I like Ryuk he's hard to understand though....it's like "does he hate Light, is he friends with him, or does he just not care at all"

I think it's hardly to say if...then else..
Because train of thoughs, emotions, decision might change yourself.
I don't know exactly what I would do with it, because I haven't it. (I think the important point is how to find a notebook like that)
Hmm.. Okay, we adopt the point that that situation and that book already exist.
And that we get hold of the notebook NOW.
And that take me to the next question: Under which circumstances do we get the notebook?
It is a major difference where we find it..
Okay...we accept that we find our notebook on our feet in front of our flat/house.
The first reaction would be to pick it up, wouldn't it?
And if possible to put it in our dustbin!
And the next point is...if the Shinigami is there or not! So the reaction would chance as well.
Okay...we accept that the shinigami would appear later.. exactly as Yagami-kun..
Well ... we've accepted all these points..
We (erm..I) go to the dustbin. On the way to it we open the notebook and we find a instruction in english...like Yagami-kun..
In the meantime we are standing in front of the dustbin, the notebook in our hands and reading the instructions.
It talk about killing...about how to do it and what is importiont (like the time of 40 seconds, otherwise -> heart failure)
What would we think of it?
I would thought it would be a joke.
I wouldn't belived in somethink like that. I would think someone was bored and write that nonsense in it. (or to warn somebody off to read his diary)
I would run over the pages of the notebook and would realise that it is clear!
Then I would thought..someone want to joke and to kid me. Or that someone had written with invisible ink.
Then I would took a lamp and would realise that the notebook is really cleared!
I would bursted with curiosity.
I would read the instruction twice..and now think that somethink must be real with it.
Maybe I would act like Yagami-kun and I would search after a victim to prove that.
The victim must not be opular...only someone for a test.
And..If the victim dies... I don't think it would be of the note.
Maybe I've had luck..but does that say the note is real?
No..not really.
So I would search after a second victim... Just to get sure..
So...can you see how I imitate Yagami-kun?
Maybe..of the second test..I would think that notebook is real and really can kill people just by writing a name in it.
And it would also prove that the instruction are correct.
(Maybe I would go through the instructions..to prove point after point.)
And then.. I would be scared.. I had killed arbitrarily! Twice! Because to prove that notebook!
I think..to that point it stands to reason.
It would be human.
And then..what?
Then I would get rid of it...and by that time..I would meet the owner of the death note (the shinigami)
And on that time..the influence of killing had took me.
I had..power!
I had power over the death!
Wouldn't it be that great?
I think...it would be enough to manipulate me ..and that I think I could do all within that notebook.
I think I would act like Yagami-ku..but my goal would be like Mello..
(Mello thought he is a good *hehe*)

Quite frankly I'd probably end up using it to kill people that I dont like.
Frank and simple.
Like.... that girl who's dating the guy I like.
Like... that bus driver who always gives me a hard time on the way to uni.

I'd probably start by dealing justice to those crazy murderers, but then I'd probably get overwelmed by the power of it and start killing people I didn't "like".
