A small village that lies in between Mount Tokyoku and Hiken, Huaxi Village is probably the only village in Ounen where the good and decent people reside in a country of rejects and misfits. However, because of where it is situated, the village usually falls prey to many criminals. Fields that were once luscious grow here, turned almost barren by the bandits who come to pilfer there, and though it doesn't help much, it is how many make a living and stay alive. Many find it a wonder the village hasn't fallen yet, and some believe that The Prince of Pangu lies beneath the soil there.

He camped outside the village, up in a tree. He had learned that sleeping on forest groud meant possible thievery or attack of wild animals. Huang-Lung wickered and went to sleep.

"Hmm . . . I know I'll have to go back to the capital sooner or later . . ." he sighed. "Father is going to be VERY angry with me."

They had, finally, arrived in the village, as Chiyo continued to lead Umi through, the two on her back. It was pretty late by now, and they'd taken an extra day; more than Chiyo had planned. She looked around for her brothers and sisters, her grandma and grandpa, but couldn't find them. "They're so going to hate me for being late," she sighed, bitting a lip as she looked around; he wasn't even out. Damn it, he probably thinks I'm a fool, too, she couldn't help but think; indeed, she did like someone, but no one knew except her Oba-chan.

She continued to lead Umi through the village, until she came to her home; her family and she had a few small houses, all arond each other since they had a family that seemed to have grown quite a lot; plus her grandparents thought she should have her own little place. She lit the latern, leaving Umi by her favorite tree with some food, as she lead her two guests inside. "Please, make yourselfs comfortable while I go run a quick task," she said, running out of the house with what she'd gotten in town.

Shinsei smiled. "Thank you Chiyo," and sat politely on the couch. She waited for her partner-in-this-land to sit as well. "Ya'know. If you sit, we can figure out exactly what's going on.

"Maybe even get an outsider's opinion with it." Shinsei grinned, pulling him on the couch. "Now, we're obviously not in Japan, and this is obviously -not- the time we come from."

[welcome back, Sonsko-chan!]

Chiyo aws running through the town, the bags she'd brough back from the city jingling on her arms; some people in the town had asked her to pick some things up, and -although it was late- she had to return everything none the less. She tried her best not to dawdle, so she didn't leave the guests unpretected in the house for a long time. She figured, though, that she should take at least a little time, since they were probably confused and wanted to talk alone; after all, she had no right to listen in on something she had no clue about, let alone if it was a converstion between the priestess and a friend -who seemed to be a warrior... apparently.

He approached the village in the morning, after he had fed and watered Huang-Lung. The village was bustling with life, as he was glad to see. Something caught his eye. A girl was running down the dirt path, a load of items in her arms. As quickly as he could he moved Huang-Lung and himself out of her way, but too late.

[Eh? Me? And I'm guessing I just completely bashed into you xD]

Chiyo looked up, hearing something moving out of the way, but it was slightly to late. Within a moment, she seemed to tumble foward, losing her grip on the bags she had in her hands; herbs, berries, carrots and the likes seemed to spill out of the bags, tumbling out onto the path. Chiyo -who pushed herself up after a moment, somewhat shakey- looked around, to see the man and his horse. "I-I'm sorry," she stammered, bowing her head in appology as she started to pick up the things that had dropped, placing them carefully in the bags after dusting them off slightly; like none of them washed things before they ate, she thought sarcastically. They wouldn't mind, and plus, they'd understand it was an accident; Chiyo just hoped no one had seen that besides the three of them.

Teiji smiled slightly, and bent to help the girl retrieve her fallen goods.

"It's quite alright," he assured her. "I'm Teiji, by the way. Nice to meet you."

Chiyo pushed herself and the bags in her hands carefully, standing up straight. She smiled at Teiji, bowing her head in respect while making sure not to drop anything again, before looking back up at him. "It's nice to meet you, Teiji-sama, I'm Chiyo," she said simply, the grin still on her face. "I'm...sorry again for causing this slight trouble," she said, somewhat shyly as she bit her lip; if there was anything she hated, it was being a bother.

Teiji seemed to be able to read her mind, and laughed, a rich, light-hearted sound.

"Not at all, Chiyo-chan," he smiled. "On the contrary, I was afraid you'd been injured, smashing into Huang-Lung and I like that. Do you need help carrying those? I'm sure Huang-Lung wouldn't mind carrying them for you."

The horse beside him snorted and nickered softly, as if apologizing as he nuzzled her face.

Chiyo giggled softly, petting Huang-Lung gently on the nose before shaking her head. "I'll be fine, Teiji-sama. Arigato, though, for the offer," she said politely. She looked at the two of them for a moment, wondering if there was anyway to help them out for having bumped into them, when she finally looked at Huang-Lung again, brushing a hand over his neck, tangling her fingers in his hair for a moment.
"Are you traveling by yourself?" she asked softly, not looking at him. "I mean, you're young, and it might not be a good idea to be traveling alone, right?" she continued on, not even waiting for an answer. "Either way, you are welcome to stay with me if you'd like. I mean, it's the least I can do after all of this," she said, slightly embarrassed that she could be so careless. She decided to wait to tell him of her other guests, assuming he wouldn't mind; she hoped he wouldn't anyway.

Teiji smiled graciously.

"That would be wonderful, Chiyo," he replied. "I'd love to travel with you." He added after a second's thought, "Heh . . . you sould like my father when you tell me that I'm young. I'm 19; plenty old enough to marry, rule a kingdo-"

He cut himself off and clammed up immediately. He'd almost given out his secret. No one in Ounen knew how the Crown Prince looked like, so it had given him some cover. Now he'd nearly, if not already, blown his cover. Why was it so easy to talk to Chiyo? Was it because he was so eager to make friends with his subjects? Or was it something else?

[I won't be back on till the 20th, so don't worry about answering here till then xDD]

Chiyo, who had started foward, stopped and looked over her shoulder. "Nani?" she asked softly, tilting her head, "is something wrong, Teiji-sama?" She couldn't help but wonder what he was saying; she'd only caught that he was nineteen, a good age to marry, but something about rule? She was slightly confused, but she didn't want to press on with a matter that he seemed to be iffy about.

She let a silence settle between them for a moment before slowly turning back to lead the way to her home. "I do have two other guests, at the moment," she said shyly, as though ashamed she hadn't told him in the first place, "but I'm sure you'll find them interesting. I mean, the way they dress is enough of an interest!" she giggled. She wondered how the two of them were doing; she hoped, at least, that no one would start an uproar for strangers as them to be in the village. What am I getting myself into? she thought to herself.

"Nothing's wrong, Chiyo," Teiji said hurriedly, though a little relieved that she hadn't caught on to what he was saying earlier. "I'm sure I'll enjoy the company. It's been many years since I've been among a group."
