It seems like only guys play Dead or Alive. It's a decent fighter, it's the one that really made me play fighting games. Okay, so it has semi-naked women in it, so what? Just pick the costumes to keep them covered and look at the guys. Hayate aka Ein, Ryu Hayabusa, and Jann Lee are my personal favorites xd

I <3 fighting games, I simply dont own enough of them. It'll change when I have a stable income.
Hows the DOA system?
No personal experience with it. I really like to be able to jump over my oppenents, since I really only play with the female characters. If I cant take hits, then I need to bounce bounce bounce.

Lunar Daughter I <3 fighting games, I simply dont own enough of them. It'll change when I have a stable income. Hows the DOA system? No personal experience with it. I really like to be able to jump over my oppenents, since I really only play with the female characters. If I cant take hits, then I need to bounce bounce bounce. Yeah. It's great my personal favorite. You can't jump over your opponents but you can beat them senseless with easily executed combos. And yes the chicks can be a distraction to the guy players.

Honestly, I never liked it.
It seemed as if, if player A attacked and wasn't countered, three fourths of player Bs life was gone.
If player A attacked and was countered, three fourths of player As life was gone.
Vice versa.
Then again, I'm not huge on fighters >.>

Oh God, yes, I love playing that game. The fighting in it is so entertaining and fun!

I usually play with Ayane, but I have a good grasp on pretty much all the female characters. I don't like the males cause they're mostly clumsy and slow... I like fast combo action.

Maybe so, but the males are much more powerful than the females. I prefer playing with the guys more than the girls, but I play with them too.

I used to love DoA! I haven't played it so much since getting Soul Calibur 3, though.
It's a good fighter to introduce someone to the genre, I think... You can get good at it pretty quickly, and there's a good range of different fighting styles so there's something for everyone. 3nodding

Actually, Jann Lee's probably the best balance of speed and strength in that whole game. I used to use Ein/Hayate, then decided he was way to slow. Now I alternate between Hayabusa and Ayane, plus I own an articulated action figure of Kasumi. Ninjas rock. I play DOA 2 Hardcore on the PS2, 'cause it's the only version I have. And to Midgear: If you don't like the button-masher friendly environment of DOA, try Guilty Gear. Or Tekken 5. Crazy difficult if you don't know what you're doing. eek
