happy to believe is incorrect and proof of human stupidity.
Weapons: Does a sharp tongue classify? If not, we'll move on to the arsenal of needles he keeps hidden and readily accessible on his person at all times. Some are poison tipped, most are simple needles. A few years of training when he was young provides him with enough accuracy that both are equally dangerous.
Powers: Logic? Otherwise, he has none that he knows of. IN reality, however, his affinity for avains is not entirely natural.
Brief Bio: When he was younger, Mercutio fancied himself a future veterinarian, regardless of the fact that he disliked most animals. This was because he was unusually fond of birds, any and all. He could match their calls and catch them with ease, some of the smaller ones even came to him. At one point he had well over thirty living in his home. Then he brought himself home a predatory bird, a red hawk to be precise. It seemed small and harmless enough, even though he knew it was a natural predator for his other pets. Besides, he was certain he could keep it tethered.
-It chewed through the tether on the first night and by that morning twenty nine of his birds were dead and the hawk had flown the coop. The only survivor was a hatchling which might not even have been born when the hunt took place. This particular hatchling was then named Benvolio and has been his particular favorite living thing since. Anyone to mention the fact that he was actually a respectably normal child socially until that day will be shot in the head.
-After this point, Mercutio took to every form of mental exercise he could think of and began practicing with his needles. He became colder to the outside world, and concluded that, except Benvolio, all non-sentient non-avian living things could just go rot. He's still questioning whether Benvolio classifies as a dumb animal, since the bird seems to have taken to his mental exercises as much as he did. Being excused on both counts would make him much more comfortable using Benvolio as most people use a best friend.
-He has recently taken to planning security measures for the town, ones he is rather certain would work flawlessly. However, he does not tell people of them, and simply scoffs when they try to think of plans in his vicinity.
-He remains blissfully unaware of his mutation, and to date has never once questioned his uncanny ability with birds, though he does occasionally wonder why Benvolio does not migrate.
Other: N/A

Username: Metanaito
Character Name: Aaron Greenlow
Race: Mutated Human
Ethnicity: Caucasian
Age: 17
Side: Village
Appearance: Aaron has long blonde hair kept in a ponytail, that reaches to about his hips. He has pale skin with no freckles or blemishes, and he has beautiful ice-blue eyes that can mesmerize almost anyone. He is 5'9" and fairly skinny, except for a bit of muscle on his arms. His face is slightly boyish, but he still looks his age.
Personality: Aaron is kind to others, and very generous. He thinks of others first, which fits his powers perfectly. He is sweet, perhaps a little TOO sweet, and he would protect the village with his life.
Weapons: None, except his fists.
Powers: He only has two abilities that he knows of - his power to heal and his powers of agility. He is able to move at 10 times the normal speed of a human, and he can heal anyone rapidly but himself.
Brief Bio: Aaron moved to the village when his older brother was killed in the war. He was near a nuclear blast when it went off, and found out about his powers when he was entering a devastated town near the blast. He found a little girl with several broken bones, and gently touched her arm. Instantly it became better, and he used his powers to heal her completely. Unfortunately, as he fully healed her, a few survivors saw and chased him away, fearing what else he could do. He realized that he was a freak and feared his powers for a long time, until he realized that he wasn't helping anyone with his powers. He now lives in the village that was established by mutated humans.
Other: Aaron's only weakness besides his inability to heal himself is his weakness for chocolate.

