Birthdate: April 14th, 1982 Zodiac: Aries Current residence: Salvador, Brazil Skin colour: Golden brown/tanned Hair: Raven black, long and straight (mid-back) Eyes: Dark chestnut General Appearance: The golden-skinned beauty makes sure to get just enough sun every day, plus the right portions of fish oils in her diet to keep a healthy tanned glow-- at least to her standards. Constantly preening and manicuring herself has almost become a hobby, to the highest self-standards in order to ensure her future as a model. Makeup is light but in noticeable shades of peach and red, and she only dresses in the best designer clothes.
Clothing: Usually found in less clothing than others, she ensures that her design is chic rather than scanty. Her favorite choice is a lacey/frilly tube top and designer low-rider jeans though she enjoys bikini tops and anything 'summery'. Bright, cheerful colours are also her style.
Personality: Selfish and narcissistic to the core, Cali enjoys nothing more than being complimented and pampered. Ever since childhood she'd been told she was the epitome of beauty... and it all went to her head. A very 'high-maintenance' woman, she can be flirty and playful but controlling and downright shallow once her true nature arises.
History: Born to a middle class family in the city of Salvador, Calida enjoyed a humble life but she'd never let on about it. To her, it was paradise. The youngest of 7 children, though not their only daughter, she soon became the shining star of her mother and father. Pampered and fussed over, it was her radiant beauty and strong personality that made her the apple of her father's eye especially, and she therefore could do no wrong.
Ever since she was young, she was one of the most popular girls in school. Not because of her academics but her reputation. Her charisma had boys falling for her (or so she liked to think) and she was often found strutting the halls with an entourage of "friends" all aspiring to be just like her. She knew they were fake but as long as they preened over her like a goddess, it was all that mattered.
Ever since her older siblings married and moved away to start their own lives, Calida's mother begged her to build herself a career through college or somesort of University. This idea was like water through a sieve, washed away by her father's contradicting opinion. Little Cali had a gift and she was to become famous through it. The world would love her, naturally. She grew to be insanely enthrawled with herself. "Fixing" herself to go out was a production that took increasingly longer, her growing social circle pleased her and made her feel wanted and loved. Boys fawned over her as she spent her last penny day after day for those pair of sandals she "couldn't live without" in order to keep on top of the latest fashion crazes. Not bad for a latina from a slum city in Brazil.
There was just one problem. Even as her popularity continued to grow exponentially, she never was able to catch the eye of a modelling or talent agency. Interview after interview and no calls back. Her parents tried to be supportive and keep Calida's spirits up but her way of life was beginning to come back and bite them in bad karma. She became spoiled and bitter, resorting to using her loveable personality to win over people and use them for her needs. Her obsession with her looks only got worse with time until soon she began ignoring her parents' attempts at humbling disciplining and planning for her own future.
She was going to make it big, at any cost.

About the Goliath Tarantula Goliath bird-eaters are the world's largest species of tarantula. They posess a leg span of 12 inches (30.5 cm) across and can weigh 2.5 ounces (70 g). Their bodies are dark and light brown in color, with some black variations (especially during the younger stages of life).
Their bodies are made up of two external parts; the cephalothorax, or head and neck combined, and the abdomen.
Location
This giant spider is found in the northern South American countries of Suriname, Brazil, Guyana and Venezuela.
Habitat
Its habitat is the wet swamps and marshy areas deep within the primary rainforest.
A deep burrowing species, they live in silk-lined burrows in the ground dug by the spiders themselves, or abandoned by rodents. They are nocturnal spiders and don't travel more than a few feet from home, resting in their burrows during the day.
Hunting/Diet:
Their eyesight is weak, only being able to see differences in the level of light. They rely instead on sensory hairs that feel the slightest vibrations on the ground and in the air, and allows them to detect movement. They will sneak up on their prey and attack, injecting them with venom which paralyzes them. They will often carry their prey back to their burrow or a safe location to eat it at leisure. They will then regurgitate digestive juices onto and inside their victim's mouths to break down the soft tissue. All that is left is an empty, hardened husk.
The size and power of the Goliath bird-eater makes it possible for them to eat larger prey. They rarely eat birds, although they may eat hatchlings. Its usual diet consists of frogs, small snakes, beetles, insects, lizards and even bats and pinky rats.
Social Behavior:
The Goliath bird-eating spider is a solitary arachnid, and only associates with other spiders of its species when mating or guarding its young. Males can be identified by the mating hooks on the first set of legs used to restrain the female's fangs while mating. About 50% of males are killed or maimed during or following mating.
The Goliath bird-eating spiders are considered to be very aggressive and do not make good pets. Unlike other spiders, who are noiseless, the Goliath bird-eating spider can make a hissing noise to frighten off threats by rubbing bristles on its legs together. They will also rear up on their hind legs in a threat position.
Offspring:
The female deposits about 50 eggs in a silken egg sack about 1 inch (3 cm) in diameter, and stores it in her burrow. She guards it for 6 to 7 weeks, even taking the sack with her when she leaves the burrow
Dangers:
Their two fangs have poison glands at their base. Although they are not very toxic to humans, they can cause severe pain, nausea and sweating. The venom works on the nervous system and paralyzes its smaller victims. A more painful way of defending itself is to flick off the hairs on its abdomen with its legs. These microscopically barbed hairs can be irritating to the skin and lungs. They will cause swelling for a few hours like a nettle rash. It is most serious when the hairs get into your eyes or mouth.
Facts:

Beauty and... "The Beast" Ever since she was a child Calida wanted to be a model for a famous clothing line or marketting ploy. She often spent her time chatting on the phone and oggling over fashion magazines, giving up on peer interaction as she deemed herself 'more talented' and 'prettier' than the other children at school. Her teenage ventures often included attending fashion venues, gazing up admiringly at the strutting models and hoping that she'd somehow stand out in the crowd to catch the eye of an important designer.
Her dream came true when she was filing out of the local mall the day after attending a fashion exhibition, in the form of a call to her cell phone. It was a designer who was interested, very interested in hiring her into his harem of high-class clothing models and he wanted to speak to her in person. He was so intent on her modelling his clothing line that she was to be flown out to the carribean locale where he was in the midst of a photo shoot in order to meet her, even possibly take a few pictures of her as well.
Her family supported her, her 'friends' bid her farewell (good riddens?) and she found herself packing her entire wardrobe of clothing in preparation for the flight that would change her life...
.... unfortunately she never made it. In a tragic twist of fate, her plane "crashed" on the way across the vast ocean, her body unable to be recovered.
