dopplegangers, what are they? well, i have an idea
i believe that each person has 2 personalities, one is the normal one, the other is deep in the subconcious.
when you hear of people seeing their dopplegangers its their subconcious causing them to see their otherselves. you see, the other self wants dominence and eventually becomes strong enough to be seen by the person.
the two halves of the mind then "duke" it out for dominence. only one wins, the other loses, and so disapears, leaving only one half of the mind. and since the body cant function with only half a mind, the person dies.
so, what do you think?

i dont know, what about the people who are depressed some times they are verry happy other times the try to commit suicide because they feel so un happy. Do you think that their subconshis is fighting their conshis?

curse_gem i dont know, what about the people who are depressed some times they are verry happy other times the try to commit suicide because they feel so un happy. Do you think that their subconshis is fighting their conshis? i dont think so. i think that thats just mood swings

(not being rude, just cant phrase it in a better way) thats alright, it didn't sound rude at all... but i think you have a misconception.... the original is not the only one who can see a doppleganger.... there have been many instances where a person saw someone they know, and they were them, but when you mentioned it to either one of them, by sayin' hi to them when you first see them, or mention it to your friend or family, they will show no recollection... your friend if told about this will say that they were never there, and never even heard of it before.... or the one you saw will have no knowledge of you what so ever....

well first, not all do die, just some, i would say about 49% die
second, the doppleganger seems to be a symbiot, it requires your exsitence to even begin to livek, so the doppleganger is trying to take over your life.... so that they can stay in tis realm untill they die.... dopplegangers are not normaly premited in this plane of exsitence, and can usualy only stay for a specfic length of time... they have to send their other, their doppleganger so to speak, back in their place if they want to stay in this realm... if you want me to clarify anything, feel free to let me know.

Starting now: Schitzophrenia, original, permitted, subconscious, conscious I'm a writer and I always cringe when I see a word that is obviously mispelled. This is not to say that I don't make my own errors, however. Anyway, on topic now. Doppelgangers are the psychological or supernatural double of a person or creature. sweatdrop Sorry, sorry, bad humour, couldn't help myself. I've allways wondered what a Doppelganger was after seeing this monster in-game, since a know that a lot of Ragnarok monsters are based off of real life creatures and/or myths....I hope an agreement comes sooner or later, this is very interesting to me! =33

I have on many occations had other people witness dopplegangers of me. Whether or not they were just look alikes is up to debate as I was not there at the time.
I don't believe that only the subject of the doppleganger is prone to viewing it. It doesn't really make much logical sense in my opinion.
