 Simple.
Are they worth it?
We've all seen them. People selling 04, 05, heck even uncomplete 06 letter sets. The thing about these are the fact that there is no set price for them. People are unsure of what price to accept, and I've sometimes seen them being completely ripped off.
I guess my question is, is it wise to invest in these? About how much are the 04 and 05 ones worth? Offer me anything else you have 2 cents on please. 3nodding

Personally, I think they're pointless. In '04 and '05 ('03 doesn't really count for a few reasons) there have been only certain items that you really wanna both keeping. They're the ones that have a higher rate of inflation than the rest for that year. When you buy a set, you're getting a bunch of stuff that's probably gonna only increase at a slow rate due to low interest.
For example, it would be a wiser decision to invest in multiple June '04s rather than buying the whole '04 set. Why? Because the Devil Horns are probably the most popular item from the entire year and have risen past all the others. If you buy several of those, rather than wasting money on the clips or gauntlets, you're gonna make more money in the long run.

That is true, in a way. But of course, people always hang onto the hope that "collectors" will be out for these sets and they'll raise in price over the years.

<3 The sets are interesting. I've dealt with the occasional set or two. Mostly my own and such. It's hard to find buyers, or it was for me. Do you love me back?

Despite your very valid point Kohline the sets are in constant demand. There's something appealing about having an entire sets worth of letters. I myself am a letter set seller, just because i am always going to find someone willing to buy. Yet at the same time, with such gold, i'm investing in letters i believe will hike up in price.
A win-win. I get what i want, and those with a craving to brag about their brand spanking new letter set get what they want. 3nodding

I sold them off in late o5 and early o6 I believe. mad D Prices ranged from around 120k or so for the set.
I've gone and bid on a few, stopped because the bidding was a bit too high. xD Do you love me back?

Anyways, Letter sets, you just add up the top price of each letter and there you have the price of it. Some people sell it for more, some sell it less. But the other points of people buying sets, it's to either collect the letters, or to get all the items.
