heart Thank you all for making me feel so welcome here. I started this thread as a way to introduce myself to the guild, but as it has served its purpose, I've decided to use it for hosting MiniChats about various topics that capture my interest. To give folks a chance to comment, each MiniChat topic will stay up for anywhere from a few days to a few weeks depending on the response to it. I'll try to do a at least a different one every month if not more.
What's a MiniChat?A MiniChat is a silly term I came up with for this thread. MiniChats will -tend- to cover current Gaia events or other timely topics that wouldn't necessarily merit a thread of their own as the thread would probably die out after the subject at hand moves out of the limelight.Rules:The standard Gaia TOS rules apply as do the rules set forth by the captains and mods of our guild. My personal rules are easy to follow...1- Post only about the current topic, not previous ones - silliness is definitely allowed.2- Be nice to each other.3- Have fun!MiniChat Topic Archive:The following links will take you to the page where each topic was introduced. (Posted 03/25/05): I scanned through all the E.V.I.L. pages looking for a thread to introduce myself as a new guild member and found none, though I admit I may have missed it. I don't know if this has been tried here before, one of my other guilds has something similar, so anyhow, I'm creating this thread as a place for new members (or at least for myself) to say hi and post a short introduction. cool
NOTE: DLASTBIRD has since pointed me to the official E.V.I.L. guild introduction thread which I did, in fact, miss when I first scanned through the guild pages. cool
I use the E.V.I.L. price guide on a regular basis and finally decided to check out the guild. Seems like a cool place so far. I'm pretty new to Gaia, having joined around mid January of this year so I hope you will all be patient with me if I do something newbyish. I'd appreciate any help or suggestions as I get used to the way things work.
A little(?) about myself:
- I'm a collector IRL and it seems to have transferred over to my on-line life. My favorite RL collection is music. I have over 1,000 CD's and numerous MP3's which range from classical through every decade of the 20th century starting with the 1920's to the present. pretty much the only type of music I'm not into is Rap, though country and salsa aren't high on my list either. Most genres are represented in my collection in some way though. My current Gaia collection goal is to get a hold of all the items and grab bags from Halloween 2003. Wish me luck. eek
- I play piano/keyboards and sing (tenor) plus I love to paint/draw/sketch, sculpt (in clay), write (prose/poetry/lyrics), and I read a lot, especially Sci-fi and fantasy. Some fave authors are Stephen King, Maya Angelou, Anne Rice, Frank Herbert (the Dune series), Ayn Rand, Terry Pratchett (the Discworld series), Anne McCaffrey (the Dragonriders of Pern series), Tolkien, J. K. Rowling (Harry Potter series) and John Varley, author of a sci-fi/fantasy trilogy (from the 60's, I think) about a world called 'Gaea', and yes, that's what inspired my user name. mrgreen
- I have a tendency to be excessively silly and have random attacks of verbal diarrhea, not to mention the occasional brain fart. Feel free to tickle me senseless if I go too far. domokun
- Silly quirks: Overuse of exclamation marks!!! And ellipses...my self-inflicted nickname on some text based RP games that I play is: ~fanfare~ Points of Suspension Man...Superhero of Consecutive Dots in Succession!!! ~fanfare~. I have several superhero identities, as a matter of fact, so I guess that's another quirk. whee I also make nutty siggies when isnpired, usually by a conversation with some other Gaian nut case, and finally, I change my avie's clothes often and alter my font color to match the outfit. So...ya. rolleyes I now return you to your regularly scheduled posting. xp

But ya...I've checked out a few other guilds and I have to say it's good to find one where folks seem to have more than one brain cell engaged and functioning at the same time. xd Yes, I can be very silly, but I do have the capacity to get serious as well.
