Yay! blaugh hehee... I wish I'd got to keep the F horn I used my sr. year, but it was the schools... and wasn't terribly great anyway... didn't even have a trigger! *lol*

I post, because I did play the French Horn for about a year, in middle school. And I'm still befuddled by the very SMALL mouthpiece!

awwe, oggy *pats his shoulder* I love the mouthpiece... and pretty much everything about it. Especially the sound! .... I was never able to stand playing by myself on trumpet, but on the french horn I can. *lol*

Aryah awwe, oggy *pats his shoulder* I love the mouthpiece... and pretty much everything about it. Especially the sound! .... I was never able to stand playing by myself on trumpet, but on the french horn I can. *lol* But the mouthpiece is so SMALL! Plus, the mellophone's hell to march. Big flared bell... blaugh

I was never able to stand playing by myself on trumpet, but on the french horn I can. *lol* But the mouthpiece is so SMALL! Plus, the mellophone's hell to march. Big flared bell... blaugh I wouldn't know, I never marched an instrument. I was in.... GUARD!!! blaugh So, I never had to deal w/ the mellophone, save having a solow w/ one once. xp

Because it seems that everytime someone at my school wants to march, but doesn't play a marching instrument (other than french horn), like oboe, they play mellophone in marching band. There was a bass clarinetist who played Bb clarinet for two years then switched to mellophone, too.

And, it'd never happen at my school, since all the people that play oboe/bassoon play them as a secondary instrument, and started on clarinet. Well, except for our bassoon player last year, but he was drum major... <.< >.>

Woot! Frech Horn Rocks !!! xd I'm not section leader, but that's ok. Mello is ok too. I just don't really like the sound a mello makes.

I WAS going to play F Horn . . . my director made my class choose brass instruments (I wanted to play flute oringally) and so I was down to trumpet and horn and I went with trumpet becuase the case was easier to carry. xp That's horrible . . . I know whee