Username: Priestess_Setphia
Character Name: Messiah "Missy" Lyn
Race: Mutated Human
Ethnicity: English
Age: Sixteen, which is also what she appears to be.
Side: Village
Appearance: Messiah Lyn stands at about 5'6", making her about average height for her age. Long black hair is often a bit unruly, pulled back into a high ponytail with little effort or concern, her appearance having never meant too much to her. Sharp blue eyes are often partly shielded by her bangs, but her indifference and unwillingness to care never fails to make themselves apparent within them. Often a fan of wearing black leather, Messiah's style can neither be considered overly daring nor conservative, but certainly doesn't seem to give her much problems when it comes to fighting in them.
Personality: Clever and witty, Messiah is extremely observant, preferring to gather as much information as possible instead of standing idly by. Her coolly spoken words can either bring distress or assurance depending on who you are, and she tends to know much more than she lets on. An intellectual of sorts by nature, it's rare that Messiah will ever openly reveal her intentions or secrets unless she feels it's necessary. In all honesty, she likes her ways of privacy and mystery and acts upon it- So much so that sometimes others won't notice her presence until she announces herself. Messiah had always been the type to uphold her obligations while at the same time, still holding a strong sense of self. Though she doesn't openly demand it, she expects to be treated with a decent level of respect and does not take too well to those who insult her, nor those who doubt her intelligence and abilities. Despite her harsh and rather nonchalant composure, Missy does have her shares of insecurities and can sometimes, perhaps, be described as stubborn and power hungry. Very rarely is Messiah ever sarcastic, since she prefers to simply state what she thinks without wasting time. Also, she has a rather low tolerance of alcohol, which was proven when she tried it at the age of thirteen.
Weapons: [x] The Naginata [/x]
Powers: Messiah can, as peculiar as it might be, understand any language spoken to her. If she has heard a language once, all other times she will be able to understand and speak it almost fluently, as well as turn it into mediocre script. She can understand an animal's way of communication, bur just barely, and has to have heard the language before hand at least twice in order to write it perfectly.
Brief Bio: Messiah had tried her best to avoid getting involved in the war as if it were a plague, believing firmly that it not only didn't involve her, but also didn't deserve her recognition. Though some believed her ideals to be pompous, Messiah merely didn't wish to fight battles that did not concern her. However, despite her efforts to keep to herself, the results of the nuclear waste ended up effecting her and she found that she understood more than she should whoever someone of a completely different ethnicity spoke to her. No longer did she have the struggle with translating the preaching of another- It was all too clear. Messiah took her place in the village as a mutated human, never allowing her true feelings on the issues to be clearly known. She never took particular interest in the differences between and the humans and mutants, due to the fact they were all one and the same to her.
Other: She actually doesn't like being called "Missy" but anyone unless she knows them on a more personal level, but the nickname has been stuck on her since she was a child. Messiah has long since given up protesting and merely scowls whenever someone calls her as such.

Forest

Username: Illicit Romance.
Character Name: Gabriel Mo'Koban Kiliath.
Race: Vampyr.
Ethnicity: Originally Korean.
Age: Appears to be nineteen, but is actually 74.
Side: Forest
Appearance: Long silver hair flows smoothly down a slender back, cascading in shining tresses. A lean, fit body is wrapped in blank white skin, seeming to be devoid of melanin. Two spheres of dead blue with a pitch black pupil stare out from a calm, thoughful face. The pupils run virtical, as a cats. Always seen in all black, Gabriel's adornings are, in modern tongue, black cargo pants, heavy leather combat boots, a skin-tight black shirt, and a long black trenchcoat that enlcoses his entire body, save for his front.
Personality: Dark and devoid, Gabriel seems to lack any emotion. In reality, he's a calm being, never quick to anger, but always maintaining a serene persona. When he is angered, his surroundings seem to tremble with his rage. One of the best fighters of the entire forest, he is not one to be trifled with. Unknown to any though, he holds a deeply romantic side inside of him, but those who get close enough to know this either end up dead, afraid, or seriously injured. Gabriel is alone.
Weapons: Carries two Sig Sauer style pistols on each hip. A long double-edged Naginata slants at an angle on his back. The pole is black, with red veins lining all the way up both ends of the shaft. The blades are gleeming silver, curved slightly back. Gabriel also carries a single, medium-length katana on his left hip, also silver.
Powers: Light manipulation.
Brief Bio: Enlisted in the war at age seventeen, Gabriel faught for two long years. At the end of it, he had gained nothing but scars and a distilled spirit. After the nuclear fallout, the changes he underwent cast him into darkness for years. He finally ermerged as a different being, barely man. He commanded many of his comrades in the battle with the other Gited Ones, but eventually fled into the forest to hide for years, just waiting for their moment.
Other: N/A

