What strange things did you crave while you were pregnant?
I craved soul food. Lots and lots of it. I wanted every day to be like thanksgiving. I wanted my grandma to be alive and able to cook every southern dish she got me to fall in love with. I wanted purple hull peas, green, sweet potatoe, corn bread, and fried chicken almost all of the time. I'm a southern girl. I can't help it. Oh and sun tea. If I had been able to set it out and not had to worry about Jay drinking it all I would have made so much sun tea that it would have been pathetic.

oooh... one of my fav guild members is on! yeah! Um... I didn't crave anything in particular... and until month 6... i had a hard time eating a lot of stuff... i had tho a terrible intolerance of chicken. Like, i normally love chicken.. but early on, it made me very sick... even to smell it. On top of that, the smell of garlic always made me nautious. To this day, my stomach goes green with garlicy aromas.
Let's see... i ate a ton of cereal... lots and lots.

I couldn't eat much of anything in the beginning of my pregnancy either. The only thing I could eat and keep down for a while were peanut butter and jelly sandwiches. Now I can't stand the darn things.

I practically lived on mints because it was the only thing that helped my stomach.

I didn't want to eat anything in my first few months. The thought of food made me ill. I actually went a week between meals a few times. Because food made me sick and because I had NO money at all. It was extremely unhealthy, but I couldn't help it. Later on I ate macaroni with cut up hotdogs and caesar salad dressing. Everyone thought it was a craving... but I ate that normally XD; I never got cravings when I was pregnant. I never threw up either. I never really felt pregnant till about 5 months in when I felt tiny flutters. I didn't look pregnant till it was almost over.

For the first four months, I could only keep bread down, toast rather. After that, I craved meat, especially Mc Donalds cheeseburgers. I have been a vegetarian since I was 12 and had not eaten at mc donalds since I was even younger. It was so weird to want meat because I despise the taste, it's just yuck! that was my weird craving.

With my daughter who is 2 I craved Harveys --- big greasy burgers - then complained about it each time after I ate it.. but with my son who is 8 - I had a huge craving for fudge - not any fudge - hubby got laurasecord, & noname both didn't do it = i needed Niagara Falls fudge - there's a stand two hours from where we lived (toronto) I needed to have it! lol - sure enough we drove all the way there and we ended up getting it - but he won't let me live it down - i got one piece. It was all I needed! LMAO

With my first i wanted spicy food, which was weird since i'm not that into it. I don't remember having any odd cravings with my second.

I had the wierdest craving with my last 3 pregnancies, I wanted Flying J's fried scone with honey butter. No one elses would do. When my husband made his last fuel stop at a flying J and was headed home, he'd have to bring me one and he had to make sure they included the honey butter.

This isn't a craving thing, but since this topic is about food... I just fried up some bite sized pork cubes then added a can of mushroom soup and then some sticky rice to it. It is soooooooo filling. I just had a few forkfuls and I am already stuffed.
