I was going to make a thread on Wednesday for Deniece's birthday because I remembered it was the day Jade went in for her vaccinations, but then I forgot until I was posting in the mother's day thread and was going to mention we're going out to dinner tonight with my family to celebrate mother's day as well as my sister's birthday today, and then I went 'Doh! Birthdays!' redface

And Jade is busy organizing her birthday goodies we got her yesterday, including a Strawberry Shortcake theme for her cousins in Albuquerque, and a Bratz theme for her party here with my family and friends.

I haven't been on too much lately. I've been working on cross stitching a picture for mom for Mother's Day (oops, it's late redface ) but I'm about half way done with it.

Wow Denise, that's a project! I'm in the midle of a couple cross-stitches that are also prety late. Maybe that's inspire me to get them done! BTW, how do you create the pattern from a picture?

The picture that I've been working on actually has a poem (for Mother) and different colored flowers and butterflies around in a border. I'm beginning the bottom border, but still have 2 more butterflies to do, so maybe it will only take a few more days to finish, then I'll just need to find a frame for it.
I went to an estate sale a couple of weeks ago, and found a large wicker basket filled full of thread and cross stitch books, and ended up buying it for only $5. So I have a lot of projects that I would love to get started on. But I'm pretty new to cross stitching (this is my first 'big' project). I actually have no idea how to create a pattern from a picture.... I've seen a couple of websites of other people that have done it, but I don't think I'm creative enough or bold enough to try to tackle something big.
