Okay we needed some new topics and since I watched a show on Ghosts I thought why not see what people think of them. Well many have said that they have seen ghosts but others say it can easily be explained or maybe they just thought they seen them. So how do you feel about them?
~*~ Discuss ~*~ Ghosts Do you believe in ghosts? (Why or why not?) Did you ever see a ghost or if not would you really want to? Why is it that only some houses are haunted?

Well most of the things I see of ghosts on TV and stuff seem to be a load of bull. I mean, it's not hard to edit things now days. Anyway, I can't really say my standing since there's really nothing to prove or disprove that they exist. Although I'm leaning far more towards non-existence than existance.
Anyway, as far as it goes, I don't say I'd really want to see a host, since If i saw one, that means I'd probably be a pretty bad position. Otherwise they'd really have no reason to show themself. I mean, sure, some i wouldn't mind, but generally, I doubt a ghost would show up around me unless it wanted me dead, since I generally don't look like a helpful person.
As far as being haunted is concerned, it's not just some houses. Well, not in Japanese culture. It depends on the ghost. Some would be anchored to an area, person, or thing, while other you might find wandering the streets. Even some with their hands sticking out of TVs, showing up in a subway just outside of the train, in a car, in someone's house, or their hand on someone's back as if to guide them. Anyway, that IF the stuff I've seen is real, which I doudt to a freakish high degree. I mean, if they were real wy the hell doesn't this kind of s**t show up anywhere but Japan? Well, technically i guess if we're getting supernatural Japan could be some sort of spiritualhub in which ghosts have more presence do to high spiritual energy in the general area.
Also some houses are considered more haunted than others because events that have taken place in or around them that makes them more likely to have a lingering spirit. For example, if you came across a house no one has lived in for a while because there were a huge number of people brought in there and killed in a painful way. Such as being tied down undergoing chinese water torture until they die, or having their skin ripped off and being rolled in salt.
Well, that's my basic perspective on things.

Yeah most of them say that its just edited. I can't really say I believe in ghosts but I'm not sure. I know I have seen alot of things that were weird but I would not want to see a ghost if the do exist.
There has been alot of interesting storys about ghosts but you don't know if people made them up. Without evidence you can't prove that you seen one. My dad was telling me that you can scare yourself to that point where you'll think you see something. Like, he said that one day he was with his friend and they were telling each other ghost stories and they thought they seen some post or something move and he said it scared them but thats only because of what they had said. That was a long time ago but still I'm just saying if someone looks hard enough they can say anything was because of a ghost. 3nodding

Haha! Tat makes sense! There's a shinto belief that if you're talking about spirits that they'll come to your area. Something like that. maybe that's where it comes from. It's funny because at the beginning of those TV shows they seriously have a shinto preist doing a ceremony. The thing is that it's really fake. =_= I mean some of the things in that are so obviously fake that it's painful.

a better majority of TV shows are actually fake and i think are a great influence on skeptecism.
Ive had many encounters with paranormal situations, some i can explain, some i cant. Ive even seen orbs, silhouetts, objects floating across the room and even encountered violent presences

Well, they say "seeing is believing," but with the way I am, even that's not much proof. It is on a certain level, but I'm the kind of person that doubts everything to some extent except my own existance.

Hmmm well part of me wants to horrendously murdered so that I might become a ghost, because as it seems to be it's people that died horribly that are thought to come back as ghosts.
Whether they exist or not I'm not sure, I'm leaning more towards the exsist side, but more beecause I think it'd be cool.
About a week ago my mom was watching a ghost TV show, and I souldn't help but laugh at some of the stuff, it's like "how much of an idiot can you be?" or "fake!". For example this guy was freaking out because the door handle was shaking, and the door closed, and opened again, all with the handle shaking. I couldn't help but think if I were in that position I'd ask the "ghost" if they need help with the door.
I knew a girl who said she had a haunted piano. I can't verfiy that though, I never got to go to her house during our short friendship. Apparently the ghost plays Greensleeves.
I don't go with the seeing is believing thing. I get deja vu, and know about things before they happen every so often. I still remember, I had a dream when I was eight that the Chip Truck was in the middle of a big concrete bowl. Years later they built a skate park right next to the Chip Truck. I didn't even know what skateboarding was when I was eight. Dreaming is a kind of seeing I guess, but typically I feel more in my dreams, than I see. There have been otehr future predicting situations.
I think I'd like to meet a ghost, as long as it's not one of those evil violent ones.
I do doubt things to a certain extent sometimes, but that includes mine and everyone else's existance.

This morning I recieved a chain letter claiming that if I didn't pass it on, a ghost would murder me in my sleep.
Whatever else I believe on the topic, I dont' think one can attach ghosts to emails.
All else is circumstantial- I believe, or not, on a case to case basis.

i am a very spirital person, and i believe that there is somthing in this world that is not in the physical sense and i think that they were once human...i mean, how can you explain an anomoly that has been seen in millions of places by millions of people and that i have even seen before?! but anywho, i have a story...at the house i used to live in, it was haunted...i believe this strongly and if you say its not, then you can go there and sleep there for a week, no a day even, and be scared shitless...all of the dishes in the cupboards would shake in the middle of the night and every once in a while, the foot of my matress, that was on the floor, would jump up. it was ******** scary as the 1996 Denver Broncos!! but seriously!! if you dont believe me you go to 1722 sandcasltle here in sacto and tell me you dont at least have that feeling!!

ghosts do not exist. No offense to people who believe in them but they simply do not exist. Its not a scientifiic possibility. There is not theory in the world to support the existance of ghosts properly.

I mean, so am I, but just because there is no proof of something doesn't mean it's not real or true.
