It's been only a day since Jamaa's little..."fit of insanity". Temari is resting peacefully at the packlands. Yakuti, well Jamaa doesn't even know where he was. Jamaa started to get worried, but shook it off telling himself that he hasn't seen him yet, that's all.

Jamaa was heading to his old den to file up the holes he dug up the night before, it was the least he could do. The savannah was really quite that afternoon and the day seemed a little more scorching than usually, or maybe it was just him, who knows.

The first hole was a simple push and all set. He moved onto the other hole and quickly made them. He paused for a moment in front of the mangled tree. The tree he mangled with his fangs and claws. Even now his maw hurt slightly. Not to far from him was the shallow ditch from his pacing. There was slight traces of red that wasn't washed with the rain, Jamaa filled that up. The copper brown dog returned to the tree and sat there, staring at it.

Yakuti had returned to the spot that he had seen Jamaa just the other night, where he had dug holes and attacked a tree in his anger. He hadn't really thought about it, he just went there, and he sat by the destroyed remains of the tree. He looked about and soon saw Jamaa pushing dirt into the holes he had made, standing up, Yakuti went over to him.

"Hello Jamaa," He said, rather softer than he would have normally.

Jamaa practically jumped out of his skin just then. He turned around slowly. It was only Yakuti. Jamaa smiled.

"Hey there, kid. Jamaa was hoping to see you today." he grinned, nuzzling the little pup. "So what brought you back here?" he asked out of pure curiosity. If he were a pup and witnessed his friend go insane, he would never return to that same spot or be near him again.

Yakuti shrugged, "I dunno, I just came back." he said, "What brought you back here?" He asked back, though it was obvious that he was trying to repair some of the damage he had done the other night.

Normally Yakuti's tail would have been wagging happily now, but though he was glad to see Jamaa, he was still a bit shaken, "What happened to Temari?"

Jamaa's ears swung back, "She's resting now. In the packlands. Yakuti, I wanted to say I am sorry. Y'know, for last night." he dipped his head like all his family members did when they were sorry, well....truely sorry.

He picked up his head with a warm smile. "Well honestly, I was waiting for you. Since you weren't here I started to fix up the things I did. Well....the things I could anyways." behind the copper brown dog was mounds upon mounds of dirt that looked like elephant just had a #2 there.

"Its okay Jamaa, nobody got too badly hurt, at least, I don't think so" He said, looking at Jamaa's scar and remembering Temari's bleeding, "Is she going to be able to run anymore?" He asked.

"Of course she will." he wasn't entirely sure actually. It was a white lie. "She might be able to run faster than ever too." okay that was pushing it.

"Hey Yakuti, I was wanting to talk to you." he said. Jamaa got up and started to walk to his den, motioning his tail signaling for the little one to follow him.

"If you say so Jamaa" Yakuti said, though he was sure that she wouldn't be running faster than ever with that sort of injury.

Yakuti followed his friend toward the den, what could he be wanting to talk with him about? He hadn't done anything wrong, at least, not as far as he knew, but he followed anyway.

Jamaa sat himself at the entrance of the den that his family has used for generations. It was still a little humid from last nights rain and todays blazing heat. It still provided shelter. Jamaa planned to use it more often if he had a son, but that would be too long from now. Though he did have a son, at heart.

"Yakuti, I'm giving you the family den." he said.

This surprised Yakuti very much indeed, the den? His? "Really Jamaa? Its mine?" Yakuti asked, its not that he didn't believe Jamaa, its just that he was so surprised by this statement that he hardly knew what to say.

Before now he had always found temporary shelter near rocks or under trees, but now he would have a much safer, much more perminant den, somewhere that he knew he would be truly safe.

"Thank you Jamaa, thank you very much!"

Jamaa butt his head with his own. A jesture of playfulness.

"But, you're gonna have to share it often, y'know." he started. "This den has been in my family for generations. That is because we shared it with other animals that needed shelter. Good thing there's another part just for you though." he smiled.

The den had two main chambers. One large one for anyone who needed shelter from the rain or danger and another one just for the owner so he/she can rest peacefully by themselves or with another. The den had two entrances, the main one that led directly to the larger chamber and another hole that Jamaa "accidentally" created that led into the owner's den.

"It's your's and mine, really. But I don't sleep here often." he winked and smiled. Jamaa was giving this hyena his family den! This hyena was not blood related nor was he even the same species. However the copper brown dog didn't care. For to him, Yakuti was like his very own son. Not by blood, or species, but by heart.

Yakuti laughed happily, finally he had somewhere he could really call home. "I don't mind sharing it, as long as I can stay here I'm fine." he said playfully, "and the best part is that it was given to me by my best friend." He said, bouncing happily. He looked at Jamaa like his own father, and Temari as his mother, they cared for him more than any other had, or at least, any other that he could remember.

Jamaa licked him and then nudged him inside, laughing. Around Yakuti he felt and acted like a pup. Because of how he was brought up, he was neglected of having fun and enteracting with others on his own basis. Now he was taking it back, he was experiencing puppy-hood.

Jamaa disappeared into the owner's den, Yakuti's den.

Yakuti followed inside, and hopped playfully after his friend. He ran around inside for a bit, and fell into the hole Jamaa had used for a bath the other night, it was dry now. Still laughing, he clamoured back out and asked "So, what do you want to do Jamaa?"

((Take off your pants! XD only kidding))

Jamaa sat before the far wall, just a right of the hole Yakuti was in. This wall was very different than all the other walls. This one was of very hard dirt. Dirt that has beem used for generations. On it was many paw prints all scattered about, all were small.

"Yakuti, see this wall?" he asked, well more pointing it out. "This wall shows who owned this den here. All the members of our family lived here at one time. As pups they marked this wall. Jamaa has marked this wall, too. Now Yaku, it is your turn." he smiled warmly at him. The dirt that ran around the perimeter of the hole he created years ago. Jamaa reached up and pawed at it 'til a blob of mud few in front of him.

"Put your paw in this and marked the wall as your own."
