Anyone see that Suikoden anime movie from a while back? It was in a post-apocalyptic japan, I guess, and the only same thing with it was of course the 108 stars of destiny. I haven't seen it in a while, but I was just thinking of it and wondering if anyone else saw it.

I heard that it was a big let down because of it had no similarities to the Suikoden world, excepting the 108 SoD.

There isn't a Suikoden anime. At least not one based on the game.
There was one anime with the Suikoden name, but it has nothing to do with Suikoden.
Much like Chrno Crusade has nothing to do with Chrono Trigger/Cross.

ForeverJustice There isn't a Suikoden anime. At least not one based on the game. There was one anime with the Suikoden name, but it has nothing to do with Suikoden. Much like Chrno Crusade has nothing to do with Chrono Trigger/Cross. That's what I was like. I was in the rental store, and I saw a Suikoden video, but the animation and the summary at the back showed no resemblenance to the game. But what's up with this 108 SoD in it? I say it could be symbolizing the actual Chinese story of Suikoden? I don't know, I'm making guesses. I didn't borrow it.

there's some evil force of darkness and such, and the 108 stars of destiny are supposed to gather and fight it... only if my memory serves, they only had like 5 stars. And for some reason it seemed like they were gonna do a series and gather more SoD (it seemed like the movie didn't have an ending) but from what I can gather, THAT NEVER HAPPENED. Oh well.
It would be nice if there was an anime based on Suikoden II (or any of the games). I mean, there was an anime based on Star Ocean to my knowledge (thank you enix), and there was that 4 part Final Fantasy that took place 200 years after FFV (thank you square). So where is the Suikoden anime!? GET KONAMI! RIOT! AAARRRRRRGHH!! domokun

I know about the Suikoden anime. It was released by ADV in 1996. Its exact title is Suikoden Demon Century. It's 45 min. long and is actually pretty good! 3nodding
I bought it from a vendor at Anime North '03 on VHS (the only format it's available on at the moment) for like $4 or $5.
The only connection it has to the video games is that they talk about the 108 Stars of Destiny and name off 5 of them (the heroes of this particular episode). There r more episodes, however they r only available in Japan according 2 a friend of mine who's lived there all his life.
They cover the whole 108 Stars and he said the series was awesome!!! xd
I'm hoping he'll be able to locate them on video or DVD there and send them 2 me. I'll get a Region 2 DVD player if I have 2. If they're on video that's easy enough 2 take care of. 4laugh twisted ninja