Username:
Character Name: Avio Cirrus
Race: Mutated Human
Ethnicity: Origionally American
Age: Appears around 29, but is actually 19
Side: Forest
Appearance: .[Visual Image] As rugged as he may appear, with the contours of his face slightly tinged with fragments of hair, a slight goatee no larger than his trim, and no actual beard to speak of. His rogue-like appearance not only shows in his face, but his body as well. Rather skinny, yet muscular around the biceps and forearms. He stands around 6' 1" and usually wears a long trenchcoat with a white undershirt and a silver cross for an amulet. His eyes have been darkened by the times he has seen and witnessed first hand the horrors and realities of true combat and war. They are now green, lifeless orbs filled with nothing but lost memories and despair.

Personality: Avio is but a lone-ranger sort of person, not used to being with, and possably living with another person. It was against his best judgements to find a slave for himself, but otherworldly troubles that he has forseen demanded that he finds someone to protect. He may be that rogue-type, but he is still kind and polite to others, though not saying much to them. He prefers to keep his distance at mostly all costs and feels rather awkward when people approach him directly
Weapons: Avio carries one of two weapons with him at all times. The other he only carries with him when needed. The first being his favorite; an emerald-colored steel shortblade, augmented with an electro-magnetic-pulse emitter for annhilating circutry and machines. It is custom-made for perfect balance, which increases both the power that could be put behind it, as well as it can be swung rapidly at immense speeds. The second weapon in Avio's arsenal is used as a backup for his 'Emerald', or the sword he carries. It is only a simple handgun without any modifications to it. It uses about .20 calibur ammunition and can carry up to nine rounds in the magazine. Semi-automatic fire and three-round burst fire are available for use.
Powers: Chemelion (ability to blend in with surroundings)
Brief Bio: Once the war had struck the small town called 'Village', Avio's ancestors had fled towards the deep forest in search for a more...suitable establishment. This generation that fled would be considered Avio's direct parents and grandparents, though the grandparents died out from the nuclear mutations that they had suffered. Avio's parents were gifted with the same ability that he was gifted with, but only with a slight drawback. When they tried to use their chemelion ability, they could only blend in with basic surroundings and not anything more advanced, like the actual leaves on the ground floor. Instead, their skin turned its color into brown blobs with black splotches here and there.Avio's chemelion was a much more refined ability, possably made so by a form of extremely fast and forced evolution. He could recreate his surroundings exactly on his skin, making him virtually invisable to the naked eye. All his parents ever tought Avio to do was fight, hide, sneak, and assassinate key targets. That was all he has been used for since, though he has never been used for a direct assault against the village as of yet.
Other: It is expected that if Avio ever has a child, that child will be blessed with a perfect form of invisibility, making the child's surroundings move with him, or at least seem that way on its skin, like how invisibility is actually supposed to work. A drawback to Avio's power is that he can only duplicate his surroundings in one spot. If he moves, the camoflouge will not change according to the environment. Also, Avio can only use his power when he feels nervous; not at any other time.

