It was nearing the afternoon, the sky had been painted a very deep shade of orange and indigo as the young, crimson female lay across the cooling rock outside. She hadn't gone inside...not yet and she doubted she would again.
Ever since she had reached adolesence, she'd wanted to see what was out there...what was beyond that golden horizon, beyond the stars and the ancestors. Beyond the PrideLands.
She wanted to see every piece of terrain she could.
But, she waited, waited until there was someone she could say goodbye too before she left. She'd probably come back...or she wouldn't.
She'd never gone out on her own...but...she was willing to try.
The young lioness sat up, her chocolate brown eye's watching the lands as she waited there.

Shimah was romping through the grasslands, some ways ahead of her father. Her eyes looked here and there, taking in everything before she spotted a figure in the distance. She was curious and made her way over to see...another lioness! But, this one was a bit bigger than herself. Smiling at the other, she crept over to get a closer look, "Hi!"

Kianga's dark ear's swivelled towards the little green figure, taking in her extraoridinary(sp?) colours, before the sweet hearted teenager smiled at her. "Hi, what's your name little one?" She asked happily, watching the young female as she sat there. Her creamy forepaws gently pushing against the ground as her deep brown eye's watched her. She could smell another lion, probably one of this little female's parents. But either way, she just continued to smile and wait for a reply.

Shimah's golden eyes widen just a bit in awe as the lioness pushed herself up. Bouncing her way over towards the other, she flicked her tail and smiled, "I'm Shimah!" Eyeing one of those creamy paws before it was caught in a playful pounce.
Mika'il looked for his daughter to and fro, but to no avail. He shook his head and sighed before his ears perked up. Was that her voice? He padded closer and saw his daughter with another. A clucking sound was heard as he made his way over to his daughter and Kianga. "Shimah, what did I tell you about bothering others?" He turned to Kianga, "I hope she hasn't bothered you too much, she can be a bit too curious sometimes."

The older lioness smiled softly at the cub's playful enthusiasm, her brown eye's watching before she raised her head to the black and green lion.
Blinking slightly before the notion of him being this sweet little female's father soon caught on.
She smiled softly and shook her head to the older male's words, letting the small green cub play with her creamy forepaws as she let a playful smirk light her maw.
"Oh no sir, it's quite alright, I enjoy meeting new cubs." She said softly, her eye's watching the dark male as he ocasionaly went back to look at the little female now and again.

((Sorry about the delay, but I just got home yesterday and we can continue! biggrin ))
Tail flicked from side to side as Shimah rolled over to her back and giggled playfully while batting Kianga's paw softly. Gazing at her father, she rolled over and sat. "Dad, I wasn't bothering anyone, just meeting a new friend!" She turns back towards Kianga with large eyes, "Can I be your friend?"
With Kianga's reply, Mika'il couldn't help but smile. "I'm glad to hear that, she's quite a handful sometimes." His tail flicked slightly before he sat down and introduced himself, "I'm Mika'il, and I can see my daughter has already told you her name. What's yours?"

The lioness watched the little cub happily, only to smile at her question and nodded.
"Yeah you can be my friend!" She said happily, watching her curiously before her ears perked up on her head.
The thought then arose. Oh yeah, she was leaving.
"Well...you can be my friend for now."
As the father spoke, she craned her head slowly upwards, white tail tuft flicking back and forth before she smiled.
"Kianga."

Shimah smiled before tilting her head, "For now? It sounds like you are leaving?" She flicked her tail at her new friend, Kianga, "Oh, what a pretty name! I like it."
Mika'il shook his head slighlty, his daughter was just too curious sometimes. He dipped his head slightly to Kianga, "It is nice meeting you, Kianga." To his daughter, "Shimah! Don't be so nosy!"

The scarlet female smiled sweetly at her new little friend, before she gave a small sigh. She supposed she couldn't hide it and just looked at both of them before clearing her throat and turning back to the little green femme.
"Well actually Shimah I am leaving, I just want to see what's beyond my home...see what's out there." She said softly.
However, she had to smile at the cub's words.
"And thank you, your name sounds pretty aswell."

Shimah blinked at Kianga as her tail swished. Her new friend was leaving home? That sounded like fun. She had talked about seeing the world with her father. A smile grew on her facial features as she looked up at Kianga, "Really? You're going to go explore the world! That sounds like fun. My mom tells me that the land is so huge, it goes on forever!" She looked to her father, "Daddy, can I go explore with Kianga?"
Mika'il couldn't help but chuckle softly at his daughter. It was true, she did take after her mother's adventurous spirit, and he knew one day she'd leave them. In a soft voice, "What about asking your friend instead of inviting yourself along? I cannot answer that question alone, Shimah."

Kianga was suprised at the words her little friend spoke next, looking shocked for a few moments as father and daughter conversed before she smiled immensly. "Are you kidding? I'd LOVE for you to come along and I promise I won't let anything bad happen to your daughter sir!" She said happily, almost jumping as her paws fidgeted to stay still in one place. Her eye's shone softly as she watched the little green lioness.

Shimah's eyes widen as Kianga was happy about having her come along! Turning around to face her father, she gave him her big, sappy eyes. "Daddy! Can I go? Can I go?"
Mika'il thought for a moment, they had talked about this before. Bending down to lick his daughter's forehead, he grinned. "Yes, you may go Shimah. Just make sure you see your mother before you head out, I'm sure she'd like to know when you are leaving." He turned to Kianga, "Please take care of her...she's a lot like her mother, that adventurous streak in her." He was putting a lot of trust in Kianga, but he knew this was ultimately his daughter's decision and he would stand by it.
Shimah grinned happy and nuzzled her father's leg. "Thank you Daddy! And I'll be sure to see Mommy before I leave." She turned to Kianga, "I can go with you! This will be so much fun!"

Kianga felt a pang in her chest and brain, she'd just been given a responsibility, but, it was a relief to have someone come with her on this trip. The smile never left her face as she nodded to Mika'il's words and gently padded over to rocks as her new friend, little Shimah spoke of how fun their adventure would be. And it would be fun. A LOT of fun.

Shimah licked her father's cheek, "See you later, Daddy!" And with that, she bounced off to follow Kianga on their new adventure. It would be quite the thrill. "Kianga, are we heading to anywhere inparticular?"
Mika'il smiled and wished them well. "Good luck, Shimah! Stay out of trouble now!" He flicked his tail slightly as the pair wandered off in the distance. He turned and headed back towards the den to tell his mate of the news.
((Should we make a thread in the main forum of their travels? Wasn't sure what you wanted to do. biggrin ))
