Wow.. once again this isn't just Ember. It's Tea too. (XP, I feel really weird making threads this way, so you really shouldn't expect this to be a common occurence.)
So, we were all.. talking, and the Paladins came up. And we both kind of agreed that.. we really haven't seen Paladins doing their duty as much anymore. NOT to say that either of us are exempt.. It's all of us. It just seems like.. we've kind of slacked off. We hang around in the guild, we maybe make a post or two in the [V]GD.. and.. that's basically it.
I'm going into flashback mode now. WOOWOWOO. I dunno if any of you remember my thread that I had for a while this summer. (aka.. The N00b-Telling-Off Thread..) But.. back in those days.. it seemed like there were a lot of Paladins around the forum. I wasn't one then, so I remember seeing them all over and being all, "Wooww.." Having that thread.. and having you guys around.. was probably what made me join.
But let's face it. >_>; We're just not that prominent anymore. Sure, we're around.. but I remember a time where it was a challenge to be the first Paladin to tell a newb that their topic is a piece of crap spam. Por ejemplo.. some thread I went to post on that had no replies.. by the time I typed something, BGBW and SSM had already gotten to it. It was way cool.
But what now? Sure.. we're never going to be able to completely help the forum.. but that's our mission. And we need to stick with that. ._.;; I'm not saying that the Paladins are not doing their job, and I don't want people posting at me being all.. "Wtf! I post in there all the time.." It's just.. it has decreased. And I know we're not the only ones who have noticed that.
Gyargh.. I feel weird being on the podium..
So.. let's be the Videogame Paladins we used to be. ;o; Cause that was fun. And we were doing something. Now we're just kinda the.. Videogame Old Retired Fat Guys Who Drink Beer and Watch PBS. (>>; The hell..?)

Ember now. I'm really not one who should be saying "Why aren't all posting in the forum?" since I haven't been there in a while myself. But I'm going to be trying really hard to at least go for an hour or so every couple of days.
We've evolved from a bunch of people who decided (or were invited) to join, and were just doing a job. It seems to me like we're a family now. Unfortunately, when we went to the second stage, we lost a bit of the first. Let's regain it, because we can be both.

If everyone could try and be in the forum for at least a few hours a week, that would be great. More would be even better, but I know firsthand that real life interferes sometimes. We're not going to be watching how many posts you make in the forum, or something like that, we're just asking you to try and get the guild back to the way it used to be.

Yeah, I noticed that, and I've been trying. Mostly, it's been reporting threads, background work. sweatdrop

As I think can be understood, I won't be able to start this till at least April. May might be called into question too, since if I feel rested enough after April I might compete again.

Well, I'll admit I'm not as focused as I once was. I used to post in about every thread I saw, now I post in a few misplaced thread, which I nicely get ignored in. I will say that I've started to use the report function more now, instead of waiting for some one else to do it.

The fact about official threads is that they are only official if they are a sticky. A member has all right to talk about teh PSP or Zelda even though "official" thread have been establised.

One reason I'm not posting so much in VGD as much is because all the converations are boring post statement here threads, no real discussion material and when a discussion comes around, the htread dies beefore it even reaches two pages. Why, because a lot of members are hungry for gold, so they will just post in threads which means they can post a short reply and get their gold. No time to type up a reasonable length reply when gold making be a wasting, oh no, we're just here for gold.

But, our lack of presence means that even if one of us shows the errors of a thread, we're likely to be ignored, but if a couple of us post in the thread, then we should get our point across.

Also, I think we need to set an example. I think we should start making theads and showing how a thread should be made. In General Discussion, they have a system where you set a scenario and then ask a related question. Of course in GD, they can get away with flaming everyone, because it's filled with a lot of oldies, but flaming in VGD is looked down upon.

My final point is probably down to teh lack of mods, which is a topic that we've brought up many a time, but it's true. There is really only one mod in VGD, Beramode, and we can't just rely on her, so even if a thread is reported it can take ages for it to be moved, especially when I'm on and the majority of mods are asleep.

I think I babbled on a bit too long, but hopefully VGD will be fun again soon.
