Mod update: If you have a guild you are trying to create and need donations, or have a guild that already exists and needs members, feel free to post in this thread. Questions and discussions about these guilds are also welcome here.

I am trying to get the first Catholic guild on Gaia started, but have very little gold (about 3,000), so I'm in sore need of funds to start it, as they cost 20,000 gold to start. I'm planning on calling it "the Cathedral of Saint Joseph", in honour of the Patron of the Universal church, and Jesus' father. I'm also looking for crew members (chaoticpuppet has already volunteered, but it'd be nice to have more than one crew member!) so please PM me with applications. It'd be nice to have mainly Catholics on the crew, but I won't turn you away if you're Christian, however, I am limiting the crew to Christians, as it is a Christian guild, but I will accept members of other or no faith (on a limited basis) once the guild gets started.

Update by AMoA: I've changed this thread to a sticky and changed it so it can advertise for all guilds. It makes more sense than creating a new thread for every guild.

I've got 8,288/20,000. I'm almost half way there, but I still need more gold. All donations are appreciated. Anyone that donates gold or items will be among the first people to be invited to join the guild when I start it.

Are non-Catholics allowed to join? There's many things about Catholocism that I wish to learn and understand more clearly... I just don't want to put people off with a bit of a naysayer attitude...

Ok...so my thread got locked just because I had the word "guild" in it and was told to post it here...so I'm posting.
I thought it would be a good idea to gather some people up (possibly make it a guild, this is the only time I used that word) to get donations for new gaians so they can get a nice start here on Gaia. Let them know there are nice people who will help them out. There would be a sticky in the GD asking new Gaians if they'd like a little help out. The people donating would gather some nicer looking clothes, fishing poles, and bait for these gaians so that they can start off looking a bit more decent and with a way to make money of their own. Does anybody else think this is a good idea? Please PM with comments

I would like to add, that I am currently thinking of making a guild strictly for philosophy. It would be a place to "battle philosophy" to the death blaugh Actually, it would be a place devoted to philosophical discussions, ranging from metaphysics, to political theories, to epistemological discussions. Any feedback on this type of guild, would be greatly appreciated.

All the other guilds I've posted this in say maybe having it be Christian would be a good idea, but I'm thinking I'm gonna let it be secular and if Christian members want Christian based threads in it they can go ahead and do so. And as for your philosophy guild, that sounds so perfect for you considering you're always off on something philosophical. I'd be interested in it if you got it running.

I think it's a great idea. However, the concept just might be better than the result. Notice the popularity, or lack thereof, of your philosophy thread. The guild, I find, is not yet necissary. Should the thread get going, then you should do it. However, I think that thinking about a guild, at this stage, is premature.

I would like to announce a guild I plan on creating. My guild will focus on the study of anything and everything occult. That includes Pagan religions, spellcasting and magic, escoterica, divination and fortune-telling, spiritual and mythical creatures, secret societies, and much more. Basically, if it can be considered occult, you are welcome to discuss it there.
I also plan on giving teachings to people interested in learning certain subjects. Each thread in that guild will be set up in an article format, with all important information in the first post. All important info later on in the thread will be indexed in the first post as well. Also, there will be a thread that will serve as a main index and will link to every other thread.
I am currently seeking mods and members. Mods must have some sort of occult knowledge, as they will also serve as teachers in this guild. If you are interested in being either, PM me, summing up what you already know.
(And for those of you who are curious, I was planning on creating a guild like this months ago, but ended up spending all my gaia gold when a really damn cool donation item came out. ^_^;; )

Hey...
Before i post my guild thingy, i just want to say that im gald i found this guild...
so many people diss a religion before knowing to the full extent of what it is about..
An way as you can see by my signature, i want to starta plantetshakers guild..
i posted a topic in the musci forum and not many people who posted (all 6 of them)
didnt post about thier music they posted about how the love/hate religious music..i only have 1714g and when ive finished my guest i will start saving for my guild..
I dont expect for donations but i was just telling you guys about it, because if you are interested maybe it can be a joint guild or something...
