It was an odd feeling, being on his own. Flame had told him to leave the teepee in search of the truth.. whatever that meant... but if there was one thing the young stallion was discovering...
It was a little bit more about himself.
He learned that he liked the wind in his hair, but disliked the rain in large quantities, and he found that he prefered to prance his way through the forests in song, rather then silence. The latter being what he did now, humming a gentle tune to himself and whatever other creature may happen along the woodland path he now found himself.

The sun was shining down on the back in nice warm rays and the mare nickered softly. Little Kitara was blossoming into a mare, her legs where long and firm no longer wobbly with youth. Her body was lean, and her since of self reliance seemed to sore at the thought she was now old enough to go out on her own without scolding. With a flick of her small white tail she was off. Her hooves thundering across the valley, weaving in between the trees and through the underbrush. Finally with a nicker a glee she reached the spring, and bent her head down low for a drink.

Flicking his long tail, Tai stared straight ahead absently, his mind wandering through the past few days and the events that led him to this aimless stroll. They seemed so distant now... those he considered family. Flame, Celei, little Misae... even the damned bird. He missed them, but knew he couldn't return... not yet.
Avoiding a raised root, the golden-brown stallion trodded on, his hooves beginning to drag along the leaf littered path, his subconcious urging him towards the distant gurgling of a stream.
"Damn it all anyway..."

The mare raised her head with an arched eyebrow. "Whats all this about?" she asked turning to the stallion not too far down the path, one she hadnt seen before. Her small tail flicked as she turned to face him. He was obviously in a ill mood so she didnt want to press this stranger too far. Had it been her brother that would have been another story. Kitara attempted a smile and nodded her head to the stallion. "Sorry, thought you where someone else." she said, smirking softly.

Jolted from his mindlessness, Tai stopped as soon as the other soquili spoke, his brown eyes widened in startlement. "Oh, my apologies I thought this trail was unoccupied..." he started, realizing halfway through his sentence he sounded like a fool... how could anyone know if a trail was occupied or not... it's not like he could see it's entire length to check for occupants. Hiding a furious blush, Tai coughed lightly.

Kitara raised an eyebrow as she moved to greet the male, Had her apperance really startled him that much? She smiled and shook her short mane from side to side. "So...I guess it is since Im here... what brings you down this way anyway? Wanting to be alone then? I suppose you wouldnt want my company then would you?" she asked, smirking softly.

"Iwell... no... butyou.. well...." he stopped before he embarrassed himself further, residing himself to look at her helplessly since he was unable to formulate a single coherent sentence.

Kitara couldnt help but laugh as he stuttered. "Are you always this Articulate around mares?" she asked with a light tilt of her head. She slike messing with the boys, so easy to make stumble over their own words or make them act stupidly. Still there where a few that could be dashingly charming and it was fun to seek those out. Her little white tail flicked behind her as she moved closer to him.

Mortified, Tai opened his mouth to speak, but shut it quickly before he uttered a single word.
Think before you speak they say... well dammitall anyway...like thinking is any easier then speaking!
And her close proximity didn't make finding suitable words any easier, so with a sigh he resorted to.. well... the basics. Like flat out answering her.
"Articulate? Well I wouldn't say I'm any different around mares, I usually treat them like I would any other soquili." He finally managed, flicking his tail to dislodge a fly. "But then again, I was a little eh... out of sorts, when we stumbled across each other." He added with a wry grin, hoping she took that as a sign that he wasn't always "out of sorts."

Kitara giggled and nodded her head. "Ah I see... So the surprise of finding me down this path put you..how do you say... 'out of sorts?' " She asked with a tilt of her head. Smirking the mare moved away and bent low, taking in a mouthful of sweet spring grass, her small white tail flicking against her haunches. She ment to put him at ease by moving away...as her closeness seemed to make him all the more...'out of sorts.'

"Well... no not really... company never puts me out of sorts.. rather it tends to bring me back to the level earth." he said with a deep sigh, pushing angry thoughts of the fiery stallion out of his mind, deciding to focus on the mare instead.
"Anyway! Lovely day is it not?"

Kitara chuckled and nodded her head, chosing to leave the change of subject alone. "Yes it is. It was a nice day for a walk, which is why You have found me here. Is that what brought you out today as well?" she asked him, lightly tilting her head to one side.

"Well, I suppose you could say that..." he mumbled, more to himself since he wasn't to sure he wanted to discuss the real reason he was wandering around alone in the woods.
But then again, as he thought about it, he really did want to talk about it. Or yell about it... something of that sort. The anger he felt towards Flame was beginning to be a little more then the younger stallion could deal with, in fact it would be the first such anger he had felt in his young life.
Hmm... yes yelling about it sure would make my day, but I doubt this stranger would want to hear it.

The mare watched the male before her with a light smirk. He was hiding something, more brushing it to the back of his mind than hiding she supposed. "You know.. sometimes it helps to talk." she said, not really expecting him to open up to her, But it was a shot. Her short white tail flicked softly behind her as her amber gaze washed over him. "Besides... You seem kinda...down." she said at length.

"Down would be an understatement..." he mumbled under his breath, before jerking his head up in surprise. "No wait, I... didn't mean to say that!" he amended, shifting uncomfortably on his hooves.