Username: SirAuronPD
Character Name: Sithe Anasu
Race: Mutated Human
Ethnicity: Originally Canadian
Age: 18
Side: Forest
Appearance:Sithe Anasu Sithe's hair is a striking brown-blonde color. His eyes are an extremely dark hazel, complimenting his hair. He is a very muscular person, standing at six feet tall. He usually wears either a dark kimono-like robe, or a tank top and cargo pants, both usually dark in color.
Personality: Sithe is the type of person who is not really a loner, but is not popular either. Sometimes he is talkative, while at other times he is not. He is very confident in almost everything he does.
Weapons: Extremely sharp, and perfectly balanced Daito. It is an extremely like sword, allowing for quick slashes, and because of it's perfect balance, a lot of power can be put into the swing at well.
Powers: Super-speed. This ability allows him to almost move at the speed of sound, if the conditions are right. Most of the time he doesn't ever go that fast, because it causes pain, and also causes the muscles to start to disentegrate. He still moves extremely quickly, most of his movements exceeding one hundred kilometers an hour, but only in battle. When his movements become any faster than eighty kilometers per hour, his muscles begin to disentegrate. His muscles do heal, though, at a normal rate.
Brief Bio: An orphan from birth, Sithe survived through the war by instinct. Throughout the course of the war he saw many deaths, deaths which still haunt him. When the fallout happened, Sithe found that he had gained a particularly interesting ability. He could move at speeds in great excess of what a normal human being could acheive. Using this power he survived for many years, coming upon the people in the Forest just two years ago. Ever since he came to the Forest, he has stayed, becoming a leader in most aspects.
Other: N/A

Username: xXxUnkown_BeautyxXx
Character Name: Celia

Personality: Quiet and rebelious would be two words to describe Celia. Most of the time she is quiet and calm showing no emotion, most would think she had no emotion at all. When you fire her up she becomes quite rebelious.Celia may seem quite petite but she is very strong, probably one of the strongest in the forest. She looks as though she is harmless but that is until you piss her off.You can always tell when she is angry because her hands ball into fists and her blood red eyes glare.Deep enside of her there is a romantic side but anyone has yetto bring that out in her.It would take someone who really knew her to do so.
Weapons: Celia uses her fangs as her main weapon. You could also call her eyes a weapon. She can do many things with her eyes. She can seduce, manipulate, and mezmerize people with her eyes.
Powers: Celia only has two powers, the power of strenght.Along with the power of levitation. She can make anything float to wherever she pleases by the wave of her hand.
Brief Bio: Celia, a young girl at the age of 13 got caught up in what seemed to be a war.She was not quite sure of what was happening but she knew she was there for a reason. For 2 long years she fought in battle though the guys did not make it easy for her.Once it was over with she was what some would call mutated. She had already been a vampiric child but she now had to extra powers. For this she was shunned and decided to hide from it all. This is when she found the forest.

:: On second though, I think I'm gonna go ahead and make the first post.
It'll be easier, and it will also clarify a few things on what the Forest's camp looks like.
Hope that isn't too much of an inconvenience.
><;; ::

Dusk
As the light faded from the sky, steadily closing it's eyes to the world, the forest floor stirred. Canvases that had appeared to be leaves at day were thrown back to reveal tents and lean-twos. Tarps were moved aside to reveal an entire camp thriving with activity. People moved everywhere, hurrying to their "daily" chores.

Darkness was life to these people, these who dwelled in the night. It was the only time safe to come out, for watchful eyes were blinded by the sheet of darkness. The ones who lived in this camp town of sorts were best suited for the dark, their eyes having become accustomed to it. It was every day life to them.

A dark figure moved through the encampment, getting a wide birth by any it neared. Long silver hair swayed behind it, a dark coat swishing with every clink of every step. The sound of metal on metal was heard as each heavy bootstep was made, quietting all around it instantly. Piercing dead blue eyes looked out from a calm, pale face, seeing all around it. It's pupils stood vertically, like a cat or dragon. His gate was smooth, methodical. The eyes did not falter from their perscribed destination.

Gabriel continued through the camp calmly, trying not to heed the stares of the others. His eyes lay fixed on a monolithic tree a little ways up the make-shift path. Women, men, children, and odd creatures the like stared as he passed, saying not a word. It wasn't as if he were different from any of them, at least not outwardly.

