'Ello doves. Question; is there any specific way a Loli should paint their nails? See, I don't own any of the Bibles (impossible to get down here...), so I was wondering if any of you know. See, I positively adore painting nails. A steady hand plus a sharp eye for detail equals a nail artist. ^.^ Any information would be greatly appreciated.

I dont have any bibles either, and this is just a guess but, I would think they would keep their nails simple, and depending on the style of Lolita, I would guess they would make their nails simply black, white, a light colour, or maybe a french manicure. Probally not too intricate. Just a guess....might not matter though if you were wearing gloves.

I have Gothic and Lolita Bible vol. 8, and I noticed that Kana seems to like to have long nails, each one the same color, but with shiny stuff on them {er....basically different designs on each nail ^^;}. I've also noticed plain black nailpolish, and plain nailpolish of other colors. ^^;

Inai I have Gothic and Lolita Bible vol. 8, and I noticed that Kana seems to like to have long nails, each one the same color, but with shiny stuff on them {er....basically different designs on each nail ^^;}. I've also noticed plain black nailpolish, and plain nailpolish of other colors. ^^; Ahh, allright, thank you very much darlings. ^.^ Inai, what kind of designs? I was hoping that they'd be rather difficult... or at least interesting. It seems to me that the Lolita style is all about detail. Is it not this way with the nails?

If your nails were really detailed, wouldnt it take alway from other things? Every outfit needs a balance of fancy and simple <_<;

Nah... even if you have exquisite nails, they don't take up much room.

I honestly don't like the long fake nails but every Loli is different along with different styles of Lolita. whee

Thank you, SamusAran. What a lovely website...those nail designs are amazing! Mostly crosses, spider webs and roses...very nice, and they certainly propose a challenge.

As with everything in a lolita outfit, the nails are also detailed. You can do whatever style you'd like. If I have money, I usually get a manicure done with a black base color and white tips. I keep my nails nice and long and as even as I can. Sometimes I get black and white stripes put on, though I'm working on trying to figure out how to make something to put on your nails so that they can be plaid and stuff without having to get it professionally done (which could be money and time consuming). It depends on the outfit the way your nails are done, and be sure to pay attention to detail.

I know someone who would dip her nails in hot sauce to prevent nail-biting... I suppose this method wouldn't do, however, if you like hot sauce. There are profesional products that you put on your nails that taste horrid, thus making the nail much less tempting. ^.^
