We just had our Day of Silence today at my school...I guess it went ok.
Not many participated, sadly.
To show who was doing it, people wore ribbons that were given out for this purpose..
I saw hella people wearing them but without keeping their vows of silence!
I was MAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAD!!!!
Well at least a lot of people found out new stuff...
I can't believe people didn't know that gay, bi's, etc, were being hurt, raped, beaten up, and killed because they were different! Someone even said "OMG WHEN!" My firend said "All the time...DUH"
I just stared at her O_o

I was one of the few who actually stayed quiet throughout the whole say too xd

I stayed quite for all of the day except for two slip ups in my last glass and that was only to say damn you and it won't budge because my cheese cake got stuck in the pan. xd

When I announced the day of silence, I was greeted by groans and rolling eyes. No one in my class except me participated. Two juniors and two freshmen participated. That's good at least. It bugs me because they all act like I'm this huge lesbian when there are two girls way more butch than I am. I hate my school because it is closed-minded and NO ONE is anything but a straight Christian or Jewish preppy WASP. Thank you for letting me vent.
Still, I kept my vow of silence no matter how many kids bugged me by yelling "HEY WHATS UP? HOW ARE YOU?" Whatever.

I tried doing it the same day as my best friend. I didn't last. I couldn't just not talk in class. The classes I had that day were all discussion classes. And when people starting pissing me off, I couldn't keept quiet.
For that, I kinda felt like a failure. x.x

I stay quiet. That's why most of my teacher's love me. not many kids at my school are quiet. I just do it for the glory. biggrin

That day ... I didn't even know there was some sort of thing going on until I tried talking to one of my friends and they tried to mouth something. And then later on I saw one of my senior friends with a decorated shirt with rainbows on it and was like ... "oOo well dang ..." -__-;

That day was so difficult for me.
Not because I am like, TALKING MASTER, but because of all the things that we're said to me. People in school WERE informed about it, and one of the teachers took my slip-- people who particiapated had to get a slip describing what the day of scilence was for-- and everyone just stared at me. And the teacher laughed. So my self confidence dropped. Then throughout the day I was called a dyke. Dyke, Dyke, Dyke. And It just got so annoying. And then they we're making fun of homosexuals all together, saying that the day of scilence was a waste, and stupid.
Lets just say that I rethought many friendships.

My school didn't even do one!!!! rolleyes I mentioned one to some people and they just were like "um....do you expect this school to do one?" If my school would of had one I would have participated and kept quite.