Being a Vampyr, Gabriel was one of the handful in the entire village of hundreds. Though he never did anything to recieve attention, he was always heeded, and minded with some tone of fear. It was his backround that made him who he was, though a backround that was not actually his. His mutation of sorts had prolonged his life to that unimagineable, and he hadn't seemed to age a day in all the years they'd seen him. Labled as a loner, Gabriel was just that.

Aproaching the great tree, Gabriel stopped at the base, staring up at it in an expression that was almost in wonder. 'This meeting is going to be rather important I expect...' His thoughts rang out in his own head, unheard by any other. 'The rest of the Elders will be there, and for them all to gather at once is a rare occasion.' He sighed, brushing his fingers through his long tresses. He sometimes regretted it, being one of the founders of the camp. But then, what was there to do when you were one of the few that couldn't die naturally.

Taking a few steps forward and sighing once more, Gabriel's hand grasped a large knot on the tree, twisting it to the left. A hidden door opened slowly, into which he stepped, door closing behind him in a rush. Then, there was silence.

((It's not in the least. Now it gives me a good idea of where to start. Just curious though, what type of room were you expecting to be inside of the tree? I was thinking along the lines of a meeting hall, available for those who wished to become a part of the current matters. I'm not really sure about it, so I had figured that I'd need to ask before I do something and it be wrong.))

EDIT: ((I origionally made this an actual action post, but had made this an OOC part for right now. Didn't want to make this post a waste.))

[I was thinking that I'd just take it from where it is. I mean, I didn't have anything specific in mind. O.o
Make something up if you want.
xD
Just keep in mind...
It's a tree.

"Well, it seems as if something is bound to happen. Rare occassion this is, all of the Elders gathering at the same time. Wonder what they have to say" came a man that appeared around his mid twenties, being rather tall and wearing a lengthy black trenchcoat. That was his usual style; nothing fancy and nothing that made his stand too far out. He had directed his eyes towards the person who had just entered the meeting hall, as well as his attention. It was Avio's job to keep a head count since the area was a very confined space. "We're still waiting on them to come back with a decision on our current situation and a plan of action. Any ideas of what it may say?"
PostPosted: Mon Jun 05, 2006 3:14 pm

Gabriel blinked at the voice, looking up to see the man that had spoken. "I know the main issue is whether or not we should take a more agressive stand against the Village." he said calmly, gliding over to take a seat at a long table. His voice was smooth as silk, not wavering nor faltering once. "I expect we'll just get what we usually do, though, even if all the Elders are together. We'll just conduct a few raids, think we've made progress, and shrink back into darkness." Everything he said was in a nonchalant way, as if he really couldn't care less.

Avio shook his head in dissapproval of the situation at hand. "That's just sad though, because you're right. We haven't done much of anything except be an annoyance. I myself have been on a few raids now and I've seen the same results over and over. There's no variation in these raids. We hit, we run, and they rebuild." His voice seemed somewhat unsettled, even to himself. Avio had become tired of being pointless and doing nothing, but he found it better, as well as he had been taught, to wait for that right moment to make a stand.
PostPosted: Tue Jun 06, 2006 11:43 pm

Leaning back in his chair, Gabriel sighed. "I really don't care much about their decision. I'll fight if I need to...It's great for getting out agression." he said with a small smirk. The smile faded though, being replaced by that of disgust. "I wish I'd killed them all back when the seperation occured."

Gabriel was one of the few that had been there all those years ago, having had his life prolonged by the Vampyrism. He'd taken part in nearly every raid, and even went solo sometimes. It'd always been him on his own anyway, having never made any sort of companion. He knew no one, and no one knew him. An enigma; that was what he was called.

((Enigma was a good word for that. Nice 3nodding ))

Lightly sighing, Avio tilted his head down for a moment. "So, the rumors are true then. How was it back then anyway? Before the seperation that is. I've only heard stories from my parents about it." He seemed a bit immature in a sense, or maybe it was just his lack of experience, but this child-like question from Avio certainly wouldn't help him out to gain a bit of respect, but only impair that aspect.
