Jamaa raised to his feet and exited the den. The sun wasn't even near high noon yet and it was very comfortable out. The older dog stretched out his back with a loud pop. He yawned again and settled himself onto the comforting grass. It was warm and the occasional breeze was added comfort.

Today was perfect.

Yakuti awoke and looked around, his leg didn't hurt at all this morning, thats good, maybe it was fully healed now? He looked outside to see Jamaa lying in the grass, it looked nice out. He stood up and put his hurt leg down, and walked on it. He had been using it for a few days now, occasionally running on it, but now it didn't hurt in the slightest. He laughed happily and bounded outside, jumping on top of the not-so-much-bigger-than-him-anymore wild dog and saying

"Hey Jamaa, I think my leg is all better again!"

"So what are ya gonna do now that you are all healed up? Chase after Goma again?" he said nuzzling the hyena.

Yakuti slid off Jamaa's back and sat next to him, laughing, "Well that all depends on if he comes back!" Yakuti said happily, he would very much enjoy the opportunity to beat on Goma a bit. He was bigger than him already, and could probably catch him if he ran away again, it would be tons of fun. And yet...

Yakuti had this strange urge to go to the elephant graveyard, he didn't know why, but he just wanted too... Maybe he should wait untill he got Goma though.

"Well, he won't be coming back for a while, y'know." maybe introducing the jackal to Yakuti wasn't the greatest idea he had for a long time. Maybe he should apologize to the jackal the next time they bump into each other.

"Well....besides chasing and beating Goma, what else are ya gonna do? I'd rather know now before you go wandering off again and get yourself hurt." he said sternly.

Yakuti sighed, he didn't know if Jamaa would approve of him going to the graveyard... But he trusted him and decided that if he didn't want him to go, it was probably for a good reason.

"Jamaa, I've got this sudden urge to go to the elephant graveyard, I don't know why, but I feel like something important is supposed to happen there."

There he said it, and he couldn't take it back, now all he could do was wait for an answer from the dog he saw as his own father.

"Thank you so much Jamaa!" Yakuti said happily, bouncing slightly, he hadn't expected him to let him go. He licked Jamaa's scarred muzzle and said "I couldn't forget you if I wanted too Jamaa, I'll always remember you."

"Make sure you don't, 'kay? Now off with ya." he finished, nudging him off. His heart urked, it was for the best.

Yakuti looked at Jamaa, then at their den, and then off in the direction of the graveyard, he felt a small tug inside of him, urging him toward the ancient place.

"Bye Jamaa, we'll see each other again, I promise."

And with that, the young hyena pup began walking towards his new way of life in the graveyard.

Yakuti was a growing hyena, no wild dog could possibly raise one to it's natural enviorment. Jamaa had to let Yakuti grow. He will be back....he will...

He turned away from the disappearing image.

"I best return to the pack lands. Wonder how Tem's doing." he wiped the tears from his face. "I better tell her."
