The thought of going off campus for a whole weekend with Jess had become a constant thing in Kayne's mind. He attempted to work out several different plans, but each of them had major flaws, most of them leading back to Cirrus. She had been so good lately, the last thing he wanted was to arouse her suspicions again. Starting to get desperate, he knew he needed to solicit help from somebody. Two heads were greater than one after all. But he couldn't go to Jess. Who else could he turn to? That's when he found himself standing at Ra's door with his fist poised and ready to knock. Hesitating, again talking himself into doing this, Kayne finally brought himself to knock on his door.

Ra had been studying. No, actually he had been watching movies because studying was boring. At the knock on the door he waited to see if Scarlett was going to get it. Guessing she was out due to lack of movement he got up from his bed and ran his fingers through his messy hair.
Out in the living area it was shockingly tidy, suggesting Scarlett had been on yet another one of her cleaning binges. He stopped briefly to look at the door hoping it might be Chii. Straightening his shirt he held his breath and pulled the door open. Exhaling as he saw it was only Kayne.
"Oh, it's you." He said with a smirk. "Come on through."
He turned from the door and moved back to his room where he pressed stop on his DVD player and sat on the bed.

"Geez, you could at least pretend to be happy to see me," Kayne grinned and shut the door behind him then follow Ra to his room. Once inside his room, he shut that door as well before turning to face Ra with a deep breath.
"Ra... I need some serious help. Is... your roommate here?" he asked, glancing at the closed door. He really didn't want anyone to overhear what he had come here to discuss with him.

Ra picked up the remote to his CD player and blinked at Kayne's blurted sentence.
"Ah, I see." He grinned. "Only come to see me when you want something."
Pressing play he allowed the low sounds of a heavy rock band to fill the room. He shrugged and moved to sit on one of the cushions that lay on the elaborate carpet.
"Nope, I think she's out." He said geturing for Kayne to take a seat. "What do you need help with?"
Ra was slightly concerened by the 'serious' in front of 'help.' He hoped Kayne hadn't gotten himself in trouble with Morimoto or anyone again.

Glancing back at the door once more, Kayne moved to sit down across from Ra. A puzzled expression crossed his face as he thought hard about what it was he wanted to say exactly. Taking another deep breath and running a hand through his hair nervously, he looked up to his friend with a small smile.
"Look... I'll be honest with you. I need help getting off campus for a weekend. Any weekend. Normally it wouldn't be a big deal... but Cirrus can't know... uh... who I'll be with. I'm really sorry man, but I didn't know who else to turn to," he said quickly, getting the words out as fast as possible.

The fact that Kayne missed Ra's joking made him worry all the more.
"You want me to help you leave campus for a weekend?"
A confused expression crossed his face, he was puzzled by Kayne's words. He was obviously agitated about something, but his words didn't really make much sense.
"Why are you so anxious to leave?" Ra asked searching Kayne's face for any more clues. "Did you do something?"

Kayne blinked and frowned at Ra's question.
"Do something?" Kayne repeated and began to shake his head. "No... I... just need to get off campus. Like on holiday." Kayne looked down and started to absently mess with the hem of his jeans. He didn't want to just come out and say it. He knew Ra hadn't condemned him and Jess for the way they felt about each other, but he wasn't sure if he'd be willing to help him if he knew his real reasons for why he wanted off campus so badly.

Ra frowned again, he was still totally confused. Did Kayne need someone to go on holiday with? and why the agitation?
"I'm going to visit my parents on the long weekend we have coming up." He said looking at kayne suspiciously. "I suppose you could come with me if you were that desperate to get away. Not that my parents would mind ... but they're both a little crazy."

Kayne looked up at Ra with a small smile. So he was going to be leaving campus for the long weekend. That could definitely work in his favor. But Ra was still confused about his purpose in leaving. Sighing, he glanced away then back again.
"The thing is... I won't be going with you Ra. I uh... Well... I need an alibi and you're really the only person who knows what's going on. I hate to uh... use you. But I this is something I really would like to do," Kayne said, knowing he was being vague still, but chalking that up to his nerves.

The cogs finally clicking into place Ra gave a snort of laughter. This initial outburst turned into actual proper laughter. Recovering quickly he wiped a tear from his eye and looked back up at Kayne.
"Sorry, mate. But the way you're acting you look like you've killed someone and need to jump ship." He smirked and lowered his voice to a more conversational tone.
"No problem. I'll cover for you whilst you get whisked off by your older woman." He shook his head and laughed again. "Which I still can't believe by the way. Would have thought she'd have better taste."
Standing he went to the mini fridge and took out two cans of coke, passing one to Kayne he sat back down and smirked to the floor. "You owe me SOOOO bad." He said simply, pulling the can open with a hiss.

Kayne frowned slightly at Ra's outburst of laughter, failing to see what exactly was so funny. But when he managed to get control of his laughter and explain himself, Kayne had to laugh as well. So the boy did have a sense of humor in there. Thinking over how he had been conducting himself, Ra was absolutely right.
"Oi! Who could be better than me?" he smirked taking the coke. He fiddled with the can for a moment before opening it as well.
"Aye. I know I do. I'll do anything you ever ask of me. No questions asked. You need a body buried, I'm your man," he grinned taking a sip of the soda. "So... you really don't mind?" he asked, making sure that he truly wasn't imposing on his friend.

Ra shrugged, taking a sip of the sugary sweet drink.
"Why should I mind. It's not like I'll have to rearrange much. Just tell people you came with me. Make up some crap we did, which by the way we should probably get straight now. Your sister is sharp. If we don't have a solid story she'll see through it."
The cogs in Ra's mind were already turning. Hanging out with the "outcasts" in his last school, they had spent a lot of time sneaking out to go drinking. He was also very proficient at lying to his parents. His mother was as sharp as a sushi knife if he could fool her, Cirrus shouldn't be a problem.

"Aye. Exactly the reason why I'm here," Kayne grinned. It was cool to see that he and Ra were on the same page. He took another sip of his soda and realized, he didn't even know where Ra's parents were.
"So... I suppose we should start with the basics. Like where you're parents are living and if you'd take me to see anything of interest. Oh... and what kind of people your parents are like," he said, thinking back to when he had spent the weekend with Aine and all of the quetions Cirrus had asked then.

Ra blinked and tried to think of all the possible questions, including the ones Kayne had mentioned.
"Well, they have a house in Chiba which is near to Tokyo city. So I suppose if we were hanging out we'd go into Tokyo and mess around in the city. My parents..." Now that was the start of an essay. "O.k, my mum's name is Lahleh, my dad is Parvaiz. Uh, my mum's really outspoken and chatty. My dad's kinda strict and quiet, but he's cool once he warms up to you.
There are wierd rules too. They pray 5 times a day, uh no meat unless my mum can get some Halal. Uh, they dress pretty conservative. My mum wears a hijab, headscarf thingy. She usually doesn't around the house, but she would if you were there." He narrowed his eyes thinking more about things. "Uh, is that enough do you think?"

Kayne listened to Ra with interest. He was almost half disappointed that he would not be going to spend the weekend with him. But the thought of Jess quickly wiped that thought from his mind. He would have her all to himself for four days with nothing to get in their way.
"For my own personal information, about when do you think you'd be leaving and returning? So that way we can do so together," Kayne asked playing with the tab on the can. All of his nerves were gone now. They had been replaced by an anxious energy of anticipation.
