Well, she had assumed that the trees would have provided shade for her and perhaps even a little sanctuary from the heat but as she navigated the forest floor she couldn't help but release a little growl of displeasure - in short, it was incredibly warm in here and a lot more humid than the dry Savannahs outside.

"So much for trees being good shade." She muttered through discontent, her gaze flicking up towards the tree canopies that towered above her and prevented much of the sun's heat from penetrating the surprisingly damp floors of the forest...did that mean it rained here more frequently, or did it mean something else?

She considered this for a short time as she leapt onto a fallen and decomposing log, sitting down carefully to survey her surroundings which were so very beautiful in comparison to the dry savannahs - so much colour, so many flowers, sights and sounds...whereas the Savannah remained deserted for much of the time.

"Interesting." She mused after a few moments, her ears twitching slightly and nostrils flaring as she caught a scent that was quite rare and instilled a great hunger in her, "Water!" She gasped increduously as she leapt from the log and bounded across the jungle floors towards the smell.

A large, bright figure lounged beside the sparkling pool of water that had caught the lioness' attention. She seemed reletively cool, despite her humid surroundings, and looked as though she was taking a nap. Her head was rested on both her front paws, and the only movement she made was an occasional, gentle flick of her long tail.

As the sound of approaching footsteps reached her ears, she slowly blinked her eyes open, yawning widely and loudly as she did so. Her lilac eyes danced over the jungle, looking for who or what was coming. "Hellooo?" She called out, smiling a little tiredly as she tried to wake up completely.

Food!

Ti didn't take the opportunity to discern exactly who had called out to her but her acidic green eyes flickered hungrily as she leapt over the final hurdle (another fallen log) and propelled herself towards the water - she seemed not to have noticed the bright pink feline until she had dived head first into the pool and had resurfaced again, spitting out the water before beginning to lap it up again with her long tongue.

...And then she saw her.

"You're very pink." She stated bluntly, it wasn't an offensive statement but one that was a matter-of-fact. She couldn't actually think of anything more intelligent to say in the face of such a brightly coloured creature if she was to be entirely honest - but at least she wasn't male.

"So you're not food then." She murmured after a few moments, mildly disappointed at this.

The bright female giggled heartily at the first comment, and burst into full blown laughter at the second. "Heavens no!" She managed to utter in-between giggles. "I am very pink though!" The light spray of water she had recieved from the huge splash that the lioness had made was very refreshing, and caused her to shake off a little where she lay.

Smiling happily, now completely awake, she cocked her head as she watched the lioness. It was almost strange to her, seeing such a plainly coloured feline, having met all sorts of brightly coloured creatures in the Jungle, including an orange leopard and a green snake! She did have a pretty marking around her eyes though, which in themselves were almost glowing. "You must get very warm in such a dark coat, take all the time you need to cool off..." She continued to smile, glancing away momentarily so that the lioness didn't feel as though she was being watched.

"You have no idea." Ti mused as she lapped up more of the water before swimming towards the edge and pulling herself onto the forest floor once again. That done, she gave an almighty shake to remove the water from her fur and fixed her gaze upon the very pink female, almost envious at her colour for she herself...seemed to have missed out on the opportunity to have anything so beautiful herself - she blamed her father.

"Warm is not the word I would use, try feeling as if your skin is boiling, and then you will touch on how I feel." She muttered irritably before tilting her own head to the side and raising a felne brow - she had never seen thi one before and it was rare to see anything come out of the jungle.

"Just who are you anyway?"
PostPosted: Wed May 31, 2006 6:55 am

"Oh dear..." She bit the bottom of her mouth, trying to imagine what boiling skin felt like. It certainly couldn't have been pleasant. Pushing that thought aside, she got to her feet to introduce herself properly. She stretched out each leg one by one and let out another yawn, which she abruptly coughed away as she realised it was rude to cough in the pressence of another. At least, she thought it was.

Clearing her throat in an attempt to forget the awkward yawn and cough combo, she smiled. "My name is Pinki'ukamili, but you can call me Pinki! Pleased to meet you!" The leopardess was always pleasant, as anyone that knew her would know. "And you are?"

