Ok... here's the deal .... At my school's GSA...we decided that we're gonna say "Thats Gay." for good things instead of stupid things... so if you get an A on a test or sumthin like that... you say in a happy tone..."That's so gay!" ^__^ ....and just for fun... we went ahead and said that if something bad happened then we say "That's so straight." (nothing against straight people). What's your say on this matter?

I think that's a pretty bad idea. Because while it gets the gay=good association... a good test grade is not homosexual. It's not good for gay to be associated with things that are not people. Unless you are using gay as "Happy" such as "We'll have a gay old time."

I think it's rather silly...
Which reminds me, That whole debate over whether saying "That's so gay." Is wrong or not, seems silly too.
I don't know...
I always say, That's so gay. I don't mean it in a bad way, obviously. And I don't think it's such a big deal.

While I think that's an ok idea.. about turning "that's gay" into something possitive, I dont like the idea of saying "that's so straight" for stupid things.
But I'll have to agree with Dream in the long run, I dont think it should really matter.

It's an okay idea on the surface, but I agree with everyone else that it can cause some problems. I think you'll get more negative feedback than positive because I think the idea is to spread the proper use of the word "gay" and I don't think that what you're planning is advocating that.

LOL blaugh . That idea is so gay! I love it! I don't ever say something's gay in the bad way, but it'd hilarious to say it in a good way, just to confuse people rofl . i wouldn't say "that's so straight" tho, just cuz it's not nice to insult peoples, as straight as they are talk2hand .

I don't know if that's such a good idea...that was one of the things that turned me off from the GSA at my own school (the main one was that I attended two or three meetings before the straight bashing got to me)....they would play this game at the end of every meeting--a take-off of "Duck, Duck, Goose!" only it was "Gay, Gay, Straight!" For some reason it urked me, because I always saw the Goose as the negative aspect in the game because you got chased....
This is just my personal opinion, if it can get people to stop using "Gay" as a negative at your school, more power to ya! 3nodding
