What costume should I try drawing her in?
  The green/blue one
  Bear Pajamas!
  The purple one
  Keep trying. These choices suck!

domokun The time is nigh! I'm going for the gusto with this quest in which I'm going to try to make a girl turn into a bear taur. I was going for a straight up bear-morph, but what the hell. I'm going to have all the fun I can with this.
Unfortuneately I'm probably also going to need all the help I can get as well...

Stats/All About

User Image

Name: Hortense Morganna Wellington (that's a doozy)
Age: 15

D.o.B: August 24

Hgt:5'3"
Wgt:100 lbs.
Eyes:hazel
Hair: raven black

Occupation: Heiress (kinda), student and violinist

Ethnicity: mix: Causasian, Hawaiian

Appearance: Though she is dark skinned and has lush black hair with a blueish sheen, Hortense is frail looking a little pallid, and her cheeks shallow; in essence she would be pretty if not for her poor health. Though not bed-ridden her frailness leaves her illcapable of much physical exertion or strenuous activity. Normally she wears long sleeved, long skirted outfits that improve her appearance, usually pastells or light colors. She hates black because it makes her look goth-ish or part of a funeral, so she tends to avoid the color. Looks somewhat pomp inspite of her weakness, a tad of arrogance that the rich can provide.

Origins: New England, born and raised; doesn't know much about her island heiritage.

Likes: classical music, peace & quiet, botany, opera, long walks, rainy days, strawberries, Hitchcock films, mystery novels

Dislikes: *Illnesses*. Loud music, stark white hospitals with no sense of vitality, unobservant doctors, swimming, taxidermy (hobby of her father's), death, Slobs.

Secretly Likes: Sleeping, horses,

Hobbies: playing the violin, raising bonsai, puzzles

Personal Quote: *cough*

Morph: Moon Bear (Asiatic Black Bear) 'Taur

Final Form: My plan and goal is for Hortense to go from a frail skinny girl to a humongous, fully anthromorphic bear-taur.

Her final form would still have her hair intact, only it would change to the white/creme color of the marking that moon bears have. Naturally, as her hair's still there she won't be as beastial looking as other anthromorphic forms, her upper torso would have short fur, be -alot- plumper than she is currently, and blunted claw like nails growing an inch out, as well as mostly bear like head, however, there are still some signs of humantiy to it. Below the waist would be the body of an adult, female asiatic black bear, though the creme colored 'stripe' that makes the Asiatc bear distict from its North American cousin is repeadted on her 'human' chest and on the upper chest of her lower half. Her snout would be a lighter color than the black fur.

Okay, Why the hell are you doing this?:

If I'm going to have a character go through the transforming process, she's going to go through the biggest (literally) changes possible. Hortense is partially introverted, not entirely sociable, and this form will create a conflicting id with the bear's insticts and she'd have to deal with a more hedonistic, less proper/confined/mannered urge in her mind. At the same time, it's an empowerment to someone who's been ill and sickly all her life, and I like being able to do that.

...I also like bears. And centaurs. I never thought I'd be able to combine the two, but here I have a shot.

Aight, here's the skinny: I don't think I have a flip of a chance to win an auction which leaves focus on art sales (yes I'm an artist) and/or contests to get in, but the problem will still be getting the funds for a Serum #60 for the tauric part of my nefarious plan. To that wit, I'm focusing on funds for that, which is only 500k compared to the millions of gold spent on auctions. Still... nothing's ever simple, so I'm going to have to work for it.

Current Funds: 261982/500,000gold

rofl rofl YES!! I passed the halfway mark on the tauric serum!! Now as I get rolling, it's time to reexamine the character I'm doing this for.

Origins:

Hortense has been raised with the proverbial silver spoon in her mouth, however, money cannot buy her health or a life free of strife.

Her father, Horace Wellington is from a weatlhy 'blue blood' family from New England. While not a particularly clever man, as he was a bit boistrous and agressive, he was still smart enough to know he WASN'T the smartest around and hired the smartest people to manage his fortune through stocks, industries, and so forth, while he enjoyed the benefits, as well as being indulgent in his favorite hobbies such as hunting, taxidermy, and of course, partying as he managed his managers.

In his 30th year or so, he was having such a party in Honolulu when he met met Hortense' mother: a spoiled daughter of a wealthy native family, and after several -weeks- of partying, the two were married in an opulent ceremony and from there they went back to New England where Horace continued to aggressively control the wealth he had accumulated, hoping to produce an heir who could one day take over for him.

...At least until Hortense was born prematurely. As a result, she was in ill health for most of her infancy but with the best medicine that money could buy as well as honest to goodness care from her mother, Hotense was able to survive into childhood...

Backstory:

Hortense's early childhood was probably the hardest part of her life. Though her health kept her somewhat pampered, she was still given a rather strict, regulated life by her parents. Her mother was somewhat dense and a bit vain, so she wasn't given much in the way of encouragement, though true mothership sometimes was able to shine through at Hortense's sickest moments. However, her father was still running the show so she learned to read and write early on, as well as violin lessons, manners, the whole magilla. Inspite of this, however, Horace wasn't exactly pleased with how his daughter was turning out because of her health, and after a 'scandalous' happenstance when Hortense passed out during a violin recital when she was 9, he took more measures to 'hide' her from the public view. It is because of this instance and the reaction her father gave her that Hortense has a penchant to blame herself for her sickly nature. It took all her strength and begging though to have him allow her to keep playing her violin, and under any other circumstances, Hortense would have eventually given in to an unhappy life of bitterness that would have come from her father.

However, luck came in an unlikely package when her little brother was born. In much more robust health than his sister, Morice showed signs of being the better chip off the old block, and the father's attention went from daughter to son. Soon it was his turn to recieve the upbringing in recreating another Horace while Hortense was left largely alone. Though certainly not neglected, as Horace remembered who the medical bills were for, he otherwise ignored his daughter..and her mother was on the sidelines, favoring her son more because it was what Horace was doing.

Left to her own devices, Hortense withdrew into almost seclusion in her mansion home, however, she was still a child and sooner or later all children become bored. She still had her violin, to be sure, but while she wandered around the Wellington estate she found a game room that was largely unused aside for immense parties, and she started working on the puzzles that were located in a cabinet she discovered true enjoyment for one of the very first times in her life...

From there things fell into a bit more of a routine. She would busy herself with her own private matters, which was enriched when a relative bought her a bonsai tree and she started collecting those too, while her parents generally gave her brother a lions share of attention. There were some problems though, as soon as he was old enough; her brother found amusement in tormenting his older sister, and as long as he never broke anything it was by and large overlooked by her parents. However, if Hortense acted out against him, she got in big trouble, which further deepened the rift between the siblings and it's also given her an air of disgust when dealing with immature people... even if she's acting like a child herself.

And now, more images of Moon bears, as I'm going to refer to the Asiatic Black bear from now on due to simplicitiy's sake. Character Art of Hortense herself to follow in the next few days.
