Dont you hate those guys who say their 'big' Green Day fans, but are really lying. EXAMPLE:My best friend's little sister Jordan says she likes Green Day but only knows them by American Idiot.plus she thought they were a new band! eek Green Days been out before she was even born! And i really hate it when i sing a Green Day song out loud and she tries to like mumble along with the words. She doesnt know Green Day and she shouldnt like them cause she wants to be cool. whenever i go to my best friend's house shes always following us.She says shes a Green Day fan but isnt. If you dont know GD then dont pretend you do.

I agree, and then since Green Day is now nominated for a Nickelodeon stupid thingy, more of those dumb ppl are gonna know them and be I guess you can say "wanna be true Green Day fans" and they may start to think that' they're all that and junk. Trust me, I've seen many ppl do these kinds of things before and it's VERY scary. I know this preson that says that she knows ALL about Green Day but only knows Blvd. of Broken Dreams! Just hearing that annoys the fug out of me! domokun

I'd have to agree. It is uber annoying. It happens though when a band hits the mainstream. Then you get teeny-bopper-trend-whore's who pretend to like a band cause its the 'cool' thing to do. But fear not my friends. When the treadies back down the true fans [us] will still be here. mrgreen

even if those people are annoying, you shouldn't pay attention to them in the first place. if they bug you that much....
they are only bandwaggoners to begin with so why even take notice of what they like, even if it's the band you like... it's a total waste of your time in my opnion. and it's not like you're a teenie bopper fan, so as long as you don't care about what they think you're fine, because you know it's wrong and they can't help for being so brainwashed with MTV or whatever. but instead of that why don't you try to help them learn more about the specific band and get them to REALLY like them... maybe open a new perspective other than what they see on the charts or hear on the radio.
.... it's just my opinion....

dear... everyone can have their different opinion. its ok to not agree with what everyone thinks when you've got a point of view that's different than everyone else's. but i consider it a bit of a good thing if people started to buy more of Green Day's cd's... they listen to stuff that wasn't dictated for them to listen to. it's on their own free will. or at least if they did it on free will it would be nice. but if it's just following the crowd and getting stuff because it's popular but not because you want it, then it's just ********. 3nodding

I totally agree with you there! All my friends say there Green Day fans and thats ok i don't have a problem with it but c'mon they can't even name every album, they only know them for American Idiot and dont believe me when i say they have 9 albums. Idiots i tell ya!
PostPosted: Tue Mar 29, 2005 6:49 am

they dont bother me, i don't come across it. i talk to people about what ever they're heard no matter how big of a fan they are. If they aren't a huge one and maybe just heard of AI I try to talk to them about old stuff, recommed cds/albums.

eek
I am going to get SO flamed.... But hear me out...
Okay, I used to be one of those "I hate the Green Day bandwagon jumpers", but I started thinking about it, and we're not being very fair... I mean, a lot of us got into Green Day circa "Dookie" and "Warning", not many of us liked Green Day before then (Sorry to the ones that have...). Now, we were jumpers on the Green Day bandwagon when "Dookie" came out (I'm using "Dookie" as an example here.) because all of the people who liked them since "Kerplunk!" or another early album hated us because WE were being the people who like "American Idiot" today.
Sure, they like Blvd, but they'll either get over the fad, or they'll be fans like us. Don't hate them because they just got in Green Day. I admit, I was quite pissed off when I saw the amount of American Idiot shirts when I walked into Dublin, but only because I wanted to be the only one I knew who listened to Green Day..
Just... Embrace the fact that Green Day are getting new fans and are becoming more mainstream. Just because they're getting more popular doesn't mean that they'll change their music entirely. At least I hope not...

They made me popular, regardless if I was listening to American Idiot before it hit stores and before they had even heard of Boulevard Of Broken dream, AI got me started on Green Day and I am proud of that song it's like my own personal song, while American Idiot is rarely in my CD player now I listen to Dookie.

Homigawd F.O.D. Just ended and they have bonus stuff on it! Who knew! I think it's All By Myself.

Yellie- whoile that may be true most of the people I've talked to have only listened to American Idiot and Boulevard Of Broken Dreams, let alone the whole CD some 3 people in my school are true blue Green Day fans, Me being one of them, we all got into it when I really introduced it to everyone and surprisingly that was American Idiot time, now I just blend in with my Dookie CD and my International Superhits CD (Not that i can find an T-shirts from Dookie yet if anyone can could they PM me with a link?).....I'm not a big AI junkie.

Thats true, I started at dookie and then bagged for another, but my dad wouldn't get it so then i'm like fine whatever, slowly wondered off and then amarican idiot woke me up. heh. Obviously the fans will grow, but i hate those fans that call themselves 'fans' when Green Days music disapears in their ears after a while. I like to welcome new fans that will really show they know something they love.

Yeah, it was well written. Well done!!
I agree with you on the annoying ones, the ones that say that they love Green Day and are their biggest fans (especially when they spell Billie Joe like Billy Jo or something) but they could benew at this whole Green Day thing, let them sink into for a while, and, if they're still the same, we blow them up! xp
