So I go to mysongbook.com to get some tabs for eric johnson. And now they're all restricted. I can't access them until they get word from the author that it's alright to distribute them. I hate this copyright crap, especially since the tabs are being produced by people not looking for profit. This is getting way out of hand.

Yeah that pissed me off to for certain songs. It was a very dark day when mxtabs was shut down. Thank god it's back.

Haha yeah, I went there looking for some tips on using synth drums in my powertabs, and all of a sudden everythings back up again! Woo! Too bad i already downloaded more than enough tabs to last me many years.

I thought they were exempt from copyright as they are "An artists interpretation of another artists work."

That was the argument of the tab sites when the litigation surfaced. I'm not sure exactly whats going on with the litigation, but apparently its okay to host tabs again, so its all cool.

Well isn't this just the stupidest thing you've ever heard. Me and a fellow band member were talking about copyrights the other day. The fact is they can't reproduce the songs due to the actual songs being copyrighted so I really see no point to this.

Well, people will always try to profit from "free stuff". But you've got to admit that some people will want their "hard work" in figuring out the tabs to be worthwhile.
