Name: Piper Marie Gaiman
Age: 17
Gender: Female
Dream Job: Police Officer
Current Occupation: Studnent

History:
Piper didn't grow up in the slums, but she didn't live in the nicest area...Or have the most moral standing parents. Tired of being surrounded by the violence and drugs, and convinced by one too many "No Drugs" school programs, she took her first steps and called the police on her own parents when she was 15 at the time when a gathering of druggies was at her home. Since then she's been in the foster care program and have loved every family she's been with sincerely. Making up for lost time, she been working hard for school and even doing community service. Now that Piper is one month away from turning 18, she's almost ready to take on the next phase of her life, but like any one else, she fears her uncertain future.

Why a Cop:
Piper wants a to have a job that will help people, but she doesn't want to take on the financially scary thought of training to be a doctor. Remembering that shining day in her life when the S.W.A.T. team burst through the front door, finally freeing her from all the trouble ahead. She wants to join the Milwaukee Police Department.

Personality:
Perky and cheerful she's always got her best and biggest smile on her face. She's kind and giving; however only on her terms, and with that she's truly a talkative nuisance who cant keep her nose out of other peoples business. She always believes, that in the end, she knows whats best for anybody and is very forceful with her opinions. She's also sure she knows what's best for herself and rarely takes advise, exspecially from those around her age or younger. She will take advice more gently from her elders. Piper also is a strong believer of the phrase "The ends justify the means", making her rather devious in her dealings and isn't afraid to lie and cheat.

Why the Island:
Piper believes she's there for a training program placed there specifically in beautiful paradise just to promote more kids to join the force on a nation wide scale. (working on this, do to uncertainty)

Why a German Shepherd:
When you think police dog, it's probably the first dog that pops up and I just prefer them over other dogs. The important thing was the dog factor. The obedience and loyalty associated with dogs are both things that Piper doesn't have much of.

Well, I should have known that the German Shepherd was used for shepherding, I'll have to find out what dog was used for badgering.

Well-bred GSDs have powerful jaws and strong teeth, can develop a strong sense of loyalty and obedience, and can be trained to attack and release on command. Poorly bred GSDs such as those from puppy mills can be fearful, overly aggressive, or both. GSDs (like Pit Bulls, Rottweilers and Dobermanns), are often perceived as inherently dangerous, and are the target of Breed Specific Legislation in several countries. If a GSD is violent or aggressive, it is often due to the combination of poor breeding (bad nerves) and the owner's lack of control or training. GSDs are often used as guard, attack and police dogs, which further contributes to the perception of being a dangerous breed. However, many GSDs function perfectly well as search dogs and family pets - roles where aggressive behavior is unsuitable.

GSDs' sense of loyalty and emotional bond with their owners is almost impossible to overstate. Separation trauma is one reason they are now used less often in guide dog roles, since guide dogs are typically trained from puppyhood by one owner prior to final placement with their employer.
The original purpose for the German Shepherd Dog was (not surprisingly) to herd sheep, cattle, or any other animal that might require the assistance of a shepherd. Even given the name "Shepherd", some people are surprised to hear that these dogs were bred for herding, as the GSD is more often found working as a guard dog, police dog, or companion pet than in the field working sheep.
The German Shepherd Dog does not have the "eye" that Border Collies or some other similar breeds have. They are trained to follow their instinct, which for the GSD is to "work the furrow", meaning that they will patrol a boundary all day and restrict the animals being herded from entering or leaving the designated area. It is this instinct that has made the breed superb guarding dogs, protecting their flock (or family).

Because of a desire to have a family protector, many GSD puppy buyers think they need a very dominant, aggressive dog -- an unwise choice for a family. Sound GSDs are naturally protective of their homes and families.
Puppies will begin to show some awareness of "their" people and "their" space at about five or six months of age and will display a desire to warn of approaching strangers. An alert dog and a few warning barks is all the protection most families require.
For those who have a true need for more serious protection, a sound, balanced dog is still the best choice. Such a dog can be trained in formal personal protection by a competent instructor. An overly aggressive or unsound dog should not be trained in protection, for it will be a danger and cannot be trusted.
A German Shepherd Dog's instincts to herd might manifest themselves by the dog closely watching or even nipping at members of its family as they go for walks. The dog might attempt to lead people to what it perceives is the correct location, even going so far as to gently take a hand in his teeth to lead the person. With some training, this can become a trick, sometimes known as "walk the human."

Here's some some fun things I just learned: German Shepherds can come in a solid black and white. Also, 15% of German shepherds retain there floppy ears that they have have as puppies, just something think and play with.

You know, there's something bothering me...

Maybe instead of doing a kid who wants to be a cop I could do a seciruty guard (not actual cop, or as my friend put it so kindly "Rent-a-cop") wanting to really get into the force...I guess I might be worried about the cop thing because Bobbi got that covered, which I why I'm doing the would-be cop instead of actual one.

A germen shephard woman in a cop uniform is kinda hot though...

*one cold shower later* Gah, I wish they'd fix the water heater... :p

Well, and the backstory really needs work...I can see that. I think it's possible to call the cops on your parents for drug use, but I've never heard anyone do it before so it seems just barely, barely realistic. I'll search news articles but it's just one thing I dont feel so good about anymore.

I still have my idea of the older woman getting ready for retirement and the Island is in her retirement package, I should play with her more, for the sake of having older people. We love our elders.

Well, there's my thoughts outloud...
