^ 75% of the human body is collagen. It is a structural polymer that is found in most animals.

It is actually if I'm correct animal cartilage. Also the stuff in Jell-o that keep it jiggly is made up of cow hooves.

Most sugars use ground up animal bones as a form of preservatives. Animal fats are used in the production of many plastics. Living an entirely cruelty free life is impossible, but the next time you go to sweeten your coffee try using Sucarnat.

The only one that I know to be 100% vegan is sucarnat.

Well, that and raw sugarcane I guess.

its actually animal bone char (bone black) used to process the sugar (non remains in the sugar itself...Dixie Crystal is a vegan white sugar...raw sugar is good...or stevia...sythetic sugar replacers are often animal tested

Aw, man I knew about the gelatin thing, but I didn't know it was used in sugars and stuff too. Ack! gonk
Out of curiosity is gel the same thing as gelatin? You know cuz some toothpastes say gel on them or some pills are gel coating or whatever. And I know some pills have gelatin. I was just curious if gel and gelatin were the same. Being cautious I always avoided stuff that said gel on it to begin with.
And I remember having an arguement over whether or not gelatin is categorized as meat.

Veganism, and to a lesser extent vegetarianism, are two principled lifestyles that are impossible to completely fulfill. Rather, it's a reach towards that perfection. Intentions and effort count more than anything else.

I don't eat jello either. Mostly because of the whole gelatin thing. That's just gross. The other reason is because I have always hated the texture of jello. It was just to wiggly for my taste.
However, it is hard NOT to eat gelatin. As Astrox said earlier, it's in everything, even things you wouldn't expect. It seems impossible to avoid it...

I think the rhyming is a coincidence. . .
xp

But actually, gelatin was a good idea to begin with, using up the bits of animals you can't eat to make yummy things.
I just use agar agar when I want to eat jelly.