"Bahati, but many refer to me as Ti." She replied coolly, somewhat confused by the pleasant manner in which the feline reacted to her - most seemed to treat rogues as if they were lower than dirt or sand - unwelcomed creatures in a land that they didn't belong in as though in truth they would never find a land to live in, as though they had no home or place to live.

"...So you really aren't food then." She mused, still mildly disappointed at this fact as she had discovered from personal experience that cheetahs really weren't that tasty, they were just very bony, "Is there anything to eat in here?" She enquired grumpily.

Pinki nodded, still smiling as she acknowledged the female's name and commited it to memory. She chuckled as Ti again questioned whether or not she was food, and shook her head in reply. "I tend to look outside of the Jungle for prey..." She laughed. "What sort of a neighbour would I be if I went around eating all the locals?" That was just her way of living, but she was well aware that others probably didn't share her way of thinking.

Looking a little sheepish, she glanced upwards towards the trees. "If you really wanted to though, I guess you could just climb a tree and grab a bird..."

Bahati grunted as though in disapproval at the suggestion and shook her head - the mere thought of trying to dine on a bird was not pleasant as she was wholey aware that they were just bone and feathers, neither of which provided her with any nutritional value like a cheetah cub or antelope would do.

"Personally, you would be keeping troublesome menaces down if you dined in the forest." She replied coolly before lying down slowly and flicking her tail, her acidic gaze still focused upon the pink cheetah and her pretty coat.

"I will eat later, perhaps even catch you as you sleep." She mused thoughtfully.

Pinki shook her head and chuckled. "You're a funny one..." She replied, still chuckling. She had never come across a creature with such a dry sense of humour, and although it was much different to her own sense of humour, it was still very acceptable and almost refreshing. "I'll have to make sure that next time I fall asleep, it's within the safety of a very tall tree!"

Grinning, she eyed the lioness for a little longer. She was very beautiful, despite her plainess in Pinki's eyes. "So, where exactly do you call home Ti?"

"Nowhere, really." The feline gave a hapless shrug and offered a wry smile as though this fact was not remotely troubling. It was odd for Lions to roam on their own if they were female and yet she seemed to be completely content with her solitude and remained utterly self-sufficient in practically everything she did - including hunting.

"Here and there, I prefer to wander than be bound to one place for so long." She explained. offering a delicate chuckle as she sat up and shook more of the water from her black fur, "I would assume this was your home though..."

Pinki nodded and looked around. "The Jungle is safe...and you meet lots of interesting characters here!" She smiled. "Whereeeeever you wander, there's noooooo place like home..." Her singing voice left much to be desired, but she didn't seem at all embarassed. With Pinki, what you saw was truely what you got.

"So do you like the Jungle?"

"Um..." Ti was struggling to contend with the cooing that was Pinki's singing voice but after a while she simply gave a nod as if to say she rather liked it - in truth she did as it kept her a lot cooler and water was more plentiful here but the fact that there was virtually nothing to hunt (that she could see) left much to be desired...personally, if it had water, shade and food she would never leave again!

"Yes, it's very pleasant." She mused before trying to find at least a suitable phrase to respond to Pinki without offending her, "Interesting is certainly one word to use, that's for sure." She murmured and released a sigh before cocking her head to the side.

"How long have you lived here anyway?"
PostPosted: Tue Jun 20, 2006 3:58 am

Pinki smiled happily, glad that her home seemed acceptable to the strange traveller. She had never wanted for anything that couldn't be found in the Jungle, so she had never even thought to leave it. Well, not forever anyway.

"I've lived here for as long as I can remember. My twin sister and I grew up here. She left quite a long time ago, but I just couldn't bring myself to leave. I don't see the point when everything I need is right here, you know?" Pinki rarely talked about her sister, as it wasn't the most comfortable of subjects. She shifted a little awkwardly, and then looked up at the trees.

"She wasn't pink as well, was she?" As 'subtle' as ever, Bahati enquired about her sister, completely unaware of the discomfort of the female as she wasn't really used to social gatherings such as this one - to be frank, she hadn't really encountered a lot of them because she preferred to avoid them but today was just one of those days when she walked right in to one so she might as well stay.

"Because I can handle one pink cat but not two...that would just be a little much." She explained, almost in jest as she lay down once more and tugged a small leaf away from inside the crack of the pads in her paw.

"And I suppose I can see where you are coming from but you fail to see much of the world..."
