Hey guys...new here.

So tell me, what is the best movie on supernatural occurences till date? I want to go watch something! But if you give an idea, please make sure it's not a movie that makes FUN of the supernatural, but has interesting occurences in it. Thanks!

I dunno... blair witch project is usually the way to go.. although I think it is a joke personally.
The Exorcism of Emily Rose is good, but really Catholic. From what I hear it's a true story. The exorcism scene creeps me out. Also note that some of the languages they point out in court aren't languages that they teach in public or private schools anymore, even Catholic colleges.
Constantine is eh.... too Catholic.
White Noise is alright, pretty accurate too.
There's always X-Files and Poltergeist.
House on Haunted Hill
13 Ghosts
The 13th Floor
Hell, I think American Werewolf in Paris is pretty funny.
There's the classic Exorcist.
Night of the Living Dead (none of the spin-offs)
The Village (Not going to spoil it for you, but it is a must-see at least once)
Signs (both of the previous are done by M. Night Shyamalan [sp?])
Any of the Nightmare on Elm Street or Friday the 13th movies... although I thought Freddy Vs. Jason was a bit too twisted in the perverted kind of way.
Event Horizon
Darkness

Honestly, I wish there was a movie that showed more of the darker side of fae. A supernatural thriller would be just too creepy considering some of the stuff I've seen or heard of in legend. Come on, they can't all be shiny and happy and full of fluff.

If you're not looking for thriller movies, check out Spirited Away (Sen to Chihiro No Kamikakushi in japanese).

Don't forget:
"The Sixth sense" Which is probably one of my favorite supernatural thrillers of all time. (I loove M. Night Shyamalan.)

I would also like to second "Signs" (And again, all of M. Night's movies are great in my opinions.
I want to second "The X-Files" telivision series, as well. Best series ever. smile

Some others I really like:
The Haunting
The Shining (I'd recomend the newer version before the origional, though.)

I will probably add some more movies that I thought were good later. LilaMalvae posted a lot of good ones.

The Amnityville Horror also comes to mind as a decent one. I have never seen the origional, so I'd be talking about the more recent one.

An up and coming movie would also be Pulse, based on a Japanese horror fild called Kairo(also a good one).

Other J-horror films that may be good include, but are not limited to;

Ju-On(the Grudge)--Movie about darkspirits lingering and enacting their wrath.
Ringu (the Ring)--Movie about a cured videotape and its origion.
Virus--Movie about a small hospital staff facing the wrath of a patient they accidentally killed. (It had some philisophical concepts in there too, I personally liked it because of that. sweatdrop )

It should be known that these are simply the ones that I have seen, though.
A lot of wrath from those J-horror films...

Virus was nasty. Really bad, contagious cases of necrosis. I wouldn't wish necrosis on anyone.... it literally describes a condition in which case your tissue sloughs off the bones because the flesh is rotting away that quickly.

Speaking of dead things: Night of the Living Dead, Dawn of the Dead, Demons, 28 Days Later. Any of the old cult classic movies like Dracula (or any of the modern spinoffs), Frankenstein (read the book, please, it's wonderful). I forgot Interview With a Vampire. Uh... Cursed (it was a really bad movie, but somebody else might like it). I actually like the Casper movie with Christina Ricci in it.

Dark City is good too. It's an alien movie, but it's really almost noir-like, very goth, very good. I don't like a lot of the alien stuff, but this movie is GREAT! Check it out. It's even got Keiffer Southerland (sp?) in it.

Ugh, omen.... I'm not seeing it today. I might wait until it comes out on video though.

I wish some decent pagan supernatural movies would come out.

I'm just gonig to post my list, because it's easier than checking over everything and trying to remember what I've seen.

These are some supernatural/horror movies (since 90% of the horror movies you see have something to do with the inhuman) that I really liked.

+ The Texas Chainsaw Massacre; Remake --- Why is this one here? I denno, I just got a really strange feeling from this one, even though I can barely remember it. (I saw it when I was 11 or so, and it scared the s**t out of me xD;; Only covered my eyes at one or two places though, I think...*proud*) LeatherFace just gives off a supernatural air to me. neutral
+ Thirteen Ghosts --- I actually saw this one only a few weeks ago. Hella creepy. I had to sleep on the couch last night...Not many movies can make me do that. xD;; *Horror movie buff*
+ Boo --- This one I saw...last weekend? One of those "stuck in a ____ with ____" films.
+ Jeepers Creepers 1 & 2 --- Mang, what kind of a horror movie fan can't love theese? Most certainly supernatural, the "bad guy" is...well, hell if I know what he is. O_o;; But he's not human, that's for sure.
+ Queen of the Damned --- Anne Rice. Sexy vampire action. What more need I say?
+ War of the Worlds; Remake --- We all know the "War of the Worlds" story, do we not? I don't think I need explain.
+ E.T. --- Must love classics! <33 Though I saw this a lo~ong time ago and it really scared me then....I think if I got the chance to see it now I'd love it. smile
+ Alien/AVP/DooM/etc. --- Yehp, all them good alien movies. Allthough....Alien was boring. I mean, so boring I actualy turned it off boring. neutral
+ The Exorcist --- I have no comments, for this movie is the pinacle of awesomeness. Projectile Vomit!! OHYES.
+ The Exorcism of Emily Rose --- The Exorcist for the modern world, but toned down to a PG-13 rating. all of you who got to see this in the theatre, as I did, you are all lucky bastards indeed. wink
+ Dawn of the Dead/Shaun of the Dead/Night of the Living Dead/etc --- Yay for zombie movies!! Shaun of the Dead is a must-see on my list, as it is quite hilarious. :3
+ Ju-On/The Grudge --- The Grudge and it's original japanese counterpart, Ju-On. They're both magnificent movies, and rather spooky ones at that. ;D
+ Ringu/The Ring/2 --- Another set of japanese & american movies, Ringu & The Ring are most certainly creepy. The Ring (1) Is one of the few movies in which I have ever covered my eyes. Just can't do that whole....electrocuted-to-death thing. Oo;;
+ Spiderman/2 --- They were both excellent movies indeed, allthough the prospects of the third is looking rather glum, as I've heard there's a different director....
+ X-Men 1-3 --- I've yet to see the third one, so I can't tell you my opinion on that yet. :3
+ Van Helsing --- <333! Dracula is one hot b***h in this movie.
+ Rose Red --- Stephen King. Need I say more?
+ Wrong Turn --- Increidibly disgusting, but hard to look away from. I personally think the things in that movie were supernatural, but feel free to disagree with me if you like
+ Pirates of the Carribean --- Hot pirate lovin' with a touch of ancient curse. Ohyes.

Okay, I think my list is getting just a little bit long now... XD;; I'll stop. D:

Maybe its just me, but I thought that Jeepers Creepers 2 was more funny than scary. I mean it was still good, but the first one was better for the full horror experience in my honest opinion.

And then there is also Close Encounters of the Third Kind, Star Wars 1-6 and Star Trek.
Oh, and then my personal favorite, Independance Day.

waht ever you do dont watch the blair witch project. It's really bad. sorry to all those who atually like it.
1. It's not scary
2. it's view about the supernatural and witchcraft is bad.
it is completely wrong and gives the wrong idea about all of it.e.g the gaelic runes that are pictured in the movie are wrong and everything is done badly!

I watched The Skeleton Key the other night. It is awesome! It scared the hell outta me, which is surprising because not many movies do. It's about Houdou and evil ghosts and ---I don't want to ruin it for you guys but it's awesome.
Watch it, or Father Justify will get you. pirate
